"Honey, I'm home!" You shouted. Though there wasn't a reason to. He was waiting for you by the front door. "Where were you? It's late" his tone was sort of harsh. "Sorry I lost track of time" you apologized, approaching him slowly until you were right in front of him. He already looked annoyed at your "excuse" at least that's how he saw it. "Who were you with?" He asked. "I was hanging out with Kaveh. We just had a few drinks, got some food and I bought him the same charm on his key" his eyes narrowed and his eyebrows furrowed at the mention of his name. He didn't need to hear the rest, you were already in trouble. "Stay away from him" he demanded. His voice was harsh and authoritative. "What why? We're just friends" you said. He roughly grabbed your chin and pulled you closer to him with a hand around your waist. "Does it look like I care?" You looked into his eyes and not a shred of care was in them. "N-no" you stumbled on your words as you spoke. "You're lucky that I'm not gonna punish you. I'll let you off with a warning this time" Alhaitham is a very territorial man when it comes to things that belonged to him. You fell into that category, he wasn't about to let you around Kaveh, he despised him and a work of art doesn't need to be around people he doesn't like. He leaned in closer to you to where your lips were inches apart. "You're mine and mine alone" he reminded you. "Jealous?" You asked. In a way you were teasing him. "Why would I be jealous of him? If anything I'm not jealous but I don't like it when he's around what's mine" a smirk painted his face. Your attempt to tease him amused him. He could also tell that you were enjoying being manhandled by him by the way your cheeks were flushed and your heavy breathing. You clearly wanted more but he wasn't gonna let you have more as a form of an example of what could happen if you were around Kaveh again. He gave you a peck on the lips and let you go. You didn't realize how tight his grip on your jaw was until he let go, causing you to rub it. "I'm gonna take a shower, love" as he left the room you began to sort of calm down. You wanted more than just a peck on the lips, much more but you knew that he wasn't going to give you more.

- HAHAAH POV TIME - TW: uhh some spicy bits but not too much -- The time was near dusk, the sun was setting over the horizon and the sky turned from hues of orange and pink to a dark navy blue with stars flicked across the sky by Celestia herself. You were in Academia library, quietly packing your things and swiftly leaving the room behind. ( sorry i havent indulged in Sumeru’s quest yet my bad dawgs ) While on your way out of the Academia, you could feel the presence of eyes on your figure. You chose to ignore it as you were tired and just watched to return home. ( yes you have a home in sumeru cause why not ) When you finally returned to your home, the jingling on your keys were the only thing that broke the silence as you closed your door behind you. Your house was dark and had a weird aura to it. The only thing that illuminated the entire place was the lines of moonlight that shone through the open windows. As you shove your keys in your bag before setting it down, you raise your head to spot a shadowed figure sitting on your couch. Of course you were startled by this. ‘ ‘ WHO ARE YOU?! REVEAL YOURSELF! ‘ ‘ You loudly shouted, the sound of fear could be heard in your words. The dark figure rose from where it rested, slowly making its way to your body. You, being scared of what was happening, backed your way into the back of your door. When the body was close enough to you, the moonlight shone across the man’s face, revealing him to be Alhaitham. ‘ ‘ Gods Alhaitham, you nearly scared the p¡ss out of me.. ‘ ‘ You let out a sigh of relief as you continued to study his face. It had a stern look to it, yet his eyes were filled with mischievousness and lust. You cleared your throat before falling silent. Irrupting the silence and awkwardness, his hands/arms found themselves across your waist as he pulled you closer to him in embrace. ‘ ‘ A-Alhaitham, are you alright? ‘ ‘ You managed to stutter in surprise as he was never this affectionate. ‘ ‘ This is more than love.. i’m obsessed.. ‘ ‘ The man mumbled into the cranny of your neck. Your expression turned confused yet unsure. Without warning, the picked your body up by the thighs, lifting you up to see your face better. Your legs wrapped around his waist out of instinct, your face slightly flush. ‘ ‘ Alhaitham, is there something you want to say? ‘ ‘ He begun his way to your room, once inside closing the door and locking it. He gently layed you on your own bed, his large figure now hovering over yours. ‘ ‘ I’m obsessed with you, the idea of you, your personality, everything. ‘ ‘ He leaned down and whispered into your ear, his hot breath making you shiver and whimper quietly. ‘ ‘ I a-appreciate it Alhaitham..