POV I tried my best this is my first pov lol >- Modern AU! GN Reader (he calls u duchess once, so fem coded reader is a bit more accurate) “So, are you getting on?” The Duke of Meropide revved his motorcycle, a smirk curving his lips. You said nothing but didn’t get on, standing there awkwardly. His grin grew. “What don’t tell me you, Warden of the Fortress of Meropide, slayer of foes, so called Duchess of Meropide, is scared to get on a motorcycle?” He teased, leaning back in the seat. You scoffed, your cheeks pink but refusing to back down from a challenge. Because that’s what it all was when it came to Wriothesley, a challenge. You swung a leg over the side of the motorcycle, accepting the helmet that Wriothesley hands you. “Hold on tight.” Wriothesley said, leaving you barely a moment to clench your arms around his waist before zooming off. Wind played with the strands of hair escaping your helmet, and Wriothesley laughed. His laugh was like the wind in your hair, sharp and clear and playful. Wriothesley turned his head to glance back at you, before quickly turning his eyes back to the road, swerving and speeding across the empty lanes of the highway. It was late, so late that no one else was out on the highways connecting Fontaine to Sumeru. “You okay back there, darling?” He said over his shoulder, teasing you with the little pet names he thought you hated. “Yeah!” You yelled over the rush of wind around the bike. Wriothesley slowed as you approached a curve in the highway, turning and drifting into the turn just to speed off once again. After driving for a while, you approached a nondescript, slightly rusty looking lift. Wriothesley stopped and got off the motorcycle, popping off his helmet and offering a hand to you, a dazed smile on his lips. You accepted his hand, your legs slightly shaky from the ride. You pulled off your helmet and smiled up at him. He looked like you had hit im the heart, a look so unguarded, so vulnerable with affection it was startling to see on the fierce Duke of Meropide’s face. “Are… Are you okay?” You ventured tenderly, unsure what to say. Wriothesley lifted his hand to your face, cupping your chin with one hand and bringing you closer. He paused close enough you could feel his warm pants on your face. “Is this okay?” He murmured, not wanting to push you. “Yes.” You said breathlessly, pulling him closer by the lapels of his suit and kissing him. The taste of him hit you suddenly, all salt and sugar and was that… tea? His tongue intertwined with yours, pushing and pulling for control. Once you pulled away from each other he was grinning like a fool. “Shall we continue this inside?” He grabbed your hand and moved with you to the elevator, pressing a button and watching as the doors closed. Once on the right floor he led you to his office, locking the door behind him. He kissed you again, gently pinning you against the wall. He groaned against your lips, winding his arms around your hips and picking you up, all while still kissing you. He laid you against his desk, papers and pens falling off the surface. He loosened his tie, breathily heavily and trapping you between his arms. He leaned closer, placing his lips on your neck and nipping you slightly, trailing wet kisses and bites all the way to your collarbone. “Please, Wriothesley…” you wrapped your arms around his neck, bringing your bodies closer together. He chuckled. “Well, how quiet do you think you can be, darling?” He murmured against your skin. Right before he ripped off all your clothes and made sure everyone in the fortress could hear you. (ik i'm almost a week late no need to point it out lol just found this) - modern day btw pov/au btw ! as every other weekday, you were on your way home from a rather exhausting, long and busy day from work as a lawyer at the Opera Epicles in Fontaine, City of Water, as you have known it all your life. the clouds were covering the dark sky, the light of some stars shining through and thus illuminating the scenery in front of you, if just by a little. as you used your phone to listen to music with your headphone, a loud revering sound could be heard and your head snapped to the side almost instantly, confused and shocked at the same time. "what kind of stupid idiot drives this insanely at night?", you then mumbled to yourself in pure annoyance, trying to see who it was underneath the helmet. and then, the stranger was revealed: your husband and eccentric motorcycle driver, wriothesely. "hey there, darling. did i startle you?" that was his deep and calm voice calling out to you, a faint smirk having found its way on his lips as you complained. he heard it all, you weren't exactly subtle about it with the irritated glance you then proceeded to give him. "wrio- we talked about this. DON'T drive by so quickly when i'm trying to walk home. can't