One of the mechanics that blew my mind when I realized it was how Ballistas are functionally an /exception/ to the Last Epoch's minion mechanics. Normally, minions are not you, and therefore do not scale with your damage, don't apply procs for you, etc. etc. However, Ballista gets several nodes that allow it to scale with you, while still being a minion. This means that you can functionally use Ballista explosions to deal damage that scale with your normal damage stats, while also scaling with any minion stats (shared Fire Penetration and shared Crit Multi on idols, notably). Anything which is a downside /for you/ is not a downside for your Ballista. For example, you can bypass the `Shrouded` tag on rare enemies (reduces damage from far-away enemies) by placing the Ballista directly under the rare enemy's foot. The explosion still does your full damage even if you are outside the Shroud, because the Ballista is the one doing the damage, not you, but it has your damage. You can also maintain guaranteed critical strikes on your Ballista via (Soul) Gambler's Fallacy, as your Ballista crits don't count as "your" crits, but the Ballista inherits your 100% critical strike chance.

wait what? the ballista with gambler's fallacy works? have you tested that? seems buuuuusted keep in mind that falcon has several ways to scale off your stats as well. like, way more than ballista as far as i know. Falconry has Falconer's Journey, Rending Talons, Trained to Hunt, Go For the Eyes!, and Exposed Weakness to scale from dex, dmg, crit, and crit dmg. then each skill has some scaling, and even the passives do, and some uniques. passives like Agile Hunt and Avian Hurl to scale tons off your dex/throwing damage. or, what im doing, is scaling ailment chance off yours with Rending Talons, Sky Assassin passive, and Blood Roost unique gloves, giving your falcon a 550% bleed chance from your bleed chance. you can pump up your bleed chance to 700-800% from what i can plan my gear for, meaning my falcon would apply upwards of 44 bleeds per hit. playing that right now and just breezed into empowered monos. my gear is complete and total garbage but it is really really good damage so far. you can even get some poison in there too, and things just melt very quickly (thus far). can't wait to min/max this out. at least its different from how most people build into falcon

​@@junk3996 It works for Ballista for sure and should theoretically work for any minion that can inherit your own crit strike chance. The main problem is that if you do this, you /must not/ do any attack that can crit, since you'll obviously disable your Gambler's Fallacy if you do a hit from yourself that crits. Ballistas can just be summoned on their own without the Rogue needing to do any attack to buff them, so they work great. A lot of Falconer's abilities rely on the player working in tandem with the falcon, and I'm not sure if skills like Divebomb (which use the Falcon but are activated from the player) would disable the Fallacy.

See, I would have thought that but they would have put +40. It definitely refers to the stacks in the description. Interesting that other people see things totally differently. I guess that's why language is an art. BTW thanks for telling me how to get these two uniques!!!

You don't lose all of ur soul ember stacks in the soulfire bastion when you finish the boss or leave/die early You can blitz the tier 1 dungeon as the amount of soul embers obtained does not change based on tier so your getting the same amount per kill I the t4 dungeon that you would in t1 and when u have enough ur satisfied with you can rush the t4 boss and get spending

Remember: there used to not be a cap on stacks you could get untill someone made an absolutely broken build on this and it exploded! ;D

I didn't know that, but that definitely feels like an oversight, capping it makes sense.

coming from poe I kept forgetting that mods on gear are basically never local. So % increase phys damage on a weapon with a flat phys roll isn't that powerful like it is in poe. Same for % increase armor on a base item with little to no armor doesn't matter since it is global and not local.

i came from poe and personally i think last epoch's way is more logical, makes more sense. it was so confusing to figure out what was local or global with poe stats

You're looking in the wrong spot, you can see the ticks right in the middle of the screen. The health globe doesn't even show anything because I'm a Twisted Heart build with a ton of ward gen.

Good looking belt for my Smite build. Dont need the gloves, though. I can stack ignites so fast. Thanks for clarifying this because I definitely would've read it as +40 spell dmg.

I checked yesterday and the dps tooltip of cathonic fissure doesn’t change, can someone confirm i works? I checked on the dummies but i can’t say it’s increasing my damage as crazily as we expect

Spine of Malatros. I was brainstorming this whole ignite flame fissure build, and then found out the flamewhips do not scale with the "spirit" nodes in the fissure talent tree. It essentially has no way of scaling the flame whips.

