The whole idea of Squidward getting depressed because people boo'd him is out of character anyway. It has happened before, if I remember correctly, and then he just gets angry at the audience, saying that they don't know what real music is etc.

The rejection of squidward song is in reality a frequent thing in spongebob,its not like its something new for squidward

I think I know how I could make Squidward's Suicide work. Rather than having it be some random intern who went and watched the original screening, the episode was already screened long ago before the story took place. After hearing some rumors about some horrible, gruesome episode that terrified test audiences back in the series' hay-day, told like an urban legend, the intern starts to snoop around in an attempt to find the episode, just to confirm its existence. When it's inevitably found, the intern decides to leak it on fishy torrent sites after viewing the episode, only to be cursed or plagued with some sort of bad luck as the punchline. The scary part of Squidward's Suicide shouldn't be the content of the episode itself, but rather the events and superstition surrounding it.

So they actually referenced this is in “Spongebob in Randomland” So basically what happens is Spongebob and Squidward are searching for a customer to deliver food to. But he lives in Randomland and it’s well, random. So in this scene, Spongebob and Squidward are presented with many doors. Squidward opens one and its just a shot of his bedroom. But then Squidward with red realistic eyes appears and Squidward slams the door. Nickelodeon basically just said that this Pasta was random and nonsensical.

@@godzillagaming6090 Nah, I believe certain regions/distributions have it uncensored. Plus in the modern age, people are very quick to snatch, document and archive stuff like this. There are videos of the scene all over KZread. So it's very doubtful it'll be lost media.

Funny thing is if you watch Adams "childhood trauma" video series he basically had a personal experience similar to those of the people in the candle cove story and even spoke to the writer who helped make the video that he had repressed memories of.

More wind blowing. I never even noticed there was so much wind in this story. That kid that you mentioned in the Reddit episode who is afraid of wind would be terrified by this story.

23:30 unfortunately, just like with squidward's suicide and suicide mouse, the reason ed edd n eddy lost episode is still on the wiki is due to it having the "historical archive" tag as one of its categories. So sadly, no matter how many comments posted on their respective pages complain about how shitty these stories are, they won't get deleted anytime soon... 😔

That's just a really dumb reason honestly. Just because something is terrible, yet it's been around forever doesn't mean that it's free from criticism. It's only going to look more and more outdated the longer it sticks around, so just get rid of it in order to raise standards for better historical pastas.

I'm not trying to defend SS, however, a lot of the loose ends and plot holes can be explained by the fact that it's a plagerization of ''Red Mist'' which made much more sense and was creepier. In Red Mist, it is revealed that the episode was made to ruin Nickelodeon from an angry ex animator who was fired, and was also a murderer (this explains the random dead kids, as it was a way to boast his insanity and shock the Nick staff and viewers back home)

I've heard the name Red Mist before when referring to Squidward's Suicide, but whenever I looked it up, it would just take me back to the story we're all familiar with. It sounds at least somewhat like my proposal for fixing the story, so I'd like to read it if you have a link handy.

The original is very obscure but I know it exists, I even remember a reading of it here on YT. The most I was able to find was this geosheas-lost-episodes.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Mist. But that claims that it was that it's a continuation to SS not the ''original''. So far, I can't find it, but if I do, I'll keep you posted.

That's just not true. Red Mist is the ripoff, Squidward's Suicide is the original. Back in the day this was more well known, but after Red Mist started getting more attention, things got blurry on the subject.

It's funny how in the "clips" of Squidward's suicide the "hyper-realistic" eyes are some of the least realistic eyes I have ever seen

Yeah, when I first discovered Dead Bart, the picture ended up scaring me so bad, I couldn't read the story. Of course, not too long after, I decided to read the story, and it was far from good. I'm really suprised how no one brings that up about the pasta. That picture of Homer getting his face melted never ties in to the story. It feels more like a crutch than anything else

@CelebrateFallgout i think it was less that kids were scared of sonic.exe, but more of the music used in the game, you got to admit the music was absolutely *terrifying* for kids back in the day, without that, sonic.exe has absolutely *nothing* that can scare you, we see blood all the time and everyone knows that jumpscares are just a cheap trick tactic so a kid after watching it some more times would not be scared by them since it's not like FNAF where it's random when you'll get scared, but instead always in the same place, if you learn where the jumpscare is, then you have no scare. In short the music was scary, not the macaroni itself.