you just slow down like a normal person?" your voice was now a bit louder compared to your mumble before, making sure he heard each and every single word that came out of your mouth. you raised a single eyebrow at him, having taken off your headphone for the time being to be able to listen to him explaining himself to you. but alas, being the playful guy he is, he did not in fact do so. "oh come on. you're acting as if you almost got hit by me, which you did not, may i just say", he pointed a finger at his motorbike, a light shoulder shrug following his words. "you were on the sidewalk, weren't you? i merely wanted to surprise my lovely partner and pick them up for a ride. what's so wrong with that?" as he finished talking and asked that question in the end, which you knew was a rhetorical one, you just sighed out loud and facepalmed yourself, rubbing your face in the process as you so often did when wriothesely was in your presence. "nothing with that, really. just.. don't startle me like that anymore. i'm gonna get a heart attack one way or another soon if you keep this up", you then replied in a more soft and calm tone of voice, your facial expression one of gentleness now that this situation has been cleared, somehow. a moment later he was already handing you an extra helmet he kept with him, in case you ever wanted to go for a ride with him. you gladly accepted it with a small smile and got on the vehicle, right behind him. your headphones were placed in your bag on your shoulder, which was tight around your shoulder, unable to fall off. "now, hold on tight to me, darling. this will be a fast one", wriothesely told you as soon as you got yourself ready, your arms wrapped around his upper chest and head laying against his back. with a nod of your head, he started driving off, the sound of the motor echoing in the air as you both drove through the city on a late evening, sounds of people chatting around you both fading into the distance. you felt his warm presence, heard his voice talking to you and you immediately felt at peace. "i've got a surprise for you at home, actually. can't wait to show you. i know you'll just love it, darling." wriothesely broke the serene silence with his words, and as soon as they did, your heartbeat accelerated in anticipation of what he meant, though his statement could have a wholesome and inappropriate meaning to it. 'i'll find out' you just thought to yourself. and that you did. not even 20 minutes later, you both found yourselves in front of your home, wriothesely having helped you getting off and taking both your and his helmet to attach it to the steering apparatus. then he took you inside and gently pulled you against a wall. "ready for your surprise, darling?" and ready you were, as not a second later, your lips were his in a captured kiss, a long and passionate one at that. that would end in a really intimate night.. soo i'm really sorry for the immense length BUT i hope y'all enjoyed nonetheless ! let me know what you think and if you liked it

POV! Rlly long ~ setting is a modern teyvet ~ enjoyyyy --------------------------------- Vroooooooeeeeemmmm “She went to heaven and back~” You sang. Your bike speeds down the streets of the city of hydro, known as Fontaine. Even though it was late at night, you could see every corner and crevice of the city because of the illuminating lights everywhere. Your fingers grasp the bike handles firmly and your body is bent over on the bike comfortably. Headlights passed by you swiftly every second, white, red, green, yellow and so many other colors at once. The air whizzed past your ears and it smelled like a summer night with a hint of gasoline. You felt a million pairs of eyes on you as you flew through the city. It was like a drug to you, all the attention. You loved it. It was exhilarating riding your bike, especially at night. “Damn it, I can’t make this red light”. You said as you pulled the clutch on your bike in, slowing down. You put your kickstand down and fully stop right at the white line. Cars going in the same direction as you come to a stop as well. Then cars with a green light start driving by as you sigh and wait. Suddenly, sirens begin to wail around the bend. “Huh, wonder who those cops are after…”. You say as some police cars speed by with their sirens on. “thank god it ain't me!” you laugh. … “Ugh when will the light change?! I’m gonna be late and that's NOT GOOD because then NEUVILLETTE will UPSET” you pout and you roll your eyes at the (non living) red light hoping it would speed up the process. Finally, the light turns green. You kick your bike stand up, press on the gas, balance your bike and you're off again. “You have arrived at your destination” your navigator said in your helmet. You pull into a huge parking lot, and look up in awe. In front of you was