This is why Dimash idolizes her. Josh Groban has also recorded this song and it is also incredible. There is a video of them doing it together on CBC. But I agree as others below -- you have to do Je Suis Malade (with the English subtitles). That is a masterclass on story telling and that is what she is -- one of the greatest story tellers in song. She pours her heart into every single song. Lara Fabian is another rabbit hole Just like Pentatonix. She really is spectacular.

Lara is an amazing performer. She’s actually from Belgium but moved to Canada a long time ago. Her native language is French but she also speaks Italian and English (obviously). There are so many songs that are worth listening to, here’s a few: je suis malade ( most emotional performance), Caruso, adagio, Je t’aime etc.

After researching and watching most of her live performances, ( my favorite “ from Laura with love”, and Nue,both about the same year) practically the whole day, I became a lifelong fan!! I listen to her each day. Hum her melodies, and search for more news of her each day!! And, like you have asked why are we hearing of her now in 2021, while she’s been around since at least the year 2000???? Worldwide!!!!! , except the USA????????😮😱😮😱😮😱😮😱😮😱why??? She sang a bit in the US with David Foster and friends. But well, there was already someone pretty successful from Montréal in Vegas, so Sony tried to make her a pop artist instead. Bad choice.

@@veralang5261 Yah, it is hard to believe that 2 bilingual Diva could not share parts of the US market, but someone worked against it (it's in a documentary from 2020). You know the first competition between the 2 was in Eurovision in 1988, Lara representing Luxemburg (bourg?) and Celine representing Switzerland.

Just because she has the Canadian nationality doesn’t mean she’s Canadian. Her roots are Belgian and Italian, and she’s a born and raised Belgian. You can totally be proud, but just because someone genius has immigrated to your country doesn’t mean they’re yours to take.
