Jim, Larry, and Max ruined HBO boxing by criticizing the talent. They tried too often to overshadow the real talent... the boxers.

@@isachayden9987 I don’t agree with everything they said. Merchant and Lampley covered the golden age of boxing though. To be fair, Lampley and Merchant are talented in different ways. They made great events even better and more memorable.

Prayers and huge respect for Larry Merchant, a living legend and gentleman. The best boxing commentator of all-time in my opinion along with Howard Cosell. 🙏 ❤

Larry Merchant. National treasure!
Good stuff..I been wondering how Larry was doing. A true OG of the sport
Met Larry Merchant years ago in Reno. We talked boxing for about 30 minutes in a hallway at the MGM Grand. He was so generous with his time and knowledge. Just a great and authentic guy…

Great to see him. I was always a really big fan of his and valued his insight. God bless.
Much love from Italy to Mr. Merchant ❤️💪🏼
HBO boxing on Saturday growing up was my babysitter no joke. Staying in all those times and watching fights probably kept me out of a bunch of trouble. Good times great times
Larry will always be a legend.
Covered boxing like no other. I've learned so much about the sport I love from him. Larry was honest, an original and saw clearly and explained the nuances of the fight we were watching and we watched so so so many fights with him. He too was a fighter in his determination and spirit. Long live the great Larry Merchant. I know at this advanced age is hard, but it would be great to see him at a big fight event so people and fighters can pay their respect and the world can remember how special he is.
Much respect for Mr. Larry Merchant
its great to live to GET OLD, but it sucks to BE OLD
“Your not your until they count 10”!!! Strong words depending how you look at them!!! Your never out guys and it’s never to late !!!
Love Larry great thought to interview him
Thanks for this. I miss hearing Larry and the boys.
Long Live Larry.
Larry is such a gracious person. even we all get older, in his case, his mind still sharp as ever. great respect to Larry. I wish him health and a long happy life.
God bless him it kills me to see him like this :(
Fabulous quote at ghe end there!
Larry Merchant speaks well at 92 years of age. I claim him as the spokesman of Boxing for all his years of calling fights on HBO and on other venues. If you were off, he would call it unlike his counterpart Jim lampley who seemed to be in love with Oscar De LaHoya on every one of his fights . To the Old school we had Howard Cosell that leaving in around 1982. I think Larry captured boxing on its element and kept his feelings aside to push the sport. He came alive during Hearns Vs leonard and ran from there. He explained it to newcomers, advised as well to what is happening and to what will come from here on down the road. Larry saw the fury, the draw and the deceit , what is the sport but loved the fight in it's purest form. When he does go to heaven he will ask the Lord if Ali really had Dundee tear that glove,,,,,,,,,only for the love of the sport !!!!
Larry played for the same Football coach I did. The late great Harry Ostro. So I know he's tough. Hang in there Larry.
One of the best boxing analyst in my opinion. Sad to see him like this.
Good catch, looks like you caught the legend while strolling by Santa Monica beach
God bless you, og I'm sorry for past disputes. Santiago Amaru' Peace n blessings.
Mind still seems pretty sharp. We all going to get old, I wish in my 90’s mind like his.. THANKS LARRY FOR ALL THE MEMORIES

Larry is of my generation n most favourite commentator. Yes, He looks good for his age. Except for his weakening memory, Larry still has his sharp n accurate comments.
Wow one of the great ambassadors of the great sport of boxing respect my man good seein ya
God bless you Larry !
I have loved watching Larry Merchant for many Years during Title Fights , He Is So Spot On ALAWAYS !!!!!
i always liked to hear Larry on the Mic & Harold too
We Love You Larry Merchant. Great Boxing Mind.
I'm sad watching this: as much as I love/hated Larry Merchant, it's hard seeing a legend in his twilight slowly leaving us.... Still, so good to see him. Great video.
Well the 2000 year old man still hanging. God Bless him!
Wow! I did not know he is 92 years old. He’s blessed to have made it to that number. He’s a little slow but he seems to have all his facilities working properly. This man is a legend and I wish him well.
Larry was the greatest commentator in the history of 🥊
Hearing Larry’s voice again tells me how much boxing is missing him 🥊 🎙️
Larry is a sweet science ringside legend & still sharp & witty in his old age. 🎙🥊
LIVING LEGEND Larry Merchant, MY RESPECTS🥊💯💯
I fucking and will forever love LARRY MERCHANT!!! He always cared enough to let us know he never gave a F about being brutally honest about anything! The older he got, the realer it became! He was never mean but some of his comments were a TKO! Bless him! From a young 47 year old woman, that got into the sport because of her dad! Happy Father’s Day to all and to Larry!
Legend...simply put.
I always liked Larry 👍 keep plugging away sir.👍
In no way less than the boxers themselves, I speculate that thoughtful and eloquent people such as Larry create love for the sport.
Larry merchant was a great commentator. Bless you Larry
Wowwwww Larry Merchant within the past 15 years, after HBO boxing He wasn't my favorite commentators but, he was entertaining. Good to see he's still functional and has a solid memory of days gone bye at 92 he's doing well ❤️
Great to see Mr. Merchant...#BlessingsToHim
One part of Larry's legacy is that he never insulted the viewer's intelligence. If a fight stunk, he said so, not like so many of today's network shills.
I am happy to see him at this age still laughing. He is a legend and someone I care for. I myself have a hard time with the names these days just because I don't have the same interest in the fight game and the fighters. There is a reason why HBO boxing became extinct. It's not the same. I don't watch boxing anymore. Sometimes still watch the older fighters. I miss Larry merchant and may God bless him!
Salute to you sir 🙏
Love Larry...glad he's still kicking!
Great underrated boxing journalist. Lots of people don’t know Larry was there at the famous Ali vs Sonny Liston in Maine ! You can see him in the now famous photo, poster and other iconic images of Merchant at ringside when Ali knocks Liston out and is flexing/ bolo punching. Larry is right under Muhammad .
Lets all hope & pray we all get old & a little forgetful ! You know the alternative ⚰️
It's really sad to get old but it's destiny
There's nothing wrong with getting older it's a beautiful way of life big ups to Larry Merchant 🥊
Living legend, big up Larry
Respect for Larry Merchant, old school working with great boxers of many era's 70's 80's 90's 20's
I have total respect for Larry merchant as being one of the best boxing analyst of our time and a great human being. 🙏
I realize some never liked him but Larry was the voice of boxing for decades. God bless him.
fight the good fight Larry God Bless you!
Getting old is A blessing, not everyone is fortunate to live that long to experience
Larry did a boxing podcast interview earlier this year after he was out of the hospital. He talked about having enjoyed the Munguia vs. Ryder fight and it was great. I've been trying to find it again and cannot for the life of me. If anyone knows what pod it was on, I'd be much obliged.
Man is sad we all gonna get old. But for an old guy he sure have a great eye bud delivered a historical performance.
Hey man, Larry is out, walking around, outside, power to him!
Larry is the Realest ever💪🏾♥️💯 nobody comes close...
92? Everybody wishes to be at least 60 and be alive, life passes so fast that when you realize your youth is gone, fast fast, and Larry is being privileged, hope to have him for a long time, great analysts of boxing.
Legend!!!!
God bless Mr. Merchant and keep him in good health.
Larry looks exhausted, all that Boxing commentary expertise & Father Time is beginning to catch up with him , God ✝️ bless him he served the boxing public so well for so long
good to see him still going strong at his age
So miss Larry and the rest of the HBO team. Excellent production quality compared to the crap we have now like DAZN.
Miss them both.
Man, I hope I am out and about when I get to 92. Go Larry!
