In my opinion some versions of this song just sang this song without even considering how romantic and passionate it's supposed to be, but not this version because this cover just surprised me and simply captured how magical and enchanting this song could be if you really put emotions for it and not just sing it casually 😅

Not long ago I was sitting in my kitchen apt with red walls of photos of vintage movie stars. A popcorn machine, red, long velvet theatre curtains, a huge picture of 2 people dining on a train in the 1920s. My daughter had purchased me a cookbook of raw foods from countries all over the planet. I was sitting at my kitchen table admiring real beauty. Then Edith Piaf s song la vie en Rose played. I recall hearing it as a child as my grandmother was french. I simply fell in love. Than I heard it by Laura y Anton y feel deeper in love.

I played this version in the office with my dad. He loves it. Now that he is in heaven I hope he still listens to it. :) I miss my dad; he was really fond of the singer for the way she sang.

This is my favorite version now. Good that I've seen this. I'm listening to this everyday while cooking and preparing breakfast and taking a bath. Listening to this over and over everyday.

How is it possible that you made this song more beautiful than it already is. What soulful song indeed.

You have no idea how much tears I shed after I learned the literal translation of this song. The words have so much weight in them in the French Version, the English one can’t compare. The “magic” of the French lyrics can’t be translated. You can understand it, sure, but it slaps better in French. This encouraged me to study French again. What a dream it would be to hear and understand words of love, without giving the effort and time to translate it. Beautiful video!

My dear French mother would sing this while tinkling the keys on her Steinway. Only 10 years old I no idea how deeply romantic the song is to lovers. Now 80 and married 58 years the melody lingers. Nice rendition by this couple. Love Satchmo's version as well.

There's this simplicity and innocence blended into her appearance mixed with her beautiful, soothing voice singing an equally beautiful and soothing love song that makes her so pretty. Oh, and that dude with a violin is cool too. Seriously, excellent music.

You're absolutely right. I took 3 months of French & forget everything. I mess up gender of objects. It's even harder than learning Chinese but a beautiful language!

Goosebumps know no language. This is perfect. This version is so incredibly beautiful, that of the 50 times I've heard this since I found this, I have never managed to keep my eyes open to watch the video.

The woman "melts my heart". I have listened to countless covers of this wonderful song but this is far and away the best. You feel the lyrics in you soul.

This is an absolutely lovely version done in original French then English and back to French. The use of heavy echo in Laura's microphone just adds the right amount of smoky French cafe ambiance and highlights her delicate but strong vocal delivery. One of my favorite KZread versions of this classic Edith Piaf song.

This song first was recorded around the same date when I was born. So I grew up hearing it. It then disappeared, after many years. So glad it is back. It was always one of my favorite songs, in French and English.

I'm in love with this version. I've always thought this is how it should be played. I'm not french but I believe this is as french as it gets. Thank God for youtube! When the covid situation is over, I'm gonna fly to Paris and spend my afternoon in a cafe with a view of the eiffel tower, sipping on some wine while listening to this.

I did French for 5 years in high school and hated the experience even though I thought the language was beautiful. This version of the song reminds me why it was that I couldn't bring myself to hate the language in spite of how many bad memories I had in those classes. As soon as I'm at a speaking level in German I'm going to learn this beautiful language again for myself, the right and real way. すてきな声だよ。

I imagine meeting my future husband in a little hidden coffee shop in Montmartre. This song would be playing, and he'd walk in as I was by the counter getting ready to order. My head turns abruptly when he walks in, and I find myself having forgotten how to look away. How do you look away from someone whose eyes shine brighter than anything you have ever before seen, whose smile hides layers of skin deep resplendence, whose entire being collides with yours? I find myself blushing as I realize we have been staring into each other's eyes for 30 whole seconds and I look down at the floor and giggle as he keeps on staring. I proceed to order my cappuccino and he orders the same, his eyes still not looking away from me. I flash him a shy smile and proceed to walk to a table. I sit down, avoiding his stare. "la vie en rose" is a masterpiece, a personification of beauty, and i listen to this song everyday. it's so weird but, i see la vie en rose with new eyes, before i fall in love with someone...and he loves this song too, i feel that, la vie en rose is "our song", something special between us ♥
