I was on an escalator in 1995 and a guy in front of me was wearing it - I asked him what he was using and since then I'm addicted. Nothing last as long as Lapidus and it does make a statement when you enter the room!
Your reviews are so good. Also, the length of your videos are perfect. I bought this a year ago based on the hype. I loved the bottle and box. The first spray, I thought, whoaaaahhh. What in the hell…? Then I got a headache. Two weeks later I tried it again. Just one spray. It was better. Yesterday, I tried it again. A weird thing happened - I love it. Yeah, it’s strong. It is probably off putting to people just getting into the hobby, but I am now a fan. The dry down is the best. Lasts 12 hours for me. Could still smell it this morning a bit. I recommend it. If you don’t like it at first, come back to in a month later and then see. I agree with most of your reviews. I love Zino though. And I think we have the same all time favorite- Kouros. Thanks for these great videos!!

Great review! As with most of the classics in my collection, the magic happens in the deep dry down...Pierre Cardin and Grey Flannel come to mind. Love your channel!
The king of complexity! It starts with the pine and green scents and it is develop in a honey powdery scent! It has became my favourite fragrance among my collection! I have the kouros, i have the lagerfeld classic and some modern perfumes like sauvage etc, but lapidus it was love with the first smell 😛😁 i bought 3 bottles back up of it, hope to be my signature scent of my life! 😎😁

Hello Kellen very good review. Lapidus pour homme is a fragance that I have know since my adolescence and I learned to love it over time, the truth is that it is a very difficult fragance. I admit that you are very brave to wear this fragance to go to the gym. Whithout further ado, I say goodbye, greetings from Buenos Aires - Argentina.
Thank's for a great review! I love Lapidus pH! It's a really a manly time machine that beams you back to the 80's. It saddens me, that not many young guys get the chance of trying this one and similar classics like Quorum just because they're not sold stationary anymore. The only way to get those gems is the internet. Most of the young ones just want to buy their sugary "scents" in a mall and are cut off experiencing what a real scent can do to a man (and a woman). Thank's for your terrific work respecting the classics! Greetings from Austria!
Excellent review on this! My bottle is the same age as your's, 2016, and I haven't worn for a couple of years. I originally bought it out of curiosity. Wore it again last week and it made me smile in a good way. The honey jumps out most for me. One spray on my work shirt was enough. It'd be interesting to hear you review Pashana Original Aftershave.

I remember Lapidus and Quorum being worn by my dad when I was in High School in the late 80's. I remember barrowing it and it was a beast and still is. I am on the fence with it. I bought one a few years ago and don't really wear it. However, I totally agree with your review. It's unique not very mass appealing the dry down (way down) the sandalwood is pretty good. It makes a good bathroom air freshener :)

I thought I was the only one who enjoys using this one as a bathroom freshener. It and Kouros both. Drakkar Noir in the living room. They were my dad's but since he moved on to more modern masculines like Aventus and Terre D'Hermes to please my mom I had to find a good use for his old 80s powerhouse fragrances.
Very very good review. I’ve been on the edge of getting this for ages ,and probably will at some point. I own Kouros , which I admire - but have hardly touched the juice inside . I like sweet , and it is hard to go from there to those eighties monsters - back in the day I used to wear Joop ph, and quorum , then there was a long gap to where I got into fragrance - about 2 yrs ago . Some highlights from my collection - Armani ph vintage, Chanel 19 edt, Armani code absolu, A-men ( reformulated one unfortunately- still pretty good tho), million, UltraRed, missoni, mostly mid price designer, few mid east ones . I’ve seen a few collections that look like a who’s who of the latest designer hyped frags - well , I just bought missoni wave for .. fifty two quid ! Well - I’ve got it’s brother on the shelf - and I’m a sucker for a nice presentation. Cheers Kellan 👍
This is my absolute favorite cologne.
Agree with your review and it is great and a bit of a kindness to let people (especially those new to getting fragrances) know the polarizing nature of this scent. I think Yatagon could possibly fall into this category also. I would include Xerus ( just hits me the wrong way and I've tried it over and over). There is one fragrance that I love now, that I actually threw the bottle (which you would love: matte black with gold spray top and cap) away after I tried it, tried it again a few days later (same thing), but left it in my collection for years before trying again: "Gianfranco Ferre For Man" which I really like now. The problem was the opening, which smelled inky with burnt orange. But something "shifted" in my perception and as it "opened up" during the dry down it smells very masculine/ italian/powdery, beautiful old school fine cologne. What I think was happening was I was smelling all the notes "compressed" (if you will) in the opening, before it opened up on the skin. Because of this, I tend to reserve judgement on some challenging fragrances.

Hi kellan I been useing this scent since it first came out,the re- forms are not bad. I like it because it doesnt smell like any thing else. Mostly in the spring outdoors. Its kinda in the same vain as Boss #1 with that honey vibe. I dont wear it a lot but when I do I get noticed. Another good fragerance from the 80s is Smalto if you can find it give it a try. I own "Lapidus Pour Homme" and I like it at least somewhat (I guess it's a more recent formulation of it). I call it a "museum" fragrance because it reminds me of how things were like in the late 1980s. In fact, most people wouldn't wear it beyond the year 1992. I think that one of the best things about this fragrance is its sillage and its performance. I think that it's somewhat similar to Rogue Perfumery's "Mousse Illuminee", but I prefer "Mousse Illuminee" over it. I appreciate owning both of them, though.
@ScentsOfSouthJersey
Жыл бұрын
Museum fragrance I like that lol. Mousse Illuminee reminded me more of polo the time I tried it. Thank you for watching !
I think this scent performs differently based on climates. When I first wore this scent, it was during the winter and the smell was very honeyed and some incense. I’m wearing this fragrance today since 2021 😂 and it’s a warm 75 degree day here in Dallas and the smell I’m picking up is amber and sandalwood, which I never smelled when I wore this a few years back in 35-40 degree weather. Definitely a one or two spray cologne, especially in warm weather. I think this fragrance is best in the cold, personally. But I do like how the complexities bring out different nuances with the weather. I’m sure many will shy away from this one because it will probably never garner compliments from the ladies. This fragrance is more of a personal pleasure fragrance…for a confident guy that doesn’t rely on the compliments, and for that matter, cares less about them!