a gigantic building, and it looked like if an opera house and a hotel had a baby together. But anyway it was beautiful. There was valet parking in front of the building, but you cruised around the parking lot yourself and found a parking spot. You hop off your bike, lock it and walk to the front “This magic show better be good because I gave up my friday night for this” you mumble, talking to yourself. But you have heard some amazing things about this famous magic show so you had your hopes up. You reach the front entrance. And there are some servants standing at the door and greet you, “May I take your coat madame?” the servant asks “No thank you sir I’v got it” you say politely and waltz in. “now, wheeeere to find my boss…” “y/n?” a familiar voice says a couple feet in front of you. Your eyes widen and you whip your head up in the direction of the voice. “Woah calm down I’m not gonna attack you”. The man says with a calm voice and a chuckle. “Wriothesley, hey!” you giggled at his comment, and look at him “I- …yo-...” o h m y g o d was all you thought as you really got a chance to look at him. Your face was heating up and you felt butterflies in your stomach HE LOOKS SO HOT BUT OH MY GOD Y/N LOOK AWAY “AHEM- *cough cough* you are here??” you try hiding your flustered state by pretending you are surprised instead. You think he fell for it, or maybe he didn't. You really hope he did though. “Someone is nervous that I am here? Why's that? Are you hiding something? Did you break the law?” Wriothesley spoke. “NO! I wouldn't do that, I literally work for the mayor! Do you really think I would break the law??” you frantically respond “Heh you know I’m just kidding”. He spoke with that stupid voice again, making you almost buckle at your knees. But he took your silence as another opportunity to tease you, “unless?...” he smirked “Huh?...UH- NO I DIDN'T BREAK THE LAW WRIOTHESLEY! I was just lost in my thoughts for a second”. You say and roll your eyes. As you looked at the ground however, you couldn't help but feel like there was an intense gaze on you. Was it Wriothesley? Or someone else?... you got shivers up your spine. And then… “Attention ladies and gentlemen! The show will be delayed for a bit due to preparation issues! We are sorry for the inconvenience but please be ready and seated for when the show starts, thank you!” the loud speaker announced. “Aw, well that sucks. Well I'm not even watching the show so it doesn't matter, I'm just here to help out with the security”. You say “Oh look at you being promoted. Neuvillette asked you to help with security?” Wriothesley spoke. “Hah yeah. But I haven't even found him yet” you answer “I’m gonna go find out where I have to go, you are here to help out with security too right?” you ask “Yes, although I can't promise i'm gonna stay here the entire show…” he says “Why?” you ask “Well if something more important comes up I’m gonna have to leave. You know, I’m pretty busy. I'm like a celebrity for criminals”. He says. You laugh at his sarcasm, but wonder what else he would be doing on a Friday night that's so important. Then you remembered the cop cars that passed you on your way here, and decided to ask about them out of curiosity “oh, Wriothesley I saw cop cars pass me on my way here, what's happening with them?” “Hm, those…” he hummed Suddenly a serious look appeared on his face and his eyes widened a little “Well It actually looks like my important thing has come up. Thanks for that y/n.” he says in a more serious tone “Wait actually?? But the show hasn't even begun…” you say disappointed you are not gonna spend more time with him. “Hah”, he laughs at your reaction. “Yes seriously, I have to get going”. He begins walking away from you, “Have a good night and keep guard y/n, see ya”. he says and turns around. You sigh, sad that you don't get to spend more time with your crush. You start wondering and get kind of worried about why he had to leave so quickly. You get another chill up your spine, and your gut has a bad feeling about tonight. ……………………………………………….. .+*later*+. ……………………………………………….. The show was completely over by now, and everyone had left. You spoke with your boss Neuvillette, and left out the front doors. “Finally I get to go home” you sigh. It was well around midnight and you were beyond exhausted. Even though everyone left to go home from the big show, the city was still bustling with liveliness. You get on your bike, and pull up to the parking lot exit. Then your phone starts buzzing “Ugh, who's calling me now?” you ask. It was Wriothesley “um that's weird, why him and why now? Mmm.. guess I'll pick it up”. “Hello, y/n?” PART 2 IN REPLIES

