I'm an actress and after the Laurence Fox debacle I have given up my equity membership. I have been a member for years but it has been totally taken over by the repressive, illiberal left. I expect my union to protect my rights as an actor not to demand I regurgitate and adhere to ideas which I do not agree with and worse still stamp on any debate or discussion with the threat of unemployment or being outed as a racist. Bloody disgusting. It has always promoted itself on being tolerant -only it's so not is it? Hyposcites of the highest order.

The swamp has already ruined America - it has been in process for decades - slippery slope - seemingly small things here and there. Now here we are in the drop shoot. As an individual I have no clue what to do because jail is not an option. More concerned now at so many people talking and exposing but I think we are their audience. Aka their words and facts fall in deaf ears. Think military crumbled --- higher ups caved scared of losing positions, pensions, etc. MSM are and SCOTUS are in bed with resident swamp and CHINA. Her father is white. So she is white. Why do people with one white parent always want to describe themselves as 'black' ? Is it black pride or being ashamed of being half white? I suspect even her mum is part white, thus Megan is more than half white. Why talk about your blood race all the time? Focus on your character and culture instead. Now she is whining about not being 'accepted'. Royal families are notorious about being discriminatory about lots of things such as family background, personal history, marital history, manners, speech, etc etc etc. Why focus on your minority black genes? And if a dumb racist asked what colour the baby might be, walk away from them and show you have more class than him/her. Instead you show your weakness and insecurities and create a big drama. What did she expect when she married a prince? She should have tried marrying a middling prince from Middle east, Malaysia, Japan or india. She would have had to give up her whole past and Hollywood identity and no media interviews, even after divorce. No compromises. Comparatively, the British royal family is extremely tolerant of their silly and crazy members. Silly drama queen is this Megan girl. Btw, I'm not 'white' or 'black'. I'm human from Asia.

There was a huge silent majority under Stalin, but he controlled the army, the police and the law courts and the mediaThe law courts wouldn’t pass a ruling, Stalin didn’t like now would they? Same as the law courts were too afraid of the violent left to rule the election had massvote rigging which was bloody obvious to them, but they kept passing the buck on some vague technicality. You might as well have had Stalin in charge, of the country and the law courts. The results were the same. The trouble is, the Americans have allowed their army to become divided and now they don’t have a clue about who the army will protect. Meanwhile the Democrats are busy stacking the army with pro Democrat commanders. I think the time to talk is past but our schools have been allowed to confuse our people about defending themselves and their culture by branding them and their culture as the oppressors. This hippie, liberal, leftist ideology, has bought Western Civilisation down to it’s knees and the stupid fools still can’t see that. Those who warned them that “mass immigration” was a dangerous “social experiment” were right. They have bought about the downfall of America and not far off Britain and Europe and Australia. You are 100% correct. They've made debate impossible and never wanted it around anyway. The double standard is very blatant in the past few weeks. Normally they wait a year or something before bashing their enemies for the same thing their allies do. But now... they feel so emboldened, they will run hypocritical, contradictory articles within minutes. Arguing clearly isnt effective whether you win or not. When you are restricted from every single platform, no one can hear you. The only thing to possibly help right now is some sort of internet bill of rights. We saw a massive surge in "right wing" thought online while the left pushed too hard. They call it "right wing" because it disagrees with their narrative when in actuality its just free thought. When you let people speak freely and let them organize and search organically, people WILL search for and create sane alternatives that become popular. The problem we have right now is the intense stranglehold big tech has on information.

He is an actor, not a politician, not a public speaker, not someone who has dedicated any significant time or thought to the isles. He should not have been invited on the programme, the BBC must take some responsibility for this. But he accepted the invitation, came on and shot his mouth off in the most superficial way, like someone mouthing off in the pub. Just what his hosts expected and wanted. The people must be entertained, and Fox obliged with the usual dog-whistle issues and evoked, as expected, the usual Pavlovian knee-jerk reactions of those who obediently respond in this way. Just as you will now respond with some ill-thought out , incoherent rant to my thoughtful comment.

It seems everyone replying in this thread is interpreting patty sizer's comment as saying that he/she is individually, personally denounced as a racist. Hence, for example, the reaction from one poster: "... the question is what did you say when you were called a racist." (which I assume is asking what patty sizer said *_before_* being called a racist - in order to 'deserve' the accusation - rather than what he/she said afterwards in response) I have to say that I took it - especially in view of OP's words "I am told... *_by the media_* " - that reference was being made to the general and frequent putting down of white people in large sections of Western society, including the media - in other words, the tendency of many institutions to brand *_all_* whites as 'racist', rather than any attacks singling out the OP specifically. Perhaps patty sizer would care to clarify?

Maybe twitter will get better. Or maybe we'll come up with decent alternatives. The thing about platforms like twitter is that, at first, they are joined by people who are "action oriented." The tone, beliefs, and actions of those users shape the platform. It takes a while for people like myself to get out of our comfort zones and "tweet". To me, twitter is a hassle. I have more sensible things to do. What's changing is that stories like Laurence's are becoming more common. Tweeting feels no longer a matter of preference. It almost feels like a duty. When we see our honest, educated people being attacked, we, the I-m-happy-in-my-own-little-world people, realize that it's time to speak up and to show our support. ❤️

I'd love to hear Christopher Hitchens on all this. Anyway, I am so sorry for the distress and anguish they've put Laurence Fox and his close ones in. It is at the minimum, despicable. The "woke" are people who are in no means privy to the very knowledge that they claim to have the ultimate perspective on. It's appalling to so viciously attack someone, without being absolutely sure one has pursued all avenues of critical thought. And they so utterly clearly haven't. Fuck them. I am getting really tired of their oppressive ignorance.

@Greig91 I support your view. I'm in a market serviced by NPR's local station WNYC. Alongside the NYTimes the dominate atmosphere with their unwavering false portrayals of events. As someone else pointed out, headlines are not supported often by a careful reading of the article. Inconvenient facts are omitted or only added much later, buried deep in a subsequent article. I agree with Laurence who points to the biblical tradition as a counterweight to the insanity. Times article today went into what some of those who walked with MLK are thinking about what's going on. Only one willing to say, planning, purpose and defined goals matter; and things take time. But I think what didn't come out was that those men were strongly disciplined by their faith. That was crucial in giving them a solid basis personally and socially. I'm beginning to limit my willingness to take the bait these guys are offering. They will do a lot of damage, but not everywhere and not forever.
