I am not negative ..When I get a chance to tell my truth about a product, I do.That is why people are reading this board. I had a Boston Sc implant and found the software to be ancient .Charging the battery was not easy for me and in the end it didn't work for me.I had it removed. Nervo may work but do your research because people are being paid to sell these devices.

The Nevro list covers a lot of information and was super helpful. Heading in tomorrow for my trial unit and more information is always a good thing. Really appreciate the effort you guys made and while I am sure you know it means a lot as a patient (client?) at the beginning of a learning curve with all its fears and unknowns.

Yesterday 5-19-22 was my SCS Trial Test. I did not have a good nights sleep at all. I did sleep until 2 am without pain but from 2:00 on I was in pain until I finally got up at 6. They told me it should subside on Saturday. I will see how it does then. I wasn’t able to turn over in bed or get out of bed without holding on to the night stand before the Trial Test so I had to have help getting in and getting out of bed. Turning over was torture since I had to do it on my own. I can hardly wait to see if it is better by Saturday or Sunday.

I have a Nevro Spinal Cord Stimulator. I have had it for almost four years. I'm 60 years old and fairly active. The stimulator worked very well for three and one half years. The leads have slipped down and I am getting shocked several times a day for about four months now. I am also having more back and leg pain than before. I have contacted and left a message with Nevro and they have not contacted me in return. I would not recommend a stimulator.

Yes, that’s very common when you start having problems with these things they don’t want to hear from you. Nevro is one of the worst. I suggest joining the failed spinal cord stimulator groups on fb if you’re on there.

I am on day 2 of my trial. I suffer from severe pain due to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and 2 failed fusions. My "normal" pain level is 8/10.I suffer from a gene mutation that does not allow me to metabolize opiates or NSAIDS. Doses high enough to kill someone don't even phase me, nor do they even show up on a drug screen. I don't know were this is gonna go, but for the first time in I don't know how long, I woke up this morning and realized that I was not in pain.

Dear Mr. MCRoberts,You said you put the electrode into T9 to T11 and it depend... Myself, I resected an intrameduallary tumor which is located at T10-T11 & doctor couldn't remove it all since I will be paralysed. 10% have been left. I did it at John Hopkins under neuromonitoring.. My question is, if I can put the electrode at T10-T11. Post surgery I still suffer from pain & doctor say that my only hope is stimulator.. Does tumor location at this area make difference. I have seen different spinal cord stimulator which they place electrode in other places, C5 to C6... or something like that but I know every one is different..I believe the T10-T11 is a place which is directly related to central pain, since I am suffering from same pain since 2010.It is hard pain, low back pain , hip pain, thigh tightening..Only when sitting my pain is there.. I believe the pressure is wrongly sent to my brain since when anything toch my hips saddle lower back, I feel pain which aggravate with time.. (after 2 to 4 hours)I have too a skin irritation related to pain.. When the pain is high, my toe become red skin, my thigh too & my Knee.. The skin become very red.. I believe it is related to Autonomic nervos system which they call it CRPS & even for light touch I become hypersense..Am I a candidate for your stimulator. Please advise.. I can send you my MRI pre & post surgery if required..thanks

I'm at the end of day one of my trial with Nevro HF10™. I am personally very excited and hopeful about this experience. No, I don't expect all my pain to suddenly disappear, but even a 50% deduction would be a miracle. I have dealt with back back and chronic pain for 10+ years and now, nothing else has helped except occasional spinal injections - now I'm finally being offered a reprieve. Thank you.

How are the plastic leads attached to the spinal canal so they don't fall out when you're walking or doing any light activity during the trial period?

  • @wportermcroberts

The percutaneous ones, placed by a pain interventionist are not attached to anything intraspinally. And they can move with you. Those placed either by a neurosurgeon or spine surgeon require cutting of the bone and fixation. The percutaneous leads can be easily removed, the paddle/surgical leads require another spine surgery. The migration rate of percutaneous leads is 11% nationally and less than 3% in experienced hands.

Pain and pressure....They tell you if you have 50% relief from trial that's good. Try thinking if you have that relief in one week of trial...It was very difficult for me.Hope can help you but it can hurt you.

I did a trial with the Boston Scientific, which was bad, the leads migrated instantly.. like from the table to the bed. They repositioned the leads twice on the same day. On the ride home the moved again, the move again, to the point the Rep pulled them the next day in my kitchen (it was on a saturday)

  • @wportermcroberts

This is not the usual scenario. The leads should be fixed to the skin with suture. This greatly reduces migration, also a shallow angle of attack. Find someone who has done >1000 trials and more than 10 years of experience and go there if you are reconsidering a retrial. Best of luck!!

I think I have! Thank you for your response. The doctor said the same thing, that I had a bad trial. He said he would be an expert if there was any question about doing it again so quickly. I hope that the experience with Boston was just a horrible experience. Two years ago the doctor that is going to do the NervO , told me that it was it was brand new and I would be the first one to try it in Birmingham, I should have done it then, but being a chicken. Your youtube is so good! I appreciate it greatly

Can someone tell me how long the trial is? I feel like a week is too short. I watched an implantation surgery, and it looks like the pain from the stiches and being cut open like that would mask any effects of the stimulator. I was told it's a one-week trial. One week seems short. the incision looks large. it also seems like the students are uncomfortable to adjust to. This is pain that is completely different from the pain that the stimulator is an attempt to correct. I was also told by the representative that the success rate is 80%. I find this outrageous as when I talked to people in the medical field who aren't getting a kick back by promoting the stimulators I was told the success rate is mixed and closer to 40%. Anyhow, I'm really interested in finding out how long the trial is.

It will be 2 years in February that I got my Nevro spinal stimulator. The trial was great. I would say it helped my pain by like 80 percent. I can't say the same with the permanent one. I have no pain relief. I have had it adjusted 5 times. Nothing. I am at the point I just want it removed. I am so frustrated. Sometimes the pain is more intense. Good luck to anyone who gets this. For some people it works great. Just not for me. Removal is the next route.

A very good question WF. Occasionally yes. There is a prospective trial being performed right now to evaluate just that. But at present it is NOT FDA approved. Doctors are performing it "off label" at present, which while both legal and commonly accepted, is not condoned by the FDA.With good data, that may change. The best of luck.
