@@Wiziliz JC The Hyena didn't take the removal of Sonic.exe to kindly off of the creepypasta wiki and put into the trollpasta wiki because Sonic.exe was just a basic sense of what a creepypasta shouldn't do, so of course when he found this out he didn't take news too kindly to heart because he can't take criticism well and so therefore he went to his furaffinity page and ranted about the matter only to made fun more and not taken seriously because he's a autistic retard with a level of incompetency that would only make the author of the original 2011 Jeff The Killer story seem like a smart boy for the creation of his story.

"After a few tense swaps, Mama Luigi puts James to bed" This should be put alongside the opening lines of Anna Karenina in the annals of literature. By the way, are you still considering penpals as perhaps the season 2 finale like you said before?

The way I'D write the story is build up Laughing Jack, have the mother at first think it is an imaginary friend, and then start believing that laughing Jack MIGHT be real. After MUCH build up, character development, and world building, Laughing Jake starts doing shit AND show that he isn't fucking after a while. After Laughing Jack offs the dog, he sits the family down and laughs in their face as he vaugely tells em why he does the shit he does. The reasoning is slightly straightforward, but vauge enough to make it leave the audience try and explain the reasons with their OWN reasons.

Here's what I'd do: Make the reader question whether or not Laughing Jack actually existed. The mother could actually be schizophrenic or something like that, and ended up murdering her whole family, but the story makes it seem like Laughing Jack killed them. It could be interesting.

Okay but if you watched Hoodo -HoodlumsRevenge’s Top 10 Worst Creepypasta Cliches, you’d know that throwing in violence towards children and/or animals, without a plausible reason for it, it’s good to wreck your story. There has to be a reason for it otherwise people are gonna be disgusted by it and if not, they’ll find it boring

Toshi The Panda, Yeah I seen HoodlumsRevenge's Top 10 Worst Creepypasta Cliches, personally as a writer and even seeing it when I'm showing off my work to people, they all reel back when I'm talking about a woman, child or animal. Remember most people aren't writers or creators so they wouldn't find it boring or else some movies would bomb harder than anything else. I mean I have a monster that goes straight after children and I get into detail, does it make it boring? No, cause I have chapters on chapters of build up and making people care about these kids before I put a ax to their head. The point of my original comment is, no one cares about men dying compared to animals, children and women.

Nice vid. I'm putting my tin foil hat on here, but I think a reason why a lot of these new "pasta monsters" are getting a lot of attention is because of popular narrators like MCP. One of the reasons why I stopped listening to him in particular is that he could not quality control, which resulted in plenty of average to bad stories getting popular. This is an example. I think he's gotten better at finding better stories but honestly I haven't listened to anything by him in a while. I don't know if he does "pasta monster" stories anymore but honestly, I think it would be best if he didn't. I honestly believe Clockwork, TT, Hobo Heart, Jason the Toymaster, and LJ are popular because of narrators like MCP. I mean I understand the excitement one could have if they think they've found the next Jeff, but they are too busy asking if they could when they should have asked if they should (or however that Jurassic Park quote goes).

I've read somewhere that even they had read Jeff the Killer - however so far I could only find a Jeff The Killer rewrite that was read by them. I heard that there was drama, but I never heard anything specific and the last thing I want to do is spread some unsubstantiated rumor that I can't even correct after the video's been uploaded because KZread decided to remove annotations. Also if I didn't split this one into a two-parter I'd be holding off on the production of this video while I work on what's coming in October. The entire thing would be released in November. Even now was cutting it close, I need to jump right back to work immediately.

These types of stories love to be as open to projection as possible, and as proven time and time again their methods work. Laughing Jack is meant to be a projection to people raised by or are themselves single moms, Jeff TK is meant to be a projection for kids who were bullied, even Nina TK is meant to be a projection of obsessive fangirls. Projection is very powerful since it guarantees that someone will be fighting tooth and nail for your story (I want to add that it is not automatically bad of course, though it can be very dangerous when it comes to fanatics). Honestly the problem with projection is more on the fans than the writer, sure if the writer is pandering for the purpose of having obsessive fans at their defense is manipulative on their part, but many people in general have problems separating themselves from a character once their attached and become complete fanatics as a result.