“Hi Wriothesley?” “Remember that thing earlier? Yeah well I need you to chase a criminal down like now. He is coming your way” he says “WHAT?? Are you crazy? Me? Chase a criminal?” you exclaim. “Listen i'm sorry this is really sudden-” “YES VERY SUDDEN!” “You're riding your bike right now, right? So you can catch him”. “What if he is armed??” “You're going to be fine, now please stop him. I'm on my way”. Wriothesley hangs up. (10:26) “WTH ME?? CHASING A CRIMINAL? Does he know Im not a fricken cop?” you sigh, waiting to turn out of the parking lot. Then you see straight ahead a speeding car. That was the criminal. You press on the gas and go straight towards him, stopping in the middle of the road and you use your bike to block the road. The criminal's car doesn't slow down, in fact it starts to speed up and you get worried, but then the car makes a sharp turn into another street. “Shit” you say as you quickly whip your bike around, and hit the gas. The wind flew past you. you were going to try to cut him off again. But as you sped down the roads, the criminal’s car swerved out from another road in front of you. That plan failed, so now you decide to just tail him for a bit. The car turns to left, then right, then left again, and goes down so many random roads trying to lose you. But he underestimated you because you got closer and closer to him with every turn or trick he made. You were only six feet away from the criminal's car now. He suddenly swerved into you, almost making you lose control, but you gripped the handles on your bike harder and got balanced again. Then you saw an opportunity. There was a turn up ahead, as well as a shortcut through to the turn that could get you in front of the car. You pulled the handle hard, and sped up into the shortcut. The criminal also sped up when he realized what you were doing. As you both drive as fast as you can, your adrenaline has never felt so high before. You got closer and closer, and finally you pulled out of the shortcut, out onto the road. using all your force, you pull on the brake, turn your bike, and swerve to full stop. Right in front of the criminal. The car screeched to a full stop. You step off your bike and slowly approach the car. Then before the criminal could try to back up and leave, Wriothesley pulled up behind the car and stopped. The criminal then opens the car door, in an attempt to leave and run, but you and Wriothesley cornered him against the car before he can even try. The criminal looked very pissed and then looked at you. You guess he thought you would be an easy target to take down rather than Wriothesley, so he charges at you with his fist. Firstly, you dodged him. Secondly, Wriothesley tasered him and the criminal went to eat the floor. “Wow. I watched you the whole time and gotta admit you're pretty good for a rookie. What do you think about joining me instead of Neuvillette eh?” Wriothesley says “Hah yeah right I know you are being sarcastic and I’m sticking to my SAFE job” you say, although It would be your dream to work alongside Wriothesley. “Heh you really think I’m being sarcastic? You know I would also really love it if I had a secretary…” he says now smirking “Uh huh your SECRETARY? Wriothesley? Me??” you ask surprised “No, I'm actually talking to that criminal passed out on the floor right there.” he says with his signature sarcasm, “Yes, y/n you” “I- really?” you gasp “Yes i'm being serious” Wriothesley says “...yes! I would love to” you say, all surprised and flustered, just by the thought of working with him. “You're getting all red again.. Is it maybe because of.. me?” Wriothesley questions with a stupid smug look on his face “What?! I- no! Omg..” you say as you facepalm yourself. YES it was because of him. But you're not gonna say that and you think he just jokes about this stuff. You couldn't look him in the eye right now, or else you might pass out. After a while of waiting, some other cops come by to take care of this whole mess with the passed out criminal lying on the floor. “I'm so tired I don’t know how I'm going to drive home…” you sigh, struggling to walk in a straight line. “Want a ride then darling?” Wriothesley asks out of the blue. What did he just call me?? Darling? Oh my god I'm going to get all red again, but I could use the ride.. “I'll take your silence as a yes please. Don't worry about your bike i'll take care of it, now let's go” Guess he decided for you. You didn't mind though, you definitely weren't complaining. You hop on the back of his bike, but you didn't know how to hold on to him. Suddenly, as if he read your mind he grabbed your hands and wrapped them around his chest. You become a blushing mess again, and you can sense the smug look on his face. Was he flirting like this on purpose? Does he know what he is doing to me?! Whatever, I'm too tired to think. You then started heading home. Late night drives through the city is an aesthetic i adore, and seeing this combined with Wriothesley makes it so much better.