I love Lapidus too - in one of your videos you said it blows Bogart Furyo away - I just received and tried some Furyo I found on eBay and it’s amazing, like a cross between Lapidus and Kouros, which I know you also love. Furyo is more reminiscent of Kouros than of Lapidus though. Please give Furyo another try - I was delighted with it.
Very accurate review. The Lap is a milestone in perfumery. Check out the life of the designer Ted Lapidus. He designed the epic white John Lennon costume. Sometimes I hate it and sometimes I love it. I had the og in the beginning of the nineties and that one was an extreme beast. Head achingly strong and stayed on skin even after showering. This one is toned down and it smells really good if you are into bold controversial frags with the right amount of dirt. I just love sometimes to spray these obnoxious beasts that scare off people. Black Incense Malaki from Chopard is in that same category. One spray fills the room and will turn heads. Really like these reviews. 👌

Oh it’s 80’s vibe to the core
My bro purchased Playboy Night in late 90s and enjoyed the fragrance. I have been searching for it since couldn't find it 20+ yrs later saw a vid on Gents scents, and he was speaking about Lapidus Pour Homme. That same day went into one of of our fragrance department store, saw it selling and smelt it and was shocked that this was the Playboy night scent I was looking for yrs. Thus I purchased 3 bottles two for me and one for my bro. Later I found out that Lapidus came out before Playboy Night. Thus Lapdius will ALWAYS be a main stay in my collection! And Great Vid!
I bought it last week i loved it
I'm wearing it right now lol might buy a new bottle once I run out.

I had always thought you had liked this one. Personally I love it. I agree most young people won’t like it but I’d say most people that love 80s stuff and Kouros will love it. Although its a powerhouse fragrance like Kouros and many Kouros fans love it,it can depolarizing still because of the synthetic ingredients. That's why even though we may love the notes and style, other times we wrinkle our nose at the synthetics. So I definitely see why you could go up and down with this fragrance. It's a love for me. But definitely a fragrance that's not for everyone

I remember in 1997 that this perfume was on the rise, along with Joop Homme. I live in Brazil and here it is very hot in the summer. People overused it. That stuck in my head to this day. Too stinsky.
love it,wear it often
Depending on an individual's background, this fragrance may form associations with certain people and places they have encountered, which may not always be positive. For instance, when discussing the aroma of bathroom soap at rest stops or in shops where weed is predominant. However, despite these associations, I reside in a region of Colombia where the temperature remains around 60 Fahrenheit year-round, and this particular scent complements my clothing exceptionally well, a personal preference I thoroughly enjoy. Nevertheless, I would conscientiously consult with my significant other to ensure it does not cause any discomfort, especially in formal settings where universally appealing fragrances might be more appropriate.
I recently acquired a 4 ml vintage miniature of this...I'm terrified at even smelling it, let alone wearing it... :)
thoughts on the flankers?
The imagery 🤣 So true tho. The blend can certainly be polarizing. I recall people warning me about Bogart Pour Homme back in the day, but that one has nothing on this one. Personally, I still prefer the honey in Boss #1. I.e., my preferred urinal cake. 😆

Rumor had it that Don “Miami Vice” Johnson wore this, but this was unsubstantiated. A woman smelled this on me one time and said, “Yuck! You smell like a pineapple covered in cigarette ashes.” One more thing: this is one of the most faked colognes out there, so buyer beware.

It’s all kinds of stuff lol
For me it’s probably the best fragrance of all time. Unsurpassable. A truly glorious mess.
This stuff lasts 12hr+ . It'll put hair on your arse , and curl it!😉
"Truck stop" soap. "Trailer park Kouros". Yep. Exactly. I get a strong, unpleasant reminder of a used car salesman, or someone who seems untrustworthy. Let's put it this way - Zino blows this stuff out of the water (sorry SOS!). Thanks for the honest review.

Funny, to me, Zino was kind of a disappointment. It's got this chemical tone to it and the lasting power is abysmal. Old formulations were definitely better.

I’d still prefer this over zino but those descriptions of LPH are exactly what I thought of
I own and love YSL Kouros, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Azzaro Pour Homme , Roger and Gallet Open BLACK....and many other classic powerhouses. However, Lapidus Pour Homme just plain STINKS....Its completely unwearible.
It smells like pineapple and musk infused urine... terrible haha Teddy boy has other better fragrances

That’s how I feel about Furyo lol
I like lapidus, its strong, weird, and funky.....it smells like the tow truck driver that changes the tire for the wusses that cant change a tire and wear aventus.

It’s a love hate for me lol
There is no way you are getting anything other than a synthetic mess when you are paying $20 for a bottle that lists 12 or more notes. Ask yourself if you really want to spray cheap chemical compounds on your skin, compounds that come from dubious, unregulated sources.

That’s what makes Lapidus pour Homme a legend lolll

Agree, let the sheep buy the metro shit instead
Not sure how people can love certain fragrances from this genre, such as Kouros, and not like this? My only con is I wish it was stronger. Love this juice 🤍