I believe the belt is a 12% drop on T3 and 18% drop on T4. Also worth noting there are level reqs for T3 and T4. 92 and 100 iirc.

I'm using soulfire unique relic, 100% increased armour while ignited. Hope it helps.

Armor does not mitigate DoTs by default. Though you can use certain items/affixes/skills to allow it to do so.

isnt it better to self apply ignite stacks on hit via the bleed self on hit item since you could maintain those stacks way more comfortably without also locking yourself into specific abilities?

I tried to use this with Spellblade's Flame Reave using Arcane Severance. Sadly, it doesn't work but the thought of potentially geting +240 Melee Fire Damge was crazy

@@LantisRayEarth The unique belt itself has a chance to self ignite when using fire or necrotic skills. I was spamming Firebrand to proc ignites then testing Flame Reave.

I'm not actually sure to be honest. I was getting 9-10 ignites on me on a belt that gave +6 spell damage per ignite. I was using common rarity swords too so 54-60 fire damage should have made a huge difference. Even un-spec some passives to be sure. I tested with Spellblade's Burden of Knowledge passive though and a sword with only spell damage on it and they both worked so I'm guessing it's specific to the belt.

I'll have to look at if this could work somehow for self-cast manastacking meteor sorc. . . We shall see. I don't know what other sources of self-ignite there are.

i guess this is why my math teachers always said: "40 what? apples, oranges? maybe eggs?"

I was having some disconnect issues so it took a bit to get but so far I've gotten 4 out of 20ish runs, 2 of which had LP. I was doing Tier 4 for a bit but swapped to Tier 3 so I could zerg him down before the floor changed and I got disconnected.

Nice! I've gotten pretty unlucky and have done around 16 of them without a drop, mostly t3 cause I'm not strong enough to guarantee beating the t4 dungeon, I'm sure I'll get it eventually!

Yes Bleeding Heart would also work, though it only stacks 1 Bleed.

If ur a warlock, u need the maehlins hubris gloves, then just spam spirit plague to build up stacks fast. Take the cast speed increase node in spirit plague

what more game breaking is u can get 40k ward with warlock easily XDD

You can get a lot more than 40k, but that's a bug and it's currently unknown whether or not EHG is going to fix it, so I haven't been using it because currently my build is not deep enough in corruption to need 40k ward anyway. You can also get 40k permanent ward on falconer via another bug.

Luckily i got my dang Heart to drop off that stupid dragon with 1LP. Not the best but its better than not having the item. I was using the low life variant but i might swap to this

Tried to put a mod on my heart but I'm not strong enough for t4 julra :( have a pretty consistent 8k ward from being low life but still get slapped in one hit. Guess I need that belt before I even try. Never have been able to do t4 dungeons

Warlock is so broken right now, as is ward. Last Epoch has some very serious balancing issues that will kill it off rather fast. Ward is simply far to powerful, the way corruptions work if your not playing an immortal class that can abuse ward your wasting your time. Shame because I like the game but for it to last more than a month it needs far better class / spec balance.

Not that anyone owns a build or a tech per say but I really wish the real person who was the pioneer of this whole thing would get more credit "The Curse".

Nobody owns builds or tech, therefore it doesn't make sense to credit people, or ask people to be credited (and asking is just desperate/cringe). I didn't know that he used this tech, as I don't really watch LE content, but hey it's cool so grats to him I guess? Just like how just because I played Explosive Ballista and Dive Bomb Falconer I don't expect people to call that "Tenkiei's build" or credit me for playing it. It's just a build I played. If someone used a segment from my video on the build then yes I would very much expect to be credited. But the build itself? Have at it and enjoy. I've seen "owning builds" or concepts leading to a lot of toxicity in other games, there's gatekeeping where people say "only this creator can talk about this build" and then there's well meaning confusion "Oh you're playing this person's build you didn't credit them!" but sometimes, 2 people can develop a build without knowing the other did it. Especially when as a content creator you often have very little time or desire to watch content from other people for the games you make content on. It's happened several times in Path of Exile, I'm talking with friends like Palsteron and find out we're both playing a similar build, without talking to each other about it beforehand or seeing any content from the other person on it.
