Late Night Munchies: South Korea Edition
Ойын-сауық
DJ and club manager Sun Gin and club owner Mino head out for a night on the town, dining at local culinary gems that dot the streets of Busan until long in the afterhours. Mino and Sun Gin head Output, one of Busan’s biggest and most popular nightclubs that hosts DJs from all over the world. Entertaining international artists with delicious Korean food is a welcome part of their job description and this time VICE is along for the tour.
They start the night with comforting mouthfuls of pork gukbap in Seomyeon and pat-bingsu in xxx, before driving out to the Haeundae District for fresh steamed snails and a live barbecued spicy garlic octopus - all washed down with rice wine, bottles of soju and a night swim at the beach. That’s just the Busan way.

As someone who lived in Busan for 4 years. I’m so happy they are giving the city its recognition that it deserves. Not only is Busan a beautiful city but the people are the most warm hearted individuals you would ever meet. So happy that I graduated from PNU

Idk about the people being nice I’d think they’re very cold and distant nothing like you’d see in a small town and honestly I prefer Japan for culture and the city but for a chef, you’d definitely wanna choose Korea and starting out in Busan

@@jayjyuri8796 sound jealous to me of Korean culture...I bet you have never been to Busan.
The fact that they went to like 3 or 4 different places to eat is everynight life of korea. When I visited, I was so shocked how many places we went to so we can eat and drink. It's crazy how i've kept going thinking I was going to get full. But no, all the food was light enough to eat plenty and the alcohol is fairly low content to drink all night. Loved south korea and cant wait to go back some day.
The food they eat while on a night out is healthier than my day to day meals smh

Yo this girl is awesome she explains things really well and has a really chill vibe
Looks amazing ! but Damn that live octopus part was horrible, I felt for the little guy.
i really like this part of munchies as they expanding all over the world to show what is MUNCHIES all about.. Whether it's chefs night out or just Late night out eating at some awesome late night opening restaurants with some awesome people who knows what's good food..
My parents (now passed) both lived in Seoul. They emigrated to the United States in the late 50's (dad) and mom in the early 60's (first Canada then to the U.S.). While they lived most of their lives in America, they would try to return to Korea every so often. My dad would always tell me how he took the train to Busan and was amazed at the nightlife in the city. He would go drinking and eat. This is such a great episode as it brings up those memories of my parents and how proud they would be on how many great restaurants dot all of South Korea. All good while drinking!
2:06 'buchu' is Garlic chive 2:25 that is 'Soondae'. Basically kind of Sausage of Korea. there are a lot version of 'Soondae' and that one is mainly filled with Pork Blood, Dang-myeon (Strach noodle), Glutinous rice, and veggies in pork intestine which is the most common version you can find. (I love that one too but personally I recommend the version more ground pork in it. they looks whiter and meaty so you can see the difference easily. they often called 'Gogi Soondae' which means 'Meat Soondae') cheap factory made version of soondae on the streets are not very impressive but if you go to good 'DwaeJi-Gookbob' place like that one, most of them make their own Soondae and has nice warm taste 2:33 I've been there many times over 15 years, I like that place too. but not the richest pork of Seo-myeon area to be honest. 10:20 no one eats 'San NakJi' like that 'Old boy' savage shit, it looks like he was too excited to be on the video so had to do some crazy shit for it lol. when you order it to eat it raw it is usually chopped off into small bites and served in sesame oil, that's too dangerous to eat like that cus as the Nakji still alive they can stick to your throat. so don't try at home. thanks for the great video! I love their Vibes

My ex's parents had to hold the lid down on a octopus getting boiled alive about 8 years ago in Busan. I came close to my own littler mermaid horror story dinner at Boryeong mud festival but stuck to shell fish 😂

So awesome to see. I had the chance to grow up in Seoul for 5 years and they seriously work-hard play-hard - great food, beverages and vibes!!!
Super cool insight to Busan. Awesome episode, love seeing how we all globally have a night out with good food and people
my family is from Busan -- the memories! Thanks for showcasing, Munchies. I would correct the title to say "Busan, South Korea" addition, though. This is a very Busan-style experience, especially the pork and seafood focus.
Need a standalone series for South Korea..
Beautiful people, amazing food, great scene! More from these awesome folks please!
The homemade Patbingsu looks amazing!! I have had many late nights in South Korea and this had missing it so much!!

Ahh I miss Busan! It was so fun! 다시 부산에 가고싶은데 돈이 필요해서 열심히 해야 되요.
Eom Hyon-Yong definitely channeling his inner Oh Dae-su with that little octopus. 🐙 This makes me miss drunken nights with Korean friends back in Seoul! Wish I had got to spend more than a few days in Busan. It's a great city! Oh..and where's the hotteok?! Best I ever had was in Busan. 🤤
Amazing people and amazing food! Def need to visit one day! 😋🥳
Wow, the food looks amazing!! Cool vibes on this vid!! 👍
The food looks great fresh and delicious,a lot of color and flavor.2when things are prepared the old school style ,is the best way to get a great dish.3.The sea food have’s it’s own style and fresh looks delicious.4. Learning about who everything is in a different country.
