Largest Bull Meets His Match during the Elk Rut

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Elk Bull Fights are numerous during the Rut in Canada's Rockies, but this one was especially striking. Here is a close look at the Largest Elk Bull in this area.. first, a couple clips over the last month, before today's marathon fight with this younger rival. The younger rival has not been stressed near as much during the height of the rutting season, and clearly had the stamina to outlast one of this areas most dominant bulls today. The Bull that conceded defeat today has been the most dominant elk bull in this area now for years. This well known King has had to battle and run off rival bulls on almost a daily basis over the last month and a half, of which shows athleticism and genetics that are extremely rare. We suspect he decided it was more important to preserve his energy as very few cows remain in estrus. He did sustain some injuries here, but will likely be back to fight another day. More on Elk..

This just proves what I said to my bud. Rack-size doesn't matter. It's strength and stamina. Could have a 5pt bull with a moderate rack be top dog in a herd because he can out-fight the older ones with the bigger antlers. The old bull in this video's downfall is his rack was too wide, he already got a pretty good injury on his neck by the look of it and the younger bull just kept getting his tines in there to keep jabbing at him until the old fella gave up. Even had one of his tines snapped off!

Now that the states have been passing legislation to promote aggressive hunting and trapping to keep the wolves in check, your city buddies are trying to put pressure on DC to grant wolves federal protections yet again. It’s absurd. Do everyone a favor and stay in your safe space. Tell your friends to stop ruining our way of life. Manage your own wildlife populations…

You don't go on vacation? I'm not trying to flex like I can afford to go anywhere. I can't really so most of our vacations are within the state, but my wife and I save up and every 3 years we take a really nice vacation. It's worth it to see, and experience the things that you want to. You only live once after all.

Succession of the harem, when younger bulls, take on the mature bulls, for right to breed the Cows. A tradition as old as time. Nice video, and camera work, but sound would of been a extra nice touch. Thanks.WR, 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🦌🦌🦌🦌
