Larry David Wasn't Late Night Material
Ойын-сауық
James welcomes "Curb Your Enthusiasm" creator and star Larry David to Stage 56 for his first visit and LD is thrown off by the reverse vibe of everything. After James gives Larry a quick catch-up on how the C-word is used in his home country, Larry recalls his experience as an "actor" when he first graduated from college. And when he began to focus on stand-up, Larry learned in pretty direct fashion he wasn't going to perform on "The Tonight Show."

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

I saw many, many Seinfeld moments in this interview. Especially George's character seems to be based on Larry's persona. I like Jerry Seinfeldt as a comedian, but the older and grumpier I get the more I prefer Larry David's sarcasm, social awkwardness and brutal honesty (and I'm only in my thirties btw, my god where will this end?!). It's also interesting that he seems to be basically playing himself in Curb your Enthusiasm. The only difference is that fictional Larry has his social competence turned all the way down to zero.