- ‘ ‘ You were cut off before you could finish by a hand under your shirt. Every time you moved even an inch, you felt him tighten his grip and could swear his gaze flickered to you for just a second. “Tch. Whatever. You cringed as the door slammed shut at his exit, ‘Such a drama queen.’ “You should keep your distance or his bad luck is going to rub off on you.” Alhaitham advised, sparing you a last glance before moving back to where he was previously reading. Even in his absence, it took you at least fifteen minutes to shake off the feeling of his grip from where he held on to you... weird. ***** “The desert is a dangerous place, (Y/N). Are you sure you don’t want me to join you?” Cyno asked, watching you adjust the strap of your bag. “Mm-hm. I’m sure. I’ll be fine.” You nodded decisively, “I won’t be long, just have to gather a few samples.” Cyno observed your determined face with slight apprehension. It wasn’t that he doubted your abilities, he just didn’t trust the unforgiving nature of the sand filled region you planned to visit. “Don’t look at me like that. It’s fine. I’ve been there plenty of times.” You reassured, ruffling his hair much to his displeasure, ‘plus I want to be alone for a while... it’s like there’s someone watching me 24/7 at the Academia.’ ***** Finding a shelter from the scorching sun, you sighed. “Ugh, finally. Archons, I forgot how much I hate sand. It’s so coarse and irritating,” taking off your boots, you poured out what felt like pounds of tiny needles stabbing your feet. In reality, it wasn’t even a palm’s worth of sand, “and it gets everywhere.” You shrugged off your bag, careful not to break the jars and vials stashed inside. Looking around the surprisingly expansive area the cave had to offer, you spotted an odd smudge on the wall. Inspecting it further, you came to realise it was one of many hieroglyphs you’d find during your short stay. “What do these even mean?” You grumbled, trying your best do discern the picture like writing. Unfortunately for you, you were never one for deciphering old languages and whatnot. The symbols themselves didn’t look interesting, but you were sure that if you left without getting at least something out of them, you’d drive yourself crazy thinking it was some kind of important mystery. After a few minutes of lifelessly staring at the scribbles, you started to get a headache, “that’s it. I quit.” You groaned plunging your hand deep into your bag to fish out the handy device you were looking for. Finally, your fingertips brushed something that resembled it by shape. Emerging victorious, you quietly cheered as your eyes landed on your bedazzled Kamera, sparkly stickers a courtesy of hanging out with Kaveh. You wandered the cave, taking pictures of every symbol you could find until your eyes burned from using the flash so often. When you were certain you got all of them, you put the device back in its reserved pocket with an accomplished smile. “I’ll show these to Alhaitham later. Maybe he’ll actually translate something for me this time.” You pouted, remembering all the times he’s duped you into doing something for him with the promise of sharing knowledge, only to back out with a snark remark the second you asked for your reward, “...the little shit.” Deciding you’ve regained enough energy for your trip back, you geared up, making sure all your pockets were closed and nothing fell out on the road. It was starting to get dark, you might have stayed in the cave longer than you planned. Checking the distance to Caravan Ribat, you were positive you’d get there before midnight. “Maybe I should stop in Aaru Village first,” you thought out loud, stepping over some rocks, making sure not to touch the cacti growing between them. A suspicious bump in the sand made you stop in your tracks, your eyes scanned the terrain, unsure if you could afford a detour. Seeing it was the only way forward, you took a deep breath, slowly taking out your weapon. Creeping by it, you felt the vibrations of something moving bellow the sand. “Oh shit.” you swore, seeing not one, not two, but four Primal Constructs emerge from all around you. Gripping your weapon tight, you prayed to any Archon that would hear before dodging the first flurry of attacks. Your vision flared with light, telling you it was ready to support you through this battle. The first construct hit the ground with a thud as its sharp edges drove it deeper into the sand. The elemental energy surging from your strikes engulfed the second as you slipped through a narrow gap between the last two, still working machines. You weren’t a warrior by any means, but the little battle experience you got from sparring with Tighnari and Cyno did come in handy at times like these. Still, the sand under your feet made it much harder to manoeuvre, a disadvantage the