So much now relies on regular maintenance, addblue level, glow plugs, many customers don't realise what a domino effect it can have when driving with a fault, unfortunately customers don't see what we do in our job, we'll done and well explained Jimmy 👍

Having the knowledge and the experience plus the correct tools you make it look simple jimmy when we know it’s not, the proper scan tool is definitely worth what you pay for it, nice post

And the glow plug comes out so easily. Whenever I do that I'm always sh+++ting myself that they'll snap.

Why do they find it so difficult to solve these problems in the main dealers ,like the videos very straightforward no bull

These manufacturers are out fleece the customer at every opportunity, refilling the add blue should clear the code without the need for Mr average who doesn't have a scan tool to visit a workshop.

but then if you have like this guy driven it a significant distance and blocked the dpf to allow it to perhaps try a regen on its own could cause a fire or damaging the dpf so actually its a decent failsafe , and the excuse of o i didn't know it was running out is no excuse as all modern cars give you a warning well in advance of it actually running out

But like he says, you get the warning, you top it up and away you go. You don't have to reset a fault code every time you run the fuel tank down to the last gallon, so why the ruddy adblu? It's a giant scam. @@nigelsears7191

We have tractors with dpf's and it concerns me how long we've got before they malfunction & won't self clean. Do you have any experience of cleaning out a tractor dpf? Just interested to know if it's possible like you do with the cars.

A DPF makes no sense whatsoever on a tractor. The whole idea of them was to trap soot particles in densely populated areas & then regen out on the open road. What creates problems with DPFs is when the engine never gets a chance to heat properly. I’ve never had a problem with DPF because I live in the country & I tow a fair bit. A tractor should be working hard regularly so that should help.

Possibly a fair comment about manufacturers but remember the end user needs to be more pro active in looking after their cars or vans .it's not the engines that are unreliable but the emissions systems strangling the engine the extended service times don't help either
