Laser Engraving SCRATCH PAPER with the Ortur Laser Master 3

Ғылым және технология

In this video I take a couple hours out of my weekend to create some fan art for The Last of Us tv show. Recently started watching it with my wife and wanted something to hang up in the media room. I will be downloading, editing, and then laser engraving the image on to scratch paper using an Ortur Laser Master 3. Scratch paper is an awesome media to use for engraving because its dirt cheap and you dont feel bad about messing up and wasting it.

Seen scratch paper in the craft shops but did not think of lasering it. Just did my first Norton white tile and black business card. This looks like fun and cheaper way to learn the 2.5W laser on my 3018. 9% on the Ortur is not much power, might be able to get similar results on my setup.

I'm new to laser. I have software questions. Why did you go from Photoshop to Image R then to Lightburn and then to your laser. The machine I have uses grbl to get the image to the laser. Could you explain your process. It was too fast for me to grasp.

Can you be able to cut paper with this?

Did you try grayscale engraving (no dither) with OLM3? I found that it has nice power control let say from 2-12% of power I used for aluminium cards. I found it much harder to dial settings, but when correctly dialed result is awesome.

Yep! I use that a lot especially on the harder surfaces like the aluminum cards. Its really like magic lol.

What’s the point? Why not just print a black and white photo? You can get a clearer, sharper picture in 5 minutes.
