Thanks for doing a review on this one. There are only a few out there and none recent I knew you'd like it! It's probably my top 3 favs of all time. I got this 2 years ago and I said to myself Kellan would love this. I have 4 bottles. 2 with boxes. Might be interested in a trade of some sort. Lol. Great review

Well done, as always. I remember this being available at the Carson Pierre Scott department store near my house on the Southside of Chicago. This stuff flew off of the shelves, as well as the original Polo and Polo Sport. Don’t know what sales were like in other parts of the country.

Kelan, loved your most recent appearance on Mr Smellys channel . Although nothing will ever equal the tipsey Kelan, who was in mourning after Tom Bradys first retirement . Anyway just two things . One, thanks for all of the new content that you've been churning out lately, and two . By now I'm sure your aware that the fragrance world is bracing itself for the release of the new Creed Aventus Absolu . Will you be reviewing it ?

Thanks so much for watching ! In my Original polo review I compared the vintage and current, I don’t see me doing a comparison between this and polo again in a separate video

I had a bottle I got in 2009 that lasted me until about 2015. Was so sad when I tried to eventually replace it to see it was discontinued and was only being sold for exorbitant prices. Shame I’ll likely never smell it again. WONDERFUL summer frag. Cologne intense is a decent replacement. Not really very similar, but it gives me a similar FEELING.

Dear Kelan, I'm lucky enough to have the modern reserve in my closet. I remember that back then, in 2008 I bought it because they have declared from the very beginning this is a "limited edition" so they planned to discontinue it in the first place, who knows why. Totally agree with you this is a modern take of the original. Thank you for all your awesome reviews.

It seems I gotta stick to the Cosmair version. Prices on a regular Polo aren’t as skyrocketing as MR. I always wondered how it was that version of the og . Thanks for the review!

Keep with the vintage original if you have to pick one, MR is awesome but the prices are to high

Great review. On a different subject, you mention you think you don't have any fragrance with myrrh. If you're interested in trying a myrrh fragrance, may I suggest 4711 Acqua Colonia Myrrh&Kumquat. Has nothing in common with Polo Reserve except for the Myrrh and also can rock it all year round, but leans more on warmer than cold climate. It is a little more expensive than 4711 Original, but has better performance. Slightly on the sweet and unisex side, but not overly so.

Where did you get your cologne

Dude I'm a 80/90's fragrance fan and Polo Green spray/deodorant was the je ne sais quoi of the ultimate masculine fall time smell. My friends in high school alll wore this fragrance smelling it every morning at school. Agree the Polo Red and Black are garbage.

That’s on deck soon, I wear that when it cools down, it was the first fragrance I wore in 2023, it’s so good

AH modern reserve. The polo dna basically removed of pine and added a fresh tomato salad bite at the top. Such a strange experience and polarizing but pine is a better top than green tomatoes imo lol

Had Patou PH at one time, and while good, it comes nowhere near Polo original form. You’re not missing much, just my opinion. Another excellent review. 👍🏻

Wow so the great Patou Pour Homme is nothing special? I always assumed that to because oh how ridiculous the price is, it would never live up to that cost nothing would

No pine, tobacco, and leather?? Seems like they pulled the legs from the original but glad this still is good. Looking forward to wearing Polo this winter. Nice shirt btw. Be well sir.

Yeah it still smells like polo, to me they just swapped out a few thick smelling notes and freshened it up a bit to the tune of 2008 standards

Easily the best flanker of the line. Closely followed by Crest. I saw that new Polo Oud announced and although I'm curious to smell it, my hopes are honestly in the toilet. 😆 Modern RL is nowhere near original RL. Thanks for this Kelan!

Yeah i think this edges out crest, I like crest a lot but it’s so close to og polo this gives it’s own spin on the og

@ScentsOfSouthJersey I'm not a big fan of the strong pine so Modern Reserve and Crest were my favorites . I have Polo Intense and its ok but not the same.

The OG Polo green is worth it if it hasn’t spoiled.

I have a review and comparison video of the two, the current formula performs pretty well I think, the biggest difference between the vintage and current is the opening and overall richness and it does last longer as well. If you buy a vintage just make sure it’s tested, Leparfumier sells vintage cosmair polo and it’s in prestige condition that’s where I got mine

Love original Polo Green, but this Modern Reserve can't be found for anything less than $300 like it's discontinued. I love the classics, but Kelan, why don't you ever do anything new?

Yeah the prices on this are very high, idk if I ever would have gotten it if it were not for that trade I did. There are plenty of channels that do reviews on all the popular new fragrances I review what I like and what I wear which is mostly classics or lesser known scents. Occasionally I will do a more modern fragrance if it’s in the same style of stuff I like

Interesting. It's a big basil and suede to me. I don't get much similarity with the OG, which to me is all about the pine, tobacco, and leather. I like Modern Reserve though.