hi!! i made a pov! it's a bit long. there’s a little bit of subtle romance, but not much, as i wanted this to have a greater portion of action. wrio is in this one with you as his detective/sidekick, and you’re currently in a motorcycle chase!! ____________ “We can’t let them get away!” The determined voice of your companion broke through the deafening roar of the wind as he zoomed through the opulent city of Fontaine, with you propped up on the pillion behind him, gun at the ready. Wriothesley’s hands, calloused yet determined from years of being a cop, tightened their grip on the handles of the bike to rev it. With a fierce roar emanating from the engine, the lights around you became a blur as the motorcycle’s wheels sped up their pursuit. Relentlessly following the masked miscreant in his attempt to escape, a sharp turn ensued. You lean your weight to the side so as to aid in not completely topping over the bike. Unfortunately for you both, the craven crook has a damned companion as well… She turns around, aiming her gun towards your direction. The sharp noises of thwacking metal ring through your ears as incandescent bullets ricochet off of the road with hot sparks. A few nearly miss your head. Wriothesley clicks his tongue, vexed due to the building pressure of a thrilling yet annoying chase. “Tch… Of course they’re shooting.” He groans, making yet another sharp turn, the wind wildly whipping through your hair. The bullets continue with no intent on halting, prompting you to lift a hand from his waist in reach of your gun. With sharp eyes, you aim at the masked woman, shooting in return. As if with the swiftness of light, a bullet finally approaches your forehead. Your eyes widen in shock at the sudden sight of death. The thud of your heart echoes in your ears. …How did you get here again? Ah, right. This had all started with that blasted case. A dangerous smuggling case connected to the Arachnide Cramoisi-the vicious syndicate plaguing this city under their wretched hands. Of course, as one of the most renowned detectives in this city, you tackled the case head-on, wanting to get a headstart on pruning one of the main branches of the heinous organisation. Still, even on its own, smuggling lethal bombs into a factory isn’t exactly the best thing ever. After weeks of exhausting research on related cases, interrogating suspects with Wriothesley, and following any leads desperately as if you were some kind of mutt, you had finally reached a conclusion as to who the culprit… or, rather, culprits were. You snap back into the present when the bullet in front of you freezes, halting it mid-air. “Careful. Don’t want a hole in your head, now, do we? Focus!” Wriothesley’s strong voice shouts through the air. His extended hand that was behind him to freeze the bullet went back to the bike’s handle as the chase continued. Aligning the front sight of your gun with your focused eyes once more, your nimble fingers pull at the trigger repeatedly. Finally, you manage to hit your target just as Wriothesley corners them into a dead end. A cry of distress can be heard through the ruckus. A stain of scarlet forms around the woman’s elbow, spreading across her sleeve akin to the branches of a blossoming tree. She leans forward in pain, causing the motorcycle to lose its balance. The driving criminal swerves to the right erratically, the vehicle narrowly missing the Fountain of Lucine and instead crashing against an aged wall of the city. Wriothesley slams his foot on the brakes, yanking on the clutch harshly as the motorcycle turned to the side, coming to an abrupt halt with a loud screech and a puff of wafting grey smoke. A sigh left his lips as he put the kickstand down, propping a foot on the ground as he got up. The sound of his silver accessories emitted a charming jingle as he approached the scene, his boots thudding heavily against the pavement in contrast. You followed, getting off the bike as well and standing by his side. Swinging his handcuffs with his fingers, he looked down upon the panicking criminals, his voice smooth as always. “...It’s a shame your motorcycle crashed, huh? Seems like you’re out of places to run away to.” The woman leans against her partner, clutching at her bleeding shoulder. Glaring daggers at Wriothesley, her partner scrambles to his feet as he begins to raucously shout. “You damn cops are all the same, always so insensitive! Maybe I should tell them to kill everyone you love, eh? Or maybe I should tell them to get rid of your little detective here?” he said as he gestured to you with his chin. At the threat, his sharp eyes narrowed into thin blue slits as he lunged forward, grasping the man’s jaw betwixt his fingers. Piercing into his already quivering soul, Wriothesley’s clutch tightened as he coldly whispered a hidden threat in reciprocation. His voice was low and husky-a warning. “...Don’t you