I still don't get this whole cycle thing but I think many players will come back. I don't think they'll get those numbers again but hey, hopefully I'm wrong. The game is on path to being great. Personally, my enthusiasm isn't dictated by development cycles. We'll see how I feel when 1.1 drops. I needed changes back in early May. Right now I'm on Darktide and I'm looking at something builder/crafting for my more chill game time.

I mean the numbers don't lie. Under 2k players. But it's fine. Next week we're back! Except the 1k corruption tho ;)

Last Epoch has potential. It has good foundations. Personally, I stopped playing because I did not enjoy the campaign. I would overlook the story (I still have no idea what is happening there), but after playing through the campaign 3 times I started a 4th character, and right in the beginning I told myself: no way I will spend more hours in complete boredom again. It did not help, that there was not much to do in the end game and 1.0 messed something up with the engine and the fps drops and lags made the game unplayable in the late game. So I did not interact with the new mechanics. I will try it again, but now I look forward to revisiting Grim Dawn.

Admittedly, the skip campaign option in D4 is a HUGE plus.

@@alexxortv PoE does this well. The campaign has the right length and is challenging. I consider it a Tier 0 map :) LE campaign is long (at least feels long even with shortcuts) and too easy. I know it sounds overexaggerating, but I had been playing games since Comodore 64 and the first time I literally fell asleep was during LE (I know, skill issue).

I agree with all been said in the video and in the comments here, i also play the exact games you play. Additionally, i wanted to ask if you are planning to play Titan Quest 2 and put it in your schedule later. Are you waiting for the beta? Anyways, I m excited for cycle 2! :)

@@alexxortv it is the father of Grim Dawn (some devs of TQ created GD years later), and it is very much like LE. It is also set in ancient Greek and Egyptian mythologies. You should check a couple of videos of TQ and the announcement video of TQ2. It is one of the games i really look forward to and will most likely replace D4 with it in my game rotation, will be something like LE-PoE2-TQ2

It's a live service ARPG, the playerbase is't lost, it's waiting for a new cycle. If players don't return for the new cycle on the 9th then you can say they're lost.

It's because it looks good but the animations compared to PoE look like a slideshow so good isn't good enough

It's really more about the endgame. There just isn't much to do after you hit high corruption aside from making new characters, this cycle might help remedy that though

IMO the game is mostly fine, it's one of the best ARPGs ever made. The market is just flooded with games these days. PoE really has a stranglehold on the persistent ARPG genre too.

The game is kinda broken.I want to play my warlock build but whenever i start to spam my chaos bolts and rift the game freezes.It's not my pc cuz i can play other games with no issues with high details like cyberpunk 2077.And it only happens with this class .Hope they will fix it.Also i only play offline cuz their servers are bad.

I still like LE, but as you said, it gets stale doing the same things over and over, once you've mastered what you want to master.

it lost its playerbase same as any other live service with seasonal content... it's dry until new content arrives.

You should do one for Path of Exile Necromancer League (March 29th) to today (still same league on-going). 😂

PoE Necropolis is an ass league.

LE on release is much better then s4 of D4 after 1 year and tons of fixes. And players, who have at least half of a brain and who are not content creators, will not buy the expansion. But despite the fact that I like LE so much, I could not play more then 1,5 months(300 hours). Which is a huge amount of playtime for me, as I consider myself a casual. So, D4 is dead for me, but I can't see myself dropping LE completely in a near future. I am sure they will add more and more content in every new cycle.

I would agree that LE on release is much better than D4 on release. But right now I think D4 is pretty good in season 4, similar level as LE in my eyes. However LE will likely easily overtake D4 with the upcoming content. Still, I won't drop either of both games most likely, but its still amazing how LE is kicking so hard for that small of a company compared to Blizzard.

Yeah they waited too long to put in a patch. They wanted to wait to put in the balance changes until they put out a content patch. But it was a mistake. At the half way mark, they should have put out a balance patch. They thought they could keep more players by not nerfing any builds, but a big balance patch halfway through would have brought a lot players back.

I wonder if it matters when next season starts. I think we'll see. However, you are correct, they could've kept more people active while they were devleoping the new patch.

nah same as diablo and destiny2 when we play new season and beat it then stoppped to play until new season or dlc we come back to play. so same as LE

Is EHG still small indie, pretty sure they had 100 people on their team by the end with that cash injection from Tencent. I personally believe this game will find a niche spot in the ARPG community crowd, but never rival POE OR D4 for popularity. It was also way overhyped and overblown by some streamers. You still have time to learn POE BTW!

OK nvm, I am not trying to start sh*t with my audience, but it was not a reaction I expected. I've been asked a lot if the game is dead so I decided to clear this up.

For me I have no desire to return if I have to do that awful early game. Idol slot unlocking, passive unlocking nah I'm good. Once I don't have to grind idol slots and passives I'll come back until then I'll pass. The early game for LE is the worst by a large metric for any actively developed arpg on the market. People's defense for this is. "its not that bad" okay but why are we okay with "not that bad" we should have good.

I agree with this. HAVING to go through the campaign each time is tedious, especially because you cant REALLY speed it up because, as you said, you need to idol slots etc.

lol I play this game all the time it’s top notch game

Unfortunately a lot of people think in order for them to have fun they need the rest of the world to think something is fun too.

It's the end of the season ofc it's empty . Wait till the new season . That is why I hate streamer /KZread such kind of titels are harmful to games . "It's dead " etc most people will see the title and won't look at the whole video . Streamers and you tubers should stop using such wording in titles.

No disrespect for LE fans but i feel the game is just bad. I do think the devs behind it can make it good but right now the game is in a worse state than d4 was in season 3. They need to drop teh whole ssf vs trade and push trade more within the game so there is a good trade community like PoE has. They also need to think of ways to make monos more fun as it's pretty stupid right now. Nightmare dungeons actually play better than LE's end game system. I do like they are adding a pen boss and revamping some normal boss stuff but it's still pretty bad imo. They need to patch stuff faster and forget seasons for a bit until there is an end game. Just not enough to do in teh game past run in circles. Overtime again I do see it getting better but they really are going to have to do a lot to make it at least somewhat completive vs what else is out there.

Yeah, itll probably REALLY shine once 1.4 hits, then it seems like the core game is finished. So another year-ish :D

I just wait for the Patch. Too much other games to play.

I mean it’s over for this game and Diablo when POE2 drops. The free to play game looks 1000x better then last epoch

End game was pretty boring and combat doesn't feel great. Needs a few years to get good.
