All other language KZreadrs are travelling now, probably because there’s more money in it now but you are a pioneer and will always be my favourite language youtuber❤ rest in peace Moses
Bro, Moses you inspire me so much. I'm Haitian and I speak about 4 languages, but only two fluently, English and Kreyol. I started learning Mandarin because of you and I started learning Igbo simply because I wanted to. The other day I had my FIRST EVER Level up moment ina and African store speaking to Nigerians lol. They were stand offish with me at first and being short when I asked them where they were from. Then i started speaking to them in Igbo, when I tell you THE WHOLE mood in the store changed lol Their face lit up .It was amazing lmao. I was hella nervous. But thank you for inspiring me to learn even more languages than just 2-4. I plan on learning at least 7.

Great Japanese but you shouldn't say "家内 kanai" to other's wife, because "kanai" is a humble language. "kanai" (but also "妻 tsuma", " 女房 nyou-bou", "嫁 yome"...etc) is always for "my wife" or literary language. Normally, when you want to say someone's wife, we Japanese say "奥さん oku-san" or "奥様 oku-sama" as a polite language.

gwajang iseyo. We koreans dont use that term at all its like a textbook phrase. You can say Ajik bujokhanjeomi manseupnida. 아직 부족한 점이 많습니다. "I still need to improve", which we use to say "you are being too nice." "I still have more rooms for improvements". You are extremely good at korean tho. You got em good

Yeah same with tagalog. For book he says aklat but they dont use that word anymore, its severely outdated, now they say libró. Same for nice to meet you, he says the super cringe outdated version when they just say it in english. Thats why they always laugh at him when he says it

@@toomuchtruth I'm not sure if youre aware, but there are spanish words in tagalog because the spanish conquered the Phillippines for over 300 years. Theres also alot of english in their language now too!
3:28 Unfortunately Japanese is not so simple when saying words for family members. In this instance, you can't just say "kanai" for "wife" in a general sense. "Kanai" is only used when referring to one's own wife. "Okusan" is the word you'd want to use when referring to someone else's wife. So when you said, "Kanai desu ka?", it sounded as if you asked the man "Is this MY wife?" That's probably the reason he didn't understand you at first. To be fair, you're probably more skilled at Japanese than I am, but I'm just pointing out a cultural aspect of the language that learners need to be aware of when communicating with natives. Language is not just a way of speaking to people, it's also their culture. We need to remember that. P.S. - I love these video titles lmao

I get that you're making a valid correction, but there's no need to lecture the man about cultural awareness. It's unnecessary. You have to remember that this man is fluent in several languages, and knowledgeable of dozens more, so there will always be room for improvement in each. Just humbly make your correction, there's no need for extras.

I don't think that's what happened. I think they are just confused with him saying "you're being too nice" in correlation to him being good in Korean. In the context of what he meant, it was just to say thank you in language that we understand. saying them being nice is a humble way of taking a compliment. I think they just didn't get the expression, since different language uses different expressions to convey feelings.

I’ve been OBSESSED with these videos since I found the a few months back. I’ve been trying to learn just a few useful phrases in a variety of languages for a while now but I always end up mixing them up and always have trouble understanding it in actual conversation and not just tapes. How do you manage to keep SO MANY languages straight? I rarely, if ever, see you mixing up different dialects and it astounds me! Are you leading one language at a time or something? Is there some trick you have for keeping everything separate in your mind or do you just have a gift for languages?
These videos help me get through quarantine
i LOVE those titles!

I'm so happy when he speaks tagalog. He speaks our language in a formal way and I'm impressed. I badly want to see you more with this kind of conversation with Filipinos, but sadly you're already up in heaven. Rest in peace Legend😥. May your soul rest in eternity Moses. We'll cherish all great videos.
I think a lot of people get scared at first when he ask where they are from, kind of like PTSD from people who has asked before, but for men’s or rude intentions, but he turns it around and greets them so nicely and tells them he would love to talk since he’s trying to learn. It makes me happy to see the worry drop off their face.
