    The preserved Lion cub, panthera spelea found in Siberian permafrost was dated to 28,000 years ago, or BC 26000. Only became extinct some 13,000 years ago! Lions existed in North America until about 11,000 years ago!

    Actually, the cave lion is a separate species, and the scientific name of the cave lion is actually now Uncia spelaea, meaning the cave lion is not a true lion, Panthera leo is the only true lion, just because a species has a similar name to another species doesn't mean they are closely related, especially with marsupial moles (order Notoryctemorphia) and true moles (family Talpidae), marsupial moles are marsupials, while true moles are placental mammals, also, golden moles are also placental mammals, but golden moles (family Chrysochloridae) are not closely related to true moles, golden moles are more closely related to tenrecs and otter shrews and are grouped with them under the order Afrosoricida, which actually belongs to the superorder Afrotheria, making tenrecs, otter shrews, and golden moles more closely related to aardvarks, hyraxes, elephants, and sirenians, while true moles are more closely related to solenodons, desmans, and shrews and are grouped with them under the order Soricomorpha, which belongs to the superorder Laurasiatheria, making shrews, moles, desmans, and solenodons more closely related to ungulates, whales, carnivorans, pangolins, and bats.

    Just because Snow Leopards can't roar doesn't mean they don't belong in that genus lmao, it's a specialisation/adaptation they evolved, but certain lineages can drop some of those adaptations if they aren't required. If there's genetic difference that points at them not being close enough to the other big cats then yeah, but that's not the case though is it?

Largest jaguar ever recorded weight 350 lb (158 kg) Largest lion ever recorded weight 800 lb (363 kg) and extinct Barbary lion weight 400-530 lb (181-243 kg). Barbary lion is one of a large lion and not largest lion. Bengal tiger is largest tiger in the wild and Siberian tiger is largest tiger in the captive.

    01:24 question: in sri lanka they never lived tigers and lions, so i can get the point with the size, but the persian leopard had centuries ago pressure because of the caspian tiger and asian lion, which both lived in that area and are now extinct in that region. So actually the persian leopard had to be smaller than the sri lanka leopard..

  • @AegleCreations

    @AegleCreations

    Good point… but I don’t think the lack of other predators alone effects the size of leopards. It could be a combination of other factors - prey size, etc.

  • @shafqatishan437

    @shafqatishan437

    Жыл бұрын

    Lankan leopards are actually smaller than north Indian, persian and African leopards etc due to lack of large prey availability in the island. Largest leopard from SL is only 77kg, while African leopards regularly reach 80 kg.

  • @AegleCreations

    @AegleCreations

    Жыл бұрын

    @@shafqatishan437 However, that statistic of 77 kilos is now outdated. Larger leopards have been recorded since; the leopards of the central highlands are much bulkier in size, and are definitely larger than 77 kilos.

    @@AegleCreations thats true , mountains leopards are relatively much bigger than the other leopards in sri lankan island. and also they prey on biggest animals such as sambar deer, domestic cattles. so definitely i guess north indian leopards and sri lankan highland leopards are same in size. some peoples saying north indian leopards are bigger than sri lankan leopards, that because , they have long fur.

  • @AegleCreations

    @AegleCreations

    Жыл бұрын

    @@janicafe8760 Yes, it's generally believed that Indian Leopards are larger than Sri Lankan Leopards -- if not, they fall within the same weight range. However, it has always confused me as to why Sri Lankan Leopards were thought to be larger, just because they have no competing predators on the island? African Leopards have to compete with lions, hyenas, etc. yet they have achieved much larger sizes...

    Please make a video on the size comparison between the Siberian tiger and Bengal tiger according to the present time date we have. It's believed that Siberian tigers grow upto 600lbs on average in the wild but the authentic Scientific data tells us a different story. Even In the historical records, Siberian Tigers weighed on Average upto 475lbs. Which is still less than their alleged weight. There have been modern scientific surveys as well showing that the Siberian tigers have even lesser body weight on average than the historical records. Please make a video on this so the misleading information which has been spread through certain articles nd witnesses on the internet who clain Siberians can grow upto 600lbs on average can be verified.

    Your video states the same thing as everything else does, that tigers are the largest cat in the world. But there are still a few people out there that insist you and everybody else is wrong. Lions are the biggest cat. This is both hilarious and a bit worrying to me. Hilarious because there are some who feel they are right and the rest of the world is wrong. It worries me a bit for the same reason. To think you are right and everybody else is wrong, is not only arrogant, it is stupid as well. I mean the ego one must have to think this way. But lion fanboys are well known for their delusions and huge denial problem. No matter how many facts you put right in front of them, they will still deny it. How they can see things that everybody else can't, is crazy. There is probably a few in this comment section. Not going to check because I know the truth and don't care to take the time to teach them the facts. I am always compelled to correct them but it is a waste of time. Like talking to a brick wall only the brick wall is more intelligent. Not exaggerating about that at all.
