Had mine done 4 days ago. Since they switched it on, I have been pain free. First time in a decade, every minute of every day having unbearable pain. I started crying when thanking the Doctors and nurses for what they have gave me, which is a chance of life back again. Early days but I am very hopeful this will be successful.

Have my second one. Neurospinal stimulator. First one in 09, second in 2013. Fell skiing and pulled wire in first one so had a new, updated model inserted. They work for me. Was in so much pain I could not sit down or drive. Burning down the piriformis muscle and the hamstrings left side. Intense nerve pain. It has been about 75% effective, but has made a huge difference for me. I am very active: biking, snowshoeing, golf, weights, etc. and this allows me the opportunity to be active. I still don’t sit as much as I would like, but can go to dinner and drive. I had no serious side effects or issues with the implant.

What about complications such as any of the following: Renal retention. Blurred vision. Tinnitus. Equalibrium problems...common. Shakes or tremors. Twitching. Fatigue. Disruption of sleep patterns. Burning feet. Leg drop. Leg drag. Poor appetite. Needles in legs. Weakness in either leg. Anxiety attacs. Loss of focus. Runny nose that starts & stays for a day or more? Have you ever collapsed? Does it feel like ribs are broken? Your neck, does the pain feel like pressure or a sharp, or aching pain. The pain is now travelling. How fast did it travel from point of origin to lower back ? Why did they suggest a stim pack for you? Intrathecal injections are a horrible idea. Not another one..ever! Lot's of questions due to the complexity of the disease Adhesive Arachnoiditis. Anything you could add would help. Oh, those Epi shots for child birth can cause AA spinal damage..

I have had zero help from my SCS. I’ve had it inside me for over 3-1/2 years, and even though it’s been adjusted more times than could be counted, it’s never provided significant pain relief (>5%). When the test unit was installed I received >80% relief, and that’s why I went ahead with it. To me it’s only been a magnifier of pain, and has made it darned near impossible to receive an MRI.

If you can find some holistically grown pot, (holistic means primarily, that the best males are not removed), you will find it helpful. One or two tokes will help a great deal IF the pot is grown with love and without chemicals or emasculation. It is impossible to get the best quality resin if the plant does not produce seed. The resin is principally a seed protectorant, and it will not mature if there are no seeds to protect. If you can find some good non-hermaphroditic stock, grow it for yourself. Pot is magic for bypassing pain when used carefully.

It can put you into a comfort zone but it is not an answer to everything; you will more than likely still need pain medication or at least in my case...Also...When they did the temp my left leg went numb and the pain was severe, but nothing an epidural didn't take care of...But...When I had the final done the exact same thing happened...But...In my right arm so will an epidural save me again? We will see. Would I do it again? I'm still working on that.

@Grumpy cat Say NO THANKS further research shows your product has a HIGH failure rate. It is your right as a Patient to deny any medical care you deem harmful.. I do it all the time, mine is more pills as I react to so many of them. Now Cortisone shots are under the cloud of microscope of causing harm. Well it should be for especially those with Glaucoma, husband's specialist says No Cortisone, Prednisone or Steroids. One 10 mg Prednisone pill will raise eye pressures from 12 to 23 overnight.

Read this: “Implanted Spinal Cord Stimulators for Pain Relief: Illustrating the FDA’s Dangerously Lax Oversight of High-Risk Implantable Medical Devices” Public Citizen, June 2020 Michael A. Carome, M.D. -The report’s overarching observation in the conclusion on page 50: “Taken together, the observations summarized in this report demonstrate that there is NOT a reasonable assurance that implanted spinal-cord stimulators for pain relief…are safe and effective for their FDA-cleared or FDA-approved uses.” Read the full report at a Public Citizen

I’ve done so much research and honestly I’m thinking of not getting it done because I hear more negativity than positive. I had emergency spine surgery in 2015 for Caudia Equania half of my legs are still numb 😞 because of the opioid epidemic here is so high the doctors won’t prescribe me pain medicine so I suffer a great deal so I’m thinking of just getting the fusion done. Or see if I can get a pain pump because you can’t overdose on it.

Linda Gazzoli I have had Cauda Equina too and had three back surgeries to help eliviate the problem, I had recently had the Medtronic Intellis Spinal Cord Stimulator implant, but you could try the trial which will let you know if the treatment works for you. My Cauda Equina caused nerve damage despite having had emergency surgery, I know it is shitty and the pain is really shitty but don't suffer and eventually the pills do more harm than good. So don't just dismiss it, try the trial that means you don't have to commit if it doesn't help.

Found out how advanced the newest stimulator are and I am having it replaced. Do excited to finally get off all meds......hopefully!

@DiversityNeverSolvedAnything Absolutely right!!! Tennessee is said to have one of the most severe laws in all 50, and it states that "compassionate" practice is expected. This opioid "crisis" is, in my opinion, a Deep State ruse, like the Covid19 scam, but, of course, longer instituted. Amazing how doctors won't think for themselves. They rely so much on the herd mentality, rational or not. Hippocrates is probably "rolling over in his grave".

I had a pain pump for 15 years. Not worth it,due to the opoid crisis they will only give you so much medication in your pain pump. They took about half of what I used to have in my pump so now I'm back on pain medication. Plus I had to try 3 different kinds of medication cause the other ones were not working. I'm thinking of having mine taken out. I feel no relief. And There is not many doctors that will put lhem in due to the results and not working. My pain pump doctor is about to retire and as far as I know their is no one to replace her. Its a 1 hrs drive now. The closest one when she retires is like 2 hrs away. I could never get someone to drive me that far and in pain. I say do not get it. You will regret it. Plus the battery needs to be replaced ever 5 to 6 yrs.
