Great to see you reviewing a classic that is still considered one of the best affordable scents in the market. Not many reviewers cover such fragrances and it can be difficult for people like me who don’t get to try these unless we blind buy

Not true bro. I wore this 30 over years ago and have been continuously wearing until few years ago, I change to other house. Tad also has flankers which is black extreme and gold extreme. Based on this few bottles, the original pour homme still the best in my opinion.It's a compliments getter,for sure

Hey steven, just wanted your opinion on 2 fragrances i received from Amazon. So i have Givenchy gentleman only (purple liquid) And hugo boss "iced" I must say i have fallen in love with the Givenchy fragrance i was not expecting such a addictive smell. What are your take on these fragrances? Love all your hard work my friend thanks.

This has been my favourite fragrance since the 1980's. The current formulation is still a strong long lasting fragrance but it does not pack the same punch as the original. I remember going out and dancing all night in clubs and then still smelling Lapidus on my clothing strongly the next day. I find I still get complements on it. I was recently a little taken aback when a young student told me it was an old man fragrance ... I guess it is now :) Its still in my top 5.

"Oh yes... it's gonna get stankay.": Paul Rudd, "Anchorman" promo. Adore this frag. Smells like a (fictional) German brothel...in the summer. The honey/musk note gives it a "bedroom stank" that I totally dig. Good review.

Great vid I picked this up fri and it reminded me of Playboy Night in the black bottle (which I was looking for YEARS!) thus I bought 3 bottles :)

I am deeply fascinated by creations from the 70's and 80's, something probably rooted in childhood, when those,strongly aromatic barbershoppy fougeres, and animalic cyphres i smelled on my father and other grown ups were my first contact with the world of perfumery. Your meticolous breakdowns are even more helplful for us when we want to approach fragrances from the 70's and 80's, because they are often so powerful and different from what we are accustomed today, that we risk to not understand them, or remain disappointed. It'important to have an idea of what you are getting into expecially if you don'thave the chance to test it.

My dads friend used to wear this back in the day he told me the name of it finally and I am going to be trying out some soon so Im really hoping this is it because it smelled amazing back then

Lapidus was my signature fragrance in early 90’s, I’ll look for a new bottle just for the memories

I've been thinking of this one since it was reviewed by Chris.

I may like fragrances with animalic notes, I owned and liked this one and I like Kouros. I'd like to try some others, any suggestions?

Steve - You know I've been a fan of your reviews for a long time and I'm also on the batch code bandwagon in that I feel it's nearly the most important part of the review due to reformulations of nearly everything. *In the last two years I've discovered that even more important is the formula code that's on all the boxes under or on the last line of the ingredients.* If all reviewers, including yourself would have been providing that for the last decade, someone like myself could have created a database with all known formula codes for every fragrance. This would provided a quick lookup table of dates and amounts of formulations. Sites like Raiders of the Lost Scent catalog formula codes for some Dior titles like Dior Homme Intense but not everything. Too often, video presentations state "there's some writing on the box and that's it for the presentation"! The box contains the current name of the bottler, batch code and formula code. For a hot fragrance, 5 years down the line that becomes the most salient part of a review!

Sauvage Elixir is probably my favorite fragrance at the moment and #1 or #2 releases from 2022 the other would be Invictus Victory. I smelled this when I was 5 years old because my Brother used to wear it! I was born in 1982 I can’t remember how it smells but if I still remember the name and the Bottle it should have been a nice and pleasant one! I actually order a bottle from Amazon to Try it out!

I am little bit confused. I definitely feel smokey aspect in it. I smell powerfull tobacco note and I feel its very ...very offensive. I think it's not fragrance for young guys. Its like formal choice for 50+ bosses . Just saying.. Maybe I have to try more wearing so I can experience Lapidus more. My choice for this fragrance style would be something like YSL - Rive Gouche or Houbigant - Duc de Vervins.

It was an expensive fragance in Nordstrom but never bought it over US$125 the 100 ml. It is truly elegant and distinctive, I'm so mad at myself that didn't bought it in the right time. At this moment I do keep my last 20 ml more & less

Literally my first perfume when I was a teenager.

I bought 2 vintage bottles of Lapidus pour homme, very unique smell and great performance.

I own Black Extreme and Gold Extreme. I haven't tried this or Sport yet.

I owe this fragrance, it opened nose to the so called old school parfumerie. There is a Brazilian niche house which produced a fragrance with similar honey, herbal and animalic tunes but in a much modern way. It is called Instinto by Charme Essência.

Steven 👉this fragrance TED LAPIDUS and 👉ONE MAN SHOW from 1980 are the Biggest BOMBS ever created.... Lovely scents and even with all the reformulations that they have been through they still project like Beasts... Awesome fragrances that to me are 👉THE KING OF KINGS🏆🏆. Great Review steven 👍

I had Lapidus with the cool table lighter look.

I made the mistake of using 8 sprays on first use... I was used to using Calvin Klein's euphoria which requires 27 sprays for others to smell it on you. My Girlfriend was choking and coughing and asked me if I took a bath in it.

I use Lord daily, it’s Saudi Arabian brand and extremely cheap. I haven’t tried Ted lapidus. However, many say that Lord has the opening of kouros and the base of Ted Lapidus.

unbeatable performance for money,i'm not a fan of the scent,i do enjoy Kouros and i found Lapidus to be even more animalic, if you're into retro and classics power houses this is a must try,a time travel to the 70' and 80's.
