It's really all about the picking technique. Use the tabs in the description box for the left hand. For the picking hand it's down-up-down down-up-down. 5th string down, 6th string up-down. You have to master that pattern so you can play it efficiently and evenly while accenting the 5th string. Idk if that helps at all.

Thanks. I agree. This song has some of my favorite dethklok riffs. And it was more inviting for me since I already had the technique down from playing riffs like "Cold" by At The Gates. Which is why I was drawn toward it. For me, Dethsupport and the Gears song are a little tougher. But yea, you're right.

Yea, i never looked at any tabs. I learned the main riffs from the episode before the album or the book came out, and i got some parts wrong. But I'm not about to rerecord it for that. It's close enough that most people can't tell. And if they can, they can probably also tell that am capable of playing it correctly. Thanks for your comments.

Good question, but no, it's just good old fashioned D-U-D-D-U-D picking. The 2 consecutive down strokes are 2 separate pick strokes (with an accent on the 2nd of the 2), but they are compact so that it looks similar to economy picking. I'm no expert on economy picking, but to me it seems to become favorable at tempos where picking is really tough. At this slower tempo, economy picking is sloppy and doesn't lock in as tight as regular picking. But I'd love to see somebody show me otherwise.

Thanks. Well, I guess it's because I have these picking techniques on lockdown. For me it boils down to the fact that the Gears and Dethsupport riffs are nearly twice as fast and they just take more stamina, which makes a big difference if you're doing take after take of a 4 or 5 minute song.