dare get it twisted. Just because I’m nice doesn’t mean I can’t get wicked.” Swallowing his already weakened pride, the man nods, albeit reluctantly. “Good,” Wriothesley firmly stated, turning the criminal around and opening his cuffs. “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an…” he continued, locking the handcuffs in place around the criminal’s wrists. After a few minutes of the wrongdoers’ bickering filling the silence, a police squad approaches, dressed in their usual navy blue uniforms lined with gold. Fontaine guards. They finally take away the two, even as they scowled defiantly, leading them in the direction to go to the Fortress of Meropide. Another crew arrives in regards to the mess with the motorcycles. “I could really use some tea right about now,” Wriothesley said as he put a hand under his chin in thought. “I’ve recently gotten my hands on a rather exquisite blend…” “...What happened? Earlier, I mean. When he threatened you.” you quickly ask, curious about the sudden change of demeanour he had. A sigh left his lips as he began to walk towards a random destination. “Hm? Ah, well… Criminals like him, they don’t mess with those that have power. No doubt about it. Why do you think he’d smuggle bombs into Fontaine so obediently?” “Are you sure? You seemed to get rather worked up over what he said.” you queried suspiciously, following him. “...That doesn’t matter. It all worked out just fine in the end.” he lazily remarked, not wanting to delve too far into detail. “Hm. Alright, Wriothesley. You don’t want to explain. I get it.” With a light chuckle, he continued to stroll among the streets of Fontaine, eventually stopping to lean on a railing where you’d get a good sight of the city’s grandeur. His head tilted up to observe the myriad of stars in the inky sky. “...Alright, fine. I can understand why he threatened me. He was panicking. Desperate to not get arrested.” Wriothesley started, clasping his hands together. “Even so, I don’t take too kindly to threats. Especially ones regarding the people I care about.” His eyes flitted to your own before focusing back on the night sky. A soft breeze passes by, sweeping through his black hair. “You’ve helped me a lot over the years… And, I must admit, it is thrilling to have you by my side during one of our routine chase scenes. I wouldn’t trade them, or you, for anything.” A smile tugged at his lips as he spoke of you. It’s hard to tell, but you swear you can see a familiar warmth lying within those icy blue eyes. “Oh? Are you trying to say you care for me, Wriothesley?” you quipped smugly, cocking your head to the side. Your eyes couldn't help but narrow in teasing. “You’re quick as always.” Clearing his throat, he turned his head towards you. “Speaking of your skills, there’s another case brewing. It’s related to-” “The Arachnide Cramoisi? Don’t tell me it’s another smuggling case?” Finishing his sentence, you crossed your arms as you awaited further explanation. “...No. It’s not another smuggling case. This time, it’s much more deep-rooted within the organisation than just simply smuggling,” he began once more, his voice turning solemn. “Neuvillette managed to figure out some aspects of one of their best assassins, after looking into a… rather brutal murder case. However, he couldn’t pinpoint their exact identity. The assassins within are too concealed to easily figure out who they are.” A brief pause ensued before he proceeded. “…But even so, he thinks we can perhaps trace the assassin back to the Arachnide Cramoisi itself once we figure out their identity.” “I see. And you’re asking me for my help? Both in figuring out who the assassin is, and pinpointing Arachnide Cramoisi’s base?” Your mind was already brimming with ideas of the future, envisioning spending long hours hunched over a desk in the dusty archives with Wriothesley. And all the back pain. “Of course I am. It’s not going to be easy, I’m certain, but… You’re the best detective I know.” he reassured, crossing his arms. “Hmph… Well, when you shower me with compliments… Who am I to deny such a desperate request, hm?” you shrugged as you raised your hands in mock surrender. “Oh? What, is that the way to get to your heart? Showering you with compliments?” He chortled, his lips turning up in a faint smirk. The night went on. Despite all the recent events, your body was itching to start another case. After all, that is the nature of a detective-curious to find out the inner workings of secretive mechanisms. And what is the Arachnide Cramoisi, if not the pinnacle of secrets themselves? Even so, it’s no doubt true that the most hidden mechanisms are the most complicated to take apart. Hours of work doesn’t always guarantee success. It’ll be hard, figuring out how to take them down. One of the hardest cases you’ve had throughout your entire career. …But you’re certainly not one to give up easily.
