Susie is without a doubt, the best non-Larry character on Curb. Glad this show is finally getting the recognition it deserves! I love how well she knows the show too, most of what she referenced in the shows were scenes or even complete episodes where Susie didn't make an appearance

Saw her do standup several years ago. At least half of her set was crowd work; totally improvised on the spot. and she freaking KILLED.
I would love to see more interviews with her. She's gold.
Her reaction at the end “THAT’S IT?” is literally what I’m thinking when I hear people are flying across the Atlantic for an 8 minute spot w Colbert

@@twalrus1 But those are stories she can't tell when she's only afforded 5 minutes of interview time. Howard Stern is sadly the only interview venue today where interviewees can actually tell stories. Shouldn't be so, but network TV could care less.

I was feeling the same disappointment as Susie when she said “that’s it?” Love the personality, reminds me of my family that grew up in Brooklyn :) Would love to see her as a special guest for an entire show!

Why can't we have a show like the UK's Graham Norton Show? Every interview on Colbert feels like a "speed round" of questions. And it's the same for the other late night talk shows, must cram in as many ads as the audience will tolerate.

@@hd-xc2lz Agree 100%. The time that most guests have is terribly rushed as they attempt (the networks, and those up high at said networks) to compress everything - thus it’s a format that is never cohesive, too much material etc. kills content every time :/

Ted Danson was the Anonymous Donar. I love the way that Larry and Ted are friendly enemies on Curb. The Spite Store story arc was great.
She's hands down one of the best parts of that show. Love her.

Susie is a riot on talk shows and hysterically funny on CYE. Her distrust of her husband and Larry David is actually usually warranted😂😂

Her character really grew on me over the years. She may not have changed but the understanding of the dynamic Susie brings did. From the voice of 'no fun allowed' to 'you boys are all idiots and here's why'. They really made her character a part of the group rather than a stick in the mud. And factor in the bullshit the boys pull you really start to empathize and see how she moves the narrative along with her criticisms rather than blocks it.
Don't we all love Larry, Susie, Jeff, Leon et al ? How great are they for being so consistently hilarious for 11 seasons?
Far too short. She is fantastic on this show.

@@vivinpan I don't see lip fillers on Susie but I'm no sharp-eye with that stuff. She did get some work done at the show I saw -- now it was very obvious even to me, at that point. It was kind of recent. It made her less funny bc she got too "Hollywooded."
As a dad of 5 to 10 yr olds, ive moved away from colorful language on tv but there's something therapeutic and genuine about Susie's outbursts. Like a pressure cooker whistle letting out steam, shrill yet oddly satisfying.

Fantastic interview. Loved how she got Steve to go off his cards -- he always just enjoying it, and leaned into just a conversation. Excellent

Sorry, but no six minute interview can be put in the "fantastic" category. Like Colbert as an interviewer, but wish he'd do it someplace other than Network TV after he finishes his contract. His talent is wasted here.
She was *fantastic* . "What, we're done?" That's the way we all felt at the end of her VERY short interview. (Hint hint)
I love Curb Your Enthusiasm!!! Can't wait for another season of this comedy masterpiece, good to watch over and over for years!

Suzie can act so much anger into fellowship. She's a goddamned comedy genius of a treasure.
Susie & Joy Bahar are longtime friends. Imagine the two of them in "Curb" as something like sisters or old friends that fought, parted ways years before, & never buried the hatchet. Now one of them feels like it's time to broker peace between each other so they can be friends again.

just saw the episode on CYE when she screams at Larry and Jeff (Larry is itching his balls and Jeff looks like he's gonna vomit out of nerves) to "GET ME THE HEAD" when they took the head of her daughter's doll. Like an old Western sheriff. I love it.

Given the unusual way Larry runs the show, with outlines rather than dialogue, what makes this woman SO SPECIAL is that she verbalises and acts through that outline better than any other performer. So great.

Yes yes yes she needs to be a regular guest! Her spunk is so energizing, gets your creative juices flowing!!! I've never even seen her before and I'm going to start watching Curb Your Enthusiasm because of this interview. She was fun.
I could listen to her giving it straight for an hour!
I love her character exploding all over Larry.... They're like perfect opposites
She is just great. An integral part of what made Curb such a great show.

Finally, an actual REAL person on a talk show. No bullshit with what she says, no bullshit with her appearance. Just a normal person. Curb is my all time favourite US comedy show and I'm so glad it's returned. That whole season with the fatwa on Larry was the best season ever.

I love Susie Essman, I have been a fan for decades. She has strong ties in my community, and appears here often. Imagine my surprise when comedian Amy Schumer used a joke that Susie Essman wrote when Schumer was still in high school. No attribution, no credit, just a right-in-your-face, bold as brass, STOLEN joke. Susie was surprised that Schumer just stole her joke and used it in her special, I was NOT surprised. Schumer is no Susie Essman!

Her and Larry,, pure gold.
Susie would be an amazing dinner guest.
I have a similar runaway story. I put an apple, a small snack pack of Doritos, and a little puzzle book in the closest thing I could make to an old hobo bindle and then sat in an alley around the corner from my house until i got bored (probably 20 minutes). The next time, I packed more to do, lasted about 40 minutes, but it felt like an eternity.
I'm just disappointed that she didn't call Stephen a "four-eyed f**k"