I don't know about you guys, but i think the concept of "an imaginary friend that acts friendly but they're actually evil and hurts kids and people" could have A LITTLE of potential to create an interesting thing. Like, imagine if he is just a Ghost that only kids can see and he convice them he is their friend, adults can't see him so they just assume he is just an imaginary friend. At first he is just friendly, playing with the kids and gaining their trust. Then, he would start to go EdGy and do some creepy things, like inciting children to hurt themselves or to put themselves into dangerous situations. He could even be like those creepy adults that manipulate children by saying things like "If you don't do this i will stop being your friend!" or "do you want candy? do what i say". So things go slowly escalating until the kids are basically slaves of their "friend" and THEN its when he kills people and does spooky things. I think this version could be a little more interesting, or could be just me, i have heard about many stories where kids have creepy imaginary friends like this but idk. But im not a writter, so i don't know if this is good anyway.

(7:22) This just an example of something with coulrophobia projecting their fears onto everyone else. Not everybody fears clowns, FishStick. There wouldn't be an entire goddamn industry of clowns entertaining children if children didn't like clowns. If you looked at pictures of professional clowns and not pop culture clowns, you'd quickly see the difference. They look dumb as hell which I guess is their job, they're not really scary. It's only creepy when their entire face is painted white with a huge red smile with nothing else.

So... literally all kakyoin was doing was attacking jotaro using heirophant green, either using emerald splash, or some other attack, and the painting was just for show. Even if that wasn't the case and heirophant green allowed him to use paintings like voodoo dolls, riddle me this: in which fight would Kakyoin -be able to drop everything, possibly leaving himself or the other crusaders vulnerable to attack -locate a canvas and paints -have the time to paint a portrait of the enemy -all while not being interrupted because I don't know how well he can paint while getting the shit beat out of him. Even if there was a fight where he could do this, it would be much more efficient to just use emerald splash. Also while I'm on the topic, since other stand users can see heirophant green, and every single one of kakyoin's opponents are stand users, and it is required for Heirophant green to get close to its victim to possess it, i don't exactly see where it would be possible, or beneficial to use this ability over, again, attacking the stand or its user. Yes. I know I'm bitching about a 30 second clip that ultimately has pretty much nothing to do with the rest of the video. No, I dont know why I'm bitching about an irrelevant 30 second clip Edit: Kakyoin actually does use his possession ability again in the Death 13 fight.

This came to mind after listening to this review. or I was thinking of Laughing Jack the last couple days and remembered your review. I don't know if this would be any better but if i had the inspiration enough to write it out this is how I'd change it The dream the mother had would be like a real place, a pocket dimension that LJ lives in. Instead of killing children or other humans he eventually kidnaps them and brings them to this dimension permanently where they are turned into puppets or carnival/circus workers. Everyone would wear a manic smile and giggle/laugh maliciously. LJ would act more clown like, or perhaps Jester if there is a difference, and be the ringleader of the place. Outside his own entertainment I'm not sure why he'd do this, hadn't thought of that. Perhaps to add in that "horror aspect of blood and such" some games can involve killing the people he no longer has a use for or simply just very dangerous. Such as balloon pop with balloons that explode. I haven't thought that far but the last thing I thought of, to keep that candy aspect of JL, a pile can be found next to the mother as she wakes up.

I don't mind Laughing Jack's story, personally. I think there's a few really good elements in it, and while most people complain really hard about the graphic descriptions, my only issue is that there isn't much else to the story beyond the ending, which I personally do like, besides said descriptions. I'm not of the mind that somebody including lots of the fleshy bits in a story is bad in of itself, it's just bad when it's without a better foundation. Also, I like clowns in spite of the horror connotation, the circus is a good place.