floating constructs didn’t have. Enemy three and four were much harder to take down given your quickly decreasing stamina. A few good blows and construct three crashed to the ground, still sparking from the rough handling. Any onlooker could think you’d be capable of destroying the last one as well, you did have such a great track record with the three already downed after all. But in all honesty, you could barely stand on your own any more, your breathing not bringing in enough oxygen for you to recover quick enough. One of its lasers singed your thigh, making your knees buckle and fail your dodging attempt. You blinked away the tears threatening to escape and hinder your vision. Scrambling to your feet again, you were knocked back by the metal of its floating parts. Just when you were about to embrace your inevitable demise, you felt a light gust of wind pass you along with a flurry of green. With the last of your conciousness, you recognized the familiar cloak of your saviour, “Haith...” *(Continuation in comments)*

Looking around, you tried to analyse your surroundings. ‘Sandstone walls, warm blankets, flickering torches, Alhaitham reading a book... Wait a second, Alhaitham??’ You scrambled to sit up, your attempt foiled as the man pushed you back down with one hand. “You’re hurt. Don’t aggravate the wound more than it already is.” He instructed bluntly snapping his book shut, promptly putting it away. You stared dumbly at him for a moment. “How did you... Why are you... What the Abyss...” “Doesn’t matter. Someone has to keep an eye on you if you won’t do it yourself.” He waved your poorly formed questions off. “Where-” “Aaru Village. I brought you here after you passed out. And I swear to the Dendro Archon, (Y/N) if you ask ‘Wasn’t I heavy?’ I’m going to slap you with the nearest encyclopaedia.” He deadpanned, almost daring you to say it. “I...” you paused with a pout, “I wasn’t gonna ask that...” Just admit it. You were, weren’t you? “Don’t take this as me being ungrateful but... How... Why are you here?” You asked sheepishly, carefully adjusting yourself to face him. He stared at you for a minute, pondering how to reply. As simple as the question was, it pinned him for his crimes. What should he say? That he’s been stalking you for months now? That wasn’t exactly the optimal choice nor was it to his liking. “Cyno shared his concerns with me.” It wasn’t entirely a lie, Cyno was distraught when he tried to talk you out of going. “He did? But then why didn’t he...?” You paused, recounting your conversation with the Mahamatra, “ah... right.” “He had other matters to attend to and you’ve already rejected his offer if I recall correctly.” “Yeah...” You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose in frustration, “But that doesn’t explain why the resident ‘feeble scholar’ would feel up for a hike to the sunny lands of endless sand.” ‘That wasn’t my brightest moment.’ He cringed at the nickname, “Well because...” You could feel he was hesitating. Had you finally stumped him with something? You weren’t even trying to do that this time. ‘What did I say? It’s not like it should be hard to answer-’ Your thoughts were cut off at his sudden movement. Oh, what to do? He would surely be caught in a lie if he continued like this. It was the safest for all the people involved, especially those who’d get caught in the crossfire. Ducking into an empty part of the library, you weaved your way through the bookcases, trying to find a quiet space to read in before eventually moving on again, ‘another day, another cat and mouse chase. But why do I always have to be the mouse?’ “You’re becoming predictable, (Y/N).” “For the love of Lord Kusanali-!” You screamed when Alhaitham suddenly appeared in front of you, a somewhat smug expression plastered on his features, “You scared the shit out of me! He paused for a second, trying to contain a laugh. “Hide and seek it is.” “I’m starting to feel like you enjoy torturing him.” You pouted, looking away. ‘Sorry, Kaveh. I tried.’ “Whatever gave you that idea?” His question now barely a whisper as he reached to cup your cheek, making you face him. “Haitham... You’re never going to give this up, are you?” You muttered, resisting the urge to melt under his touch. “You never said no.” “I...” You trailed off, almost crumbling under the pressure, “this isn’t fair.” “That’s still not a no.” He made no move, letting you stew in your own embarrassment. “You sadistic little...” You were stuck between a rock and hard place. Too stubborn to accept but too far gone to refuse, you tiptoed the line between sanity and letting go every single day. “Just one little word.” “If I agree...” Scrunching your nose in thought, you stared at him with the fury off a thousand Paimons, “Will the feeble scholar agree to actually help me decipher things I bring to him?” A confused look crossed