Certainly harmed more than helped. Categorizing all of the different tropes and cliches makes it feel like a big sarcastic game of bingo, especially when there's tropes for such random, mundane things.

2:47 is legit the very first time I’ve heard of HTF back in 2020 and now I’m in love with that show. I have been since June of 2023.

I used to sometimes watch static and pretend I was watching TV shows that aren't real as a kid. None of them were pirate themed though.

Funnily enough Candle cove is probably the only creepypasta that could be real Simply off the basis that its just the Mandela effect which DOES cause people to fabricate memories without realizing it.

Now granted, one thing that is to be duely noted here is that while the difference of between two bad creepypastas that being Jeff The Killer and Squidwards Suicide is the characters in each story. In Jeff The Killer yes you can make the argument that the characters weren't great or any purpose for why they are there but meanwhile at the same time while duely one noted and generic they still serve some sort of purpose that they are their. With Jeff his role is that he's the older that eventually goes insane because of a traumatic event. Liu is the younger and is related to Jeff. The parents are the parents. Randy Keith and Troy are the bullies aka the catalyst pushoff for why Jeff does what he does despite it being very mildly weak and pointless. In Squidwards Suicide with the main character where he doesn't serve any purpose to tell the story, and with him it's just like "I'm sorry who are you again? Oh your the main character okay sorry my bad." We don't know what role he plays into all of this we don't know what occupation he has as a person who works at Nickelodeon at the time when this story is being told at in his view of knowledge. He doesn't serve any purpose on why he's here in the story despite him being an intern at the studio, you could easily rewrite the story and have the main character where instead of the intern character that only serves a purpose of have his character be where he's a fresh face in the animation department crew and so on and have it be where the writers from season went off to other Nickelodeon animated projects and they need new animators and writers for season 4 and there that is where you introduce the character here where he gets a job at Nickelodeon as a new animator or one of the people that does the storyboard for each episode, or have him one of the artists for the show, so many options and choices for the main character if you had rewritten the story and tweaked it out a bit and change a few things.

I found this beautiful comment on the squidward's suicide page. "I would like to say something to all of you who think this is stupid and crappy. 1. The person who made this story probably spent a lot of time on it 2. They made this for you to enjoy and be entertained so be grateful 3. Everyone makes grammatical errors from time to time, they probably wanted to get it done quickly so they messed up 4. It was made up! Stop saying it is stupid because the video isn't real. 5. You should appreciate hard work, especially if it was done for you 6. Not EVERYONE is as good at writing as YOU think YOU are 7. Stop hating 8. This story is pretty creative, and I give creds for that 9. USE YOUR IMAGINATION, Of course it isn't real, but this person made it for you!! 10. How would you feel if you wrote this and I posted comments about how stupid your story is? Thank you for reading. I had no intentions of being rude so sorry if I ofended anyone." i remember searching the candle cove video a long time ago, but i could only recall a lot of noise, and after a certain point it cuts off, i think there was the kid screaming, idk, i was little at the time, and searched it as candy cove. I didn't understand what was so scary about it, or if it was creepy at all, i never knew anything about it, not even the forum posts or if there was anything 11:37 the jam was great, to me, "and be on model next time or i'll kick your ass, punk" is what stuck

Happy Tree Friends is one of my favorite shows, along with seasons 1 through 3 of Spongebob.

I will never not laugh at "hand (tentacle)" from what is supposed to be a horror story.

Do these authors not realize that gore by itself isn't scary? A lot of action media like Deadpool also have lots of gore in it.

So I enjoyed sauidwards suicide because it was the first creepypasta I had ever heard and technically I didn’t even know it was a creepypasta cause I had found it while searching in “urban legends” so at the time I didn’t know for sure it was fake because I had nothing to compare it to. The title in my opinion works really well because if you think about everything he’s gone through and the hardships he’s faced, in the real world it could very easily cause someone to take their life after finally having enough but hey that’s just me.
