You could have dropped the ladder, jogged back for the bike, then collected the ladder. But you kept fit , saved fuel and helped the environment, way to go Laura Farmer.

Laura, your videos are the happy part of my day; and this is another great post that lets me farm vicariously through you and your dad. I was involved with seed corn and bean production with Syngenta (formerly Northrup-King); and I farmed near one of Golden Harvest's seed farms near Eldred. IL. Also, as a Leeser driver I've picked up and delivered seed to the Pioneer plant near you. Look forward to your next video.

I'm a 65 year old farmer/truck driver who farms about 2000 acres around 200 miles north of you. Just get on highway 14 and start driving north. I'm mainly watching these videos to see what a pain pivot systems can be. I never would have thought that they could be so bothersome. I had lunch the other night in Central City after delivering at the city shop there so I was kind of grubby. While standing in line at the Dairy Queen theY guy behind me asked if I had been irrigating. Thats when I decided to check out the whole irrigating thing. Your stuff came up on my KZread search. I have to say that it is certainly enlightening. There is quite a difference between what you people do down there compared to what we do up here. You guys have a lot higher level of management involved. My daughter also was very involved with the farm, she was able to operate any piece of equipment on the farm. Then she got married. I don't get to work with her very much anymore, but the grandchildren like to come to the farm and learn. I'm sure your father looks forward to you coming home with great anticipation. He is one lucky fella. He comes across as a great guy and I'm sure that he makes working a lot of fun.

Great Video Laura! Hope School is going well! Probably in about 7 months will be Graduated! Looking forward to Y’all Wedding. The reflective rain suit looked good but for sure wearing a rain suit with rubber work boots on HOT weather is rough!! Great to see the “ring” “ glistening” when you were looking at turnips. Always enjoy seeing the package reception y’all get if your able to show. Love Dad “making it rain” with the sprayer. Your Dad is very funny! Thanks for sharing y’all’s life with us. Congrats on 60K, hope it increases!

I loved Nebraska so much! I was in Nebraska a few years ago on military orders, I was actually in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was so fun, especially trying out the Vapor Shots, and going to Barry's roof top bar. The atmosphere in that area is amazing. The only other place I have ever seen near as fun is Nashville, TN and the Stockyards in Texas! :)

Very nice video, thanks. Something that can take the stark difference off from college life is exercise. It can be boring, but sports can be fun wear people out pretty good: there is some risk of injury though, of course. Even simple walking if just an hour of brisk walking has major health benefit, and getting sun and being around nature some during the day. I have a hard time sleeping myself sometimes.

I don’t know if Laura will see this but I have a question. In thinking about the design of the pivots, wouldn’t it be beneficial to have a walk way on top or in the middle that would allow for easier access when needing to clean the nozzles instead of coming from below? Also, what about a ball valve on each of nozzles that would allow you to stop the flow of water to attach/detach the heads.

Ahhhh College Days. I remember them well. Try to get all of ur classes schedualed in three to four days, classes done by noon and friday's open. lol Got that to happen a few times. Then it was work half to 3/4th time, I did track, Cross Country running and Wrestling and some of my own running and lifting. Played intramurals and raq. ball with friends and would start games of RISK no earlier than midnight. And found time to eat and study in there. Avg. day for me most of my life has been, up at 4:30 or 5 am 6 days a week. Hit the sack at 10pm to midnight, except when we played RISK. Risk nights usually meant going right to breakfest and then classes and fall asleep a little earier than normal.lol One day a week, usually Sat. I slept in to 10 am and repeated, unless there was competition that day.