his face, “Is... Is that what you’re thinking about right now?” “When else would I get a better opportunity to finally get you to pay your dues?” You tried to contain your giggles. He squinted at you, conflicted, “I don’t know if I should be mad or proud.” “Both. Both is good.” You grinned, letting out a squeal when he picked you up. “Should I take that attempt at extortion as a yes then?” Wrapping your arms around his shoulders to make sure his feeble arms didn’t accidentally drop you, “maybe.” “You’re making my life a journey through the Abyss, (Y/N).” He chuckled. “I know.” (This is the longest I've written so far... A bit late but POV time, I guess… I haven’t reached Sumeru yet, so apologies if there are mistakes- You were in the akademiya, as usual, reading about the Dendro Archon. You and a few people were left at the library, and the sun was just starting to set. Looking out the window, you sighed, then decided that you were done for today. You stood up and went over to the bookshelf where you got the book, and stood on your tiptoes to put it back. Suddenly, you heard footsteps behind you approaching, and a pair of arms wrapping around your waist. Gasping, your eyes widened as you tried to think of who it could be. You thought at first that it was a kidnapper, who was going to hold you hostage, but you were proven wrong when the stranger whispered in your ear, and you easily realized the familiar voice. “Why are you still here…?” The man asked, and you breathed a sigh of relief. It was just one of your friends, Alhaitham, who was a scribe at the akademiya. “I got carried away… you nearly scared me half to death, I thought it was some kidnapper or something.” You said with a huff, and Alhaitham, who rarely even smiled, chuckled lowly. A bit too lowly than usual… “Well, I’m sorry to have startled you, but I was just curious as to why you were here when the library’s about to close.” He explained, and you couldn’t help but blush as his warm breath hit the side of your face. “I was about to go home…” you mumble, and Alhaitham just nodded, his arms getting tighter around your waist. There was a moment of silence, before you broke it with a gasp as Alhaitham suddenly kissed your shoulder, making you flush even redder and whimper. “A-Alhaitham…?” You called out his name in surprise, and he just hushed you. “Quiet for a bit… I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now… I can’t hold it back, anymore… I can’t take it… I have to, I just have to…” he mumbled, and you couldn’t understand what he meant. “What…?” You asked, and he answered with a sentence that made your heart skip several beats. “This is more than just love… I’m obsessed…” he whispered, before grabbing your chin and turning your head to the side, smashing his lips against yours.

To you, he was a complete enigma. All you knew that he was the Akademiya's scribe, way taller than you, muscular, and was rather good looking. You first met him in the House of Daena(the library), he sat next to you and you realised that he was reading one of your favourite books, seeing as you have been rather...scared recently, you decided to make conversation about it with him, and he seemed to enjoy it too. Weekly talks in the library would soon turn into daily, whenever one wasn't there, the other just felt a little more down, even though you didn't even know his name, and he seemingly didn't know yours. But that begged the question; When would you ask for his name..? •×• Alhaitham found you in the library, and the fact that you still haven't asked for his name intrigued him. He already knew that you weren't the best at being social, he really didn't mind waiting. You were getting more scared recently, Alhaitham knew this, he was the one causing it. How could he forget how the blood was as red and crimson as the light on the forbidden knowledge capsule? How the moon glowed down on your sleeping figure, making your lips seem more kissable then normal. Alhaitham already had a spare copy of your house key, very quickly. He'd occasionally steal things, but meticulously. He only took small things that were bound to be forgotten, sometimes more personal items that you had more than one of...but that was more of a private fantasy. He could certainly say that he stole your first kiss with these, indirectly. When he wasn't staring at you sleeping, stealing little trinkets and other things from your room, killing people who seemingly only just talked to you, he'd climb into bed with you. He'd put your head on his chest and smirk as you snuggled into it as if it was a pillow. If you were tossing and turning before he came in and joined you in bed, you'd almost instantly soothe in his chest and arms. While Alhaitham also desired some more...... intimate things with you, he undoubtedly found immense pleasure in simply combing his fingers through your soft