I'm counting myself blessed that neither the first couple of creepypasta that I read nor the first couple that I listened to were among the popular ones. That way I started out thinking that creepypasta are really nice short horror stories. About the popular ones I only found out much later, after I had discovered the likes of HoodoHoodlumsRevenge and MichaelLeroi. If I had started out with stories like Laughing Jack who knows if I might actually have continued reading or listening to creepypasta.

Omg! Fish, you pulled off a BCP. The guys of Bad Creepypasta made a reference to that scene in Aliens 3. They even made a joke about the story taking place on a spaceship called Suburbia.

kakyoin uses the posesion on death 13, other than that it's usefulness is limited especially against other stand users. silver chariot removes his armor in later fights like hol horse but once again you gotta consider that there's a trade off with removing the armor that limits the situations it can be used in. the painting was just kakyoin being dramatic while heirophant went over and cut jotaro's leg, same with the puppet he had during the fight in the nurses office, also remember that those were done while with dio's flesh buds. star finger has range but isn't very usefull otherwise. gold experiences punches messing with time only works on living things, not stands or anything else. I'll agree that the hand barely had any fights

Kakyoin's posession: no real point after the fight due to the way his fights are handled, but he does enter bodies twice later (Death 13 and Lovers) The painting thing: not an ability, it's just Heirophant Green slashing at Jotaro's leg Polnareff's armor: it's done twice but theres no opportunity for it to be really useful Star Finger: it's used 2 times, 3 times in the anime but overall it's a shit ability that's only a last resort Giorno's punches: it's never gone. There's nothing that says the enemies arent expierencing the same effect as Bruno throughout the part

Ever read the Creepypasta, Mr. Widemouth? It did that premise of a monster who is first assumed to be an imaginary friend, but really seeks to lure the child to their doom a lot better than Laughing Jack did.

  • @ablosch2452

    @ablosch2452

@@quiltedlive3966 Agreed. Here's some of the reasons why it does this sort of premise better than Laughing Jack. 1. Mr Widemouth doesn't have no powers that go unused or undefined limits or doesn't do anything that makes him like what he looks like. In fact, he doesn't have any powers but just tries to feign innocence and trick the child into being killed. 2. Mr Widemouth doesn't suddenly make his presence known and kills a bunch of people. In fact, the boy's parents never actually get any indication that he's real, and in his attempts to kill the boy, he tries to make it look like an accident so that they don't know. 3. A better omnious ending, with how the boy sort of questioned whether or not what he experienced was real, or just a fever dream or a childhood fabrication, but then when he's much older, he visits the old graveyard around where the house once stood, and sees that most of the graves were for young children, meaning that what he experienced wasn't so imaginary after all. 4. No awful prequel origin story.

I think you read a different version of the story than I remember, the one I know of follows similar beats but the kid and his mom live in britain. Throughout the story there's an abusive father / boyfriend, Jack came into the picture as a benevolent being to make the kid happy. In the beginning Jack is colorful and nice but over time due to the death of the dog and the abusive father his color fades to grey and black. He becomes more and more twisted and begins to influence the boy's actions to the point that when he's a man he because a serial killer. MrCreepyPasta does a reading on this version, not sure if you'd like the story better but I'd like to hear your opinion on the other version. Edit: Looking it up it turns out the one I heard was the "origin" of Jack, it also seems to have been written by someone else but the dog's name is the same however

By the way, I forgot to mention this. Prior to the release of that terrible prequel to it, I actually found this Creepypasta somewhat redeemable. As playing into Laughing Jack's mysterious nature then, I had this headcanon that Laughing Jack was all just a figment of the mom's imagination and not the boy's, and in truth she was the one doing all those things. Although it would evoke a plot twist similar to that of Fight Club or High Tension, it would be better than what we got. Unfortunately when the Origin of Laughing Jack came out, that completely threw my theory out the window, and in turn, left us with a worse first Creepypasta too.
