I've been living in Vegas for the past 7 years. The strip is all Glitz, Glamour and Flashy Lights, but areas directly adjacent to the strip, on the west, east, and north ends are sketchy as hell. If you're going to stay on the strip, stick to the southern end. If you are at the middle or north end, don't venture far off the strip. The south end is pretty nice, but the further north you go the more you don't really want to be down there on your own. If you're going to go to Freemont Street, go in packs. That's my PSA.

That’s a great place to go to get your knob polished

In the late 80s/early 90s the lot across from Sam's Town was empty. There was a bus stop there, though. Every evening, cars would show up. People were sleeping in cars, small tents and even under bushes. Next morning, they'd be gone. The last time I was in Vegas, a bum was setting up to sleep outside CAESAR'S PALACE. Bit of a change, there.

You're right. These other people haven't been there in the real world called,"REALITY." One day everything's fine,you have a nice car ,you got money in the bank ,you have a good job possibly and you have it all,and the next minute your mother and love ones are all dead. You can have a car accident like I did going down a cliff in Boulder City,Nevada no signs ,and no lights, and then you can't get a lawyer to help you cuz nobody wants to sue the government. You wind up in the hospital for 2 months stay because you're all severely depressed about losing it all and let's say you get section 8 housing.Their not happy with your place cuz it's not spotless and now since April of last year they've been trying to throw me out in the street as a result of my place not being spotless. I've had to hire a nonprofit lawyer and I'm still fighting like hell. My best friend Jay Silverman of Las Vegas died in December 2017th with $7 million and didn't leave me a penny. I have a sister and a niece who have embezzled my mother's $43,000 estate for about three and a half years,and haven't given me a penny.I don't have $10,000 to higher a lawyer to represent myself and of course the judge said my suits are threatening and harassing and not having any merit.

Haven't been to Vegas in about 4 years, i miss winning at the casinos and then having a girl come up to me for fun

I was in LV for the first time in September. My only reason was to see and stay with a Niece and her family who live in Henderson. The north end of the strip, the 'downtown' and government area and around it are disgusting, with too many substance abusers, homeless. The part of the strip I walked (Venitian-Bellagio) was about as ugly as a tourist trap one could find. It is dusty, dirty, many lots a construction site. Expensive, disappointing and a good reason not to go there again except to see my Niece and family. Far better were as my Niece recommended was the Red Rock Park-US Bureau of Land Management about 30 minutes west of the Strip and just over 1 hour north of LV, The Valley of Fire Nevada State Park.

Let me explain a little about the layout of Las Vegas: the strip is a tourist trap where most of the non-locals visit; the rich folks live up in the Summerlin area; and the poor and working class (mostly Mexicans) live in North Las Vegas.