and fluffy hair while you slept, head against his chest, and body against his muscles. You truly couldn't even escape from his iron like grip from his muscular arms that held you firmly in place, of course, still insuring that you could still breathe. Alhaitham had been this way for a long time, because he knew that he felt this way for a long time, barely spending any time in denial, moreso understanding his feelings and acquiring some.... knowledge on the subject. But one thing he knew was that his feelings for you were more than love...he was obsessed. But he enjoyed it. He enjoyed having you unintentionally in his grasp, unable to escape. Though, don't worry, he'll take care of you, and he'd never stop. •×• You were only an Akademiya worker who continued to study within it's walls, you enjoyed your job for the most part, but you really didn't expect someone to become this obsessed with you, much less your past senior. You studied, but so did Alhaitham. Not only did he use this as an opportunity for the two of you to meet, but he wanted to know if there were any past records of these feelings. And there was, yet they were forbidden. Alhaitham really couldn't care less though, he eventually got his hands on it, the whole thing being carefully calculated in advance. The story was one of where the obsessed lover kidnaps their crush, them never escaping and being trapped together for all of eternity. It eventually blossomed into a genuine love from both people, but Alhaitham, upon figuring this out, he couldn't help but use his hand to cover his chuckling mouth. His eyes glowed and went from teal to red, teal to red, teal to red, teal to red, before finally settling on red. He wouldn't kidnap you. He knew you liked your freedom and he could nonchalantly respect it, but he'd have you no matter what. You were his light, and he'd make sure that absolutely no one, not Kaveh, not the Traveler, not Wanderer, not Cyno, not Tighnari, not Collei, not Candace or Dehya, Dori, Layla or Faruzan, would have you, or your heart. You were his, and he'd keep you in his firm grasp, for the rest of eternity. He also knew one fact, you'd be getting a vision soon. Alhaitham smirked at that. He was glad, happy for you. It certainly made things more interesting. His eyes still glowed but went back to teal, he took the hand off his face and left his secret place. He started to play some music in his headphones, and began to walk to your place. He'd need some rest and relaxation before what he was going to do tomorrow. •×• You were still frightened and only contacted some of your friends and tried to avoid any locals before making your way to the library again, you actually were looking forward to seeing Scribe again. You went to your usual spot and met Scribe there. He seemed in a different mood then usual, weird. You chatted with Jim about books and the regular things you'd talk to him about that you both enjoyed, until he asked you to "help" him. "Would you mind coming over here, my sweet?" Scribe asked you in his usual voice. His chair was pulled farther away from the table than normal, yet you decided to not question it, thinking he wanted help with a wide in the book in front of him. "Sure, Scribe," you responded casually. You had your back facing him and looked at the book he was reading. "So what did you- ah?!" Suddenly, Alhaitham pulled you onto him lap and held you extremely firm in place. You squirmed but his hold was not only too tight, but he had his big hand over your mouth now too. "Mmm-" "Shhh," went Alhaitham in a calm voice. "We're still in the library, you know, my love?" He took his hand off your mouth and you shuffled a little on his lap, trying to get more comfortable in the situation you were placed in. This really didn't help Alhaitham. "My love...?" You questioned, confused. "Mm. Yes, I'll leave that to you to figure out, you're smart though, don't worry." Your face flushed an even deeper red. Alhaitham used his hand and gently grabbed your chin, turning your face towards him. "Adorable..." He trailed off. "I've always wanted to see your lips this close." "I-" Before you could finish, Alhaitham pulled you in and kissed you. He quickly wasted no time in making the kiss deeper and more passionate, taking advantage of your initial shock. He made sure no one else was there though. You gasped after and regained your breath. "Archons, I've wanted to do that for an eternity..." Your face was overheating and you were extremely embarrassed. But the first words that came out of your mouth were the words the both of you wondered when you'd hear, your face still being beet red. An obsessed person won’t say their love is any less for the person they’re showing excessive emotions to. As Alhaitham is the one who’s ‘saying’ the title’s thoughts, he’s bound to think that his obsession is greater than his love.
