It’s all about the heartbreak and she held that last note for 17 seconds. Other recommendations for Lara from that same concert “From Lara with love” would be Adagio, Caruso, Broken vow, Perdere l’amore, and You’re not from here.

Hi, this song "Je suis malade" (I'm sick) has been written by Serge Lama (a French singer-songwriter) in 1973. And he performed without a mic !!! This song is his most important and success in his career. This is the story about the song : Serge Lama felt in love with a woman in 1969, but both were married. They kept their love story secret during years. In 1973 he wanted to marry her, but she didn't want to divorce. She left the country to avoid him. Serge Lama was devasted by the pain...he wrote the lyrics in 20 minutes...and married her in 1991. But in this song, he referred also to his mom and the pain she inflicted to him and to his father. His father was an opera singer and travelled around the country, and he renonced to his carrier because she asked him...Lara Fabian is a belgium-canadian singer very famous in France

You just discovered a Canadian national treasure. She's an international living legend (sings in 8 languages), but she's not well known at all in the US, and apparently, in parts of Canada. Her long decades long career has aspired many young singers, none greater than Dimash who is currently considered the best vocalist of his generation. I believe once he's done he will have become the standard by which all singers are compared to, but not yet. To me she's still the best performer of a song, the one who tells the best story and who can inspire whatever emotion she wants from the listener. And she does it with subtlety, while still the owner of an amazing, powerful, beautiful voice.

@Newfie Reactions It’s crazy that you never heard of her before because you’re a canadian and Lara Fabian is one of your best canadian music exports to the world, especially Europe. She started over in French part of Canada in the 90s very successful and became a huge star especially in French speaking part of Europe but was also well known in other European countries as well as in middle and south america and parts of asia. 1999 she tried a career in the US and her first album was a huge success but unfortunately she did not have the big break-through there. Still musically very active and creative today, she has now returned to Canada and is a celebrity overall in French-speaking countries, but more an insider tip in other parts of the world due to her incredibly good voice, her incomparable expressiveness, especially during live performances and her musical skills Versatility and creativity. As a European, I have the impression that Canada as a whole has a very creative and liberal cultural scene, as many talents were born and promoted there.

Try reacting to Je t'aime paris live 2001 , still by Lara. she has the same level of technique and the same power while she sings it, it's very very impressive . H ow the crowd was saying “we love you“ and she was replying with “I love you“. She was going through a really tough time and the audience knew about it and they planned this way of telling her that she was loved by them. It’s even more touching when you get that.

Another singer giving you shills: she is very young , but with everything to be a superstar: Lucy Thomas. Her cover of Leonard Cohen " Hallelujah" got more than 8 millions views in few months. All her covers are done with "soul", and it is why she is a star shooting up.

I found it pretty funny that you were confused with several theories about this song. It is about a bad relationship with an absent partner; and even when he is there; he still is emotionally absent. This song was originally written and composed by Serge Lama. But Lara Fabian has made her own version of this beautiful song. Lara has gone through a lot of heartbreak in past relationships. I think that is why she is able to channel her feeling in this song. She is an epic storyteller & performing artist that can transform these lyrics and emotions in a very special way. Her live performances are the best! The emotions come from deep within her and she gives it her all. You can tell because after she ended this she needed a minute to come back to earth. Even Serge Lama said in an interview that he considers Lara's interpretation of his song the best and that he was more than happy to gift this song to her. On a nice side note; Lara Fabian & Serge Lama performed his song together a couple of times back in the day! See the link down below to this youtube clip. kzread.info/dash/bejne/a6SaupVqgKyyeto.html Unfortunately, I can not find a better quality version on youtube.

The lyrics is about not having the beloved one at her side. He's careless. He is always out, he's took all her dreams and joy of living, like he has sucked her soul and then left her alone. I recommed you "Perdere l'amore", "Caruso", "I guess I loved you", "Adagio (there's an english and an italian versions)". Thank you for the reaction!

"Je suis malade" (I am sick) is a 1973 song by Alice Dona and Serge Lama, The song is about how her love went to heaven by himself (I can't use the right word on KZread), which is why she is so angry and hurt. She (the performer) misses him, and can't live without him.

Je suis malade” song is about romantic love that creates illness and deprivation. It’s the kind that’s not healthy for you. It tells a true story. When Serge Lama wrote it, he was madly in love with a married woman who will be his wife later, until his death. He’s also taking his anger out because of his mother, who make him feel dirty and ugly without her, feels abandoned like a child in an orphanage. This song had been interpreted by many artists over the years.

The song I'm Sick is inspired by a real heartache of Serge Lama, the story of a long secret relationship. In 1969, the singer met Michèle Potier in Chamonix. Love is a certainty, but they are not free either: in 1968 Daisy Brun married her press secretary, she is married and the mother of a little boy. They love each other in secret for several years and promise to regain their freedoms, but Michèle hesitates and eventually flees and settles in Morocco for professional reasons. Lama is desperate, he wants to put words on his pain without succeeding, until the day he confides to his friend Alice Dona: "This story hurts me, it makes me sick". Back home, at the piano, Alice Dona composes in a few hours a melody [...], which very quickly she makes listen to the singer. It is a revelation and Serge Lama writes almost the entire text with a jet.3 He would later say, "The 80% of the song I wrote in 20 minutes is almost a shame. [...] it came out of my heart so much that I immediately felt that this song had something that others didn't have. ». The great Serge Lama...

Oki... This song is a cover from Serge Lama, in the 70's... She has a so much interpretation than we can think she lived it... I'm not so sure, even If life is hard... This is all about narcissistic perverses that can kill people only with bad way of life and bad habits with their victims.... Her interpretation is wonderful because she's a great singer and feels what she sings... I know narcissics pervers because I''m a victim of that... I lost everything, even my children.... This song is very serious, not only a performance... Thanks Lara because you help people like me, and we' re so many, thanks to Serge too for this wonderful and so true song... Respect for that 🙏

Long, controversial story why you never heard of her. Part of the explanation has to do with Rene Agnelli, Celine Dion's manager and his desire to kick Lara out of the North American scene. There were other factors too, but now she is well-known throughout the non US world and is back, as the Queen, in Quebec.

Not totally true. It has to do more with Sony and Tommy Mottola, Mariah Carey's husband and Sony's president at that time. Sony didn't want another Mariah, another Céline. For whom understand french, I suggest to watch Lara's new documentary in which she explain this situation.

Supposedly your partner has told you you have no clue about emotions? Relive this and you will find out why. Not a fan of emotions, but still. The lesson: do not try to make a rational story until you understand the variables. That is, only by unlocking your brain, could you enjoy this performance. One needs to be free to enjoy a performance.

No, no the original was written and sung by Serge Lama in 1974. It was indeed cover by Dalida a few years later. This song inspired by Serge Lama's real life tells of a difficult and painful romantic relationship. In the 1990s, Serge Lama invited Lara to come and sing it with him on stage and it is since that time that Lara has interpreted it so often and so wonderfully.
