How to connect a servo and is there a firmware for it to work with the board MKS DLC?

Hi, What type of file do you use (grbl, inkspace, illustrator...)? And Can you control and define the tunings with the screen or you did it with the software?

i use inkscpe. the screen controller only as gcode sender to the machine.nothing more can do

If I may ask why did you go for the DLC and not the sbase? the sbase/sgen got a 32bit however this one got 8 bit; If I recall correctly.

yup correct..i use the mks dlc

congratz doing that one handed ;) LOL ps you make sure the kids are not around when you laser? / have an enclosure (I build one out of mdf)

Interesting video, I have a DLC 2.1 and a TFT24 like yours, the movements go but the laser does not activate from the display, what firmware have you loaded on the TFT24? do you have the link?

on makerbase github page have the firmware. you can get firmware for cnc, laser and 3d printer.

Hi there ! just bought the same card, i tried to upload the hex file for laser (to replace 3d printer firmware) and it is still in 3d printer mode. even if hex upload was succesful.... how did you do change the menus on the tft ?

the hex file for the main board. the tft need the tft firmware.can get it from MKS github

@@MrAppleorange90 OK thx.... I just can't make the last version of tft35 laser to work with the dlc. The 1.0.2 works (but no wifi) and in the 1.0.3 there is wifi but the dlc doesn't react at all to the tft actions :- (

i believe it can be control with pwm because it have pwm pin. control the pwm power with the touch screen i dont know.maybe need adjust firware

@Ahmad I also saw your project on Thingiverse and plan to use the same board instead of the original Eleksmaker (or similar) Mana type board you are upgrading here. Can you tell me if: 1) You need to load any firmware or configurations to the MKS ahead of time or does it come ready to go? 2) On the assumption that we are still using the same GT2 16 Tooth pulleys, do we need or even is it possible to update the steps/mm through the controller? Thanks for any info, I appreciate it.

hi..the board you need to flash with grbl firmware.it can be done easily using xloader with grbl hex file.choose arduino uno for the board because this mks dlc using same chip as uno. 2. default in firmware is 250 step per mm..need to adjust it.if using 16 tooth it is about 80 step per mm. it is easy process to change it just enter command $100=80 to chanhe X axis. and for y axis it is $101=80

@@MrAppleorange90 excellent thank you. I am looking also at this TFT controller (BIGTREETECH Direct TFT24 V1.1). Appears to identical (can be used for a printer as well). I didn't want to wait for AliExpress because delivery is not until November and I want to finish this machine and put it into service. Do you think this controller will work as well? Is there controller specific firmware I should load as well? Thanks for this video, your response AND your design on TV. Really inspiring.

@@samernajia it can be work. for the TFT need to flash firmware to the TFT itself.if using for 3d primter need to flash firmware for it. if using for cnc need to flash the firmware for cnc. just put firmware to sd card and when we power up it will auto flash the new firmware to the TFT

@@MrAppleorange90 Terrific. I have located the firmware and I even found I have a TFT 35 I can use instead of the 24. I just need to find the source of the board that won't take 2 months to deliver it now. Thanks again!

woow this is nice.. i bought a lser engraver too but sadly, it wont connect either on lasergrbl or lightburn.. it only uses its own apps. and the software is good for engraving only. can not make it to cut. if ever i use that same board you are using, do i need to install any firmware?

yup need to flash grbl firmware to the board. not so dificult. and need calibrate the machine.then it ready

@@MrAppleorange90 the one i got is a cheap machine, i think its voidmicro.. i thought i can use lightburn or lasergrbl on it coz base on their specs written on their post, u can use lightbrun or lasergrbl, but when i try it it wont connect.

@@poti2875 i think you just swap the board. using mks dlc as mine. easy to wiring. if anything can revert to old board

after you received the board, have you flashed the firmware? or you just plug and play? Thanks

need to flash board with grbl..and flash the mks tft with proper firmware.the stock came with 3d printer firmware for the tft

@@MrAppleorange90 I just received my board and tft. I also need to flash with grbl & change tft to laser, It came set for 3d printer. This is my first experience building a CNC/laser. It's probably simple, but for me is complex. Do you have a video of the process for flashing grbl & changing tft? thanks

@@CarterClysm888 hi this is link for firmware fot the tft24 for cnc.download and put the firmware in sd card and when you power it on it automatic update the frirmware github.com/makerbase-mks/MKS-TFT/tree/master/MKS_TFT_CNC the grbl can be flash like flashing it to arduino uno

mks dlc using grbl.can get from grbl site.the mks tft can get the firmware from mks github
