Wow. Have never heard of Katie Melua. Came across this just looking for good music. Started to listen and stopped before the singing started to put it on the tv for my wife to hear also. When it was over we both just stared at each other. I said to her this is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. She agreed. The music is incredible and Katie's voice is amazing. It is two weeks before Christmas as I write this, what a gift it was for us Thank you Katie and God be with you.

I had the same reaction when I discovered her a couple years ago. My wife was gone to Germany to visit family and I came across this one night after I'd gone to bed. It had me in tears within seconds of hearing Katie's voice. This was the first song of hers I'd ever heard.

I am with you there entirely Baron! I have seen her live (I was amazed at how small -ok 'petite'- she really is). And if you like Katie you may well appreciate Kina Grannis who I discovered quite by chance. If KG performed over in UK I would certainly go and see her. Another amazing voice and singer with feeling.

I think that every time I listen to the song. My wife has dementia and actually placed in a memory care today. This was her favorite song and we listened to it a loop constantly. I never minded. It will always be our song now

At almost 12 years of being a big fan of Katie, I unexpectedly met her in person on the 1st of november. She beckoned me on stage for a picture but the camera from my phone wasn't working so I stood there facing her kinda starstruck and she smiled up at me. Then, she said "Do you want to take a picture with me backstage? It's very busy here with the fans close to the stage, also backstage there will be much better photo quality", I nodded and she put her arm around me and guided me backstage. We took a photo and I was quite nervous. She said I shouldn't be nervous and she giggled when she saw a picture from her on my phone background. Then she waved goodbye because she had to go to the Meet and Greet. Aka the best day of my life.

Pure LOVE from mother to child. That's the way it's supposed to be. Katie's voice is heavenly. The voice of the angels. Mike Batt's genius is displayed in writing this incredible song which should stir in all of us a reverence for mothers. This song reminds me so much of my own mother (who was a matriarch in her own time) and my mother-in-law. Our/my children have certainly been blessed with a mother and grandmothers who epitomize what Katie is singing about. I, my wife, and our children have truly been blessed. This was my choise at the funeral off my mother 05-01-2024. So heartbreaking for me when I listen to this song now😢😢😢. Beautiful memories.

@Thomas,real music at last! A very underrated top notch professional singer who enjoys her work with no smoke and mirrors. Yes kick back from lake Tahoe on the Nevada side.

While hearing her sing I wish I still had my stereo system instead of my I-Pad. A good stereo system you get to hear the range and depth of music even the highs. Listening to those strings and brass while hearing the clarity. Life is good enjoy your life and your family and friends. Smell the flowers and enjoy gods beauty.

Love it. Rich, a great blend of modern and classical instruments, beautiful vocal, beautiful lyric and sentiment.

Brilliant in every way - from the full orchestra to the magnificent singing vocals. It’s as good as any recording by Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra or Barbara Streisand.

Why is it, I just heard this song for the first time recently? All those years I missed out on this. I am obsessed with this song!
