I remember Gary Jones, the Everton winger, running the Albert after he retired from football. How things have changed!

I used to visit visit Lark Lane to buy blow in the eatly 80s. It was Rising Damp country back in day. When Keith's opened a baked potato was 3x the cost of a portion of chips in the chippy. Writing on the wall.

Farmers' Market's held on the 4th (not always the last) Saturday of the month. Located at the Aigburth Road end of the Lane. The Old Police Station holds regular Flea/Makers Markets and Craft Fairs.

My first day of work started on the 4th of August 1969 at the GPO Training school in Lark Lane. A lot of water has past under that bridge. 48 years latter I retired as a Transport Manager. A long way from a telephone engineer. Great video, bringing back memories

In the 60s I went to Toxteth Tech and used to walk to Lark Lane at lunchtime. We'd buy fish and chips and walk up Lark Lane to Sefton Park and smoke a cigarette before returning to school. It always seemed to be a nice area and had all the shops needed for a community. At that time the road was open to Aigburth Road. Details don't come to mind but the video brings back good memories. Sefton Park was such a pleasure and nice memory. Thanks for posting.

I used to live not far from Lark Lane, and always wanted to get a flat round there in the 70's. alas I never did. I love your videos because I left Liverpool in 1981 and hardly remember anything about the place.

Thanks Jeff. Wonderful to take this stroll after so many years. Keith’s had just opened up when I left, but not the bars and restaurants, and you would have been arrested for sitting in the road!

Another great vid. ‘Bohemian’ in respect of Lark Lane, translates as ‘dumps selling overpriced tat, food and drink’. Incidentally, on Hesketh Street is a recording studio that back in the 1980’s was a well visited motor car museum which included the first Ferraris imported to the UK amongst its collection.

That's interesting about the cars. I think that's why I looked up the meaning of bohemian.

Jeff, I was in charge of the Warner Bros Television Network here in the USA. We WOULD NEVER have 1k tone at the leader count in...4,3 then silent and black 2 and 1 and first video at 20:00:00:00 in New York and the East Coast WB Television live feed! Pretty clever your intro but you never want tone or leader count in. 10-3 then black and no audio for 2 , 1. Zero doesn't exist.

Lark Lane fire Station. 57-63 Lark Lane is mentioned in the Cardiff Times 11th January 1902 with regard to the train disaster at Dingle Station. The fire station officer was inspector Cowan. You pass the old fire station at 12:18. On the left
