Спорт
Steve’s quest for a giant mule deer buck continues in central Idaho. To help Steve in his journey, Ryan Callaghan has offered up one of his best spots as well as his keen spotting skills. The duo backpack hunt in some of the West’s steepest and prettiest mountains seeking the colossal buck of Steve’s dreams. In part two Steve finds the buck he's been searching for his whole life. The dream is realized and Steve and Ryan feast on a slow cooked roast.

Now this is how a real hunter reacts to shooting a good deer. He just observes it, then walks to it and respects the animal, then is glad in his good fortune and the meat that will feed his family. He doesn't jump up and down and high five everyone around and scream and holler. I love the way this guy hunts.

Looking back…this is my favorite MeatEater episode ever. Steve and Cal…stud Muley…backcountry…just a good thing.
I've watched quite a few of his shows, and that is as emotional as he gets. What a tank.
The only hunting show thats ever kept me wanting more. Keep doing what you're doing Steve That buck was ridiculous
Steve a real wingman 3:23, love it haha
I've hunted muley's all my life in northern Utah. I too have 'that day' when you get the buck of a lifetime - the one you've been looking for all your life. I was blessed to harvest the buck with my two teen children onboard, solidifying the love of hunting in their eyes for a lifetime. Keep doing what you're doing Steve. These are the days that make life, well, life.

Netflix would have contract with MeatEater that it holds distribution rights for X amount of time, and when that’s over, the distribution rights return to MeatEater. It’s much better than Netflix having permanent distribution rights and just deciding not to host it anymore due to bandwidth vs views and so just shelving it.
Ryan Callaghan and S. Rinella by far and away the best Meat Eater video ever.

The fellow commenters are exactly right. I started hunting in 2019 in my late 30s with no family or friends that hunt. Shows like this, as well as Steve's books, have been a HUGE inspiration. Just get out there and do it. Last year, in only my second year hunting, I got 3 deer, 3 turkeys, a goose, and some squirrels. I attribute a lot of it to Steve and the whole Meateater crew.

If I had hunted for years and using his own words finally get a chance at " a giant", I'm having that buck mounted...long after all the chops and steaks are gone! A beautifully mounted trophy is the ultimate tribute to animals and memories of that hunt. I have over 30 different mounts from North America and Africa and all of them are priceless treasures for me... That's just me...

There’s no other animal that catches my interest more than a mule deer
I’ve watched him shoot and hunt countless animals over the years and I have never seen him this wordless it was awesome that no matter how long you hunt you still get moments like this
I would like to thank Steve for the hardest laugh of the week with Ryan’s bachelor qualities. I didn’t know I needed a laugh like that but wiping away tears, it was exactly what I needed
That buck is a dandy Steve. Those benchmade knives are the best! Their warranty is top notch

I agree with that. Getting to see Steve finally get his honorable kill on a warrior class buck made me very happy. Seeing him pitch to the ladies for his buddy also made me very happy. As men we rarely get the kind of friends that go on our adventures, watch our backs and truly enjoy making the memories that last until our dying days. Being a great cook doesn't hurt either. ;)

I’m not into trophy hunting, but I can appreciate Steve’s desire for a trophy mule deer. If you are going to go for trophies this is the way to do it, a real hunting expedition, and not wasting anything after dropping your buck.
Be a good predator. That line is the best moment in any outdoor show I've ever watched.

Steve PIMPING out Ryan hahaha “bring the fight to him ladies” you guys rock keep doing what y’all are doing we all enjoy ever video!
That rack is an absolute living room conversation piece. Gorgeous monster muley
I admire Steve's tenacity just as much as he admires this deer and I respect him as much as he respects all game animals. We'll deserved my good man!!
By far Rinella has the best hunting videos including the delicacy of cooking. JC
The reverence for the animal is what always touches me. Great teamwork, too.
The way he butchered the deer & explained it is exceptional!
Lastly, it’s crazy how the buck knows trouble is afoot and he needs to scram, you don’t get that big by being in one place too long, but he just cannot resist, you can see him literally struggling with his animal instincts while he knows danger is close by. It’s actually kind of fascinating.
True friends are hard to come by. Trust me I know. In 58 years I've managed to find two. I'd take a bullet for either one.
Watched this video several times. If someone deserves a deer this caliper is you bud. Keep the stories coming! Thank you.
Your initial reaction, adjusting the hat and giving a sigh of relief, says it all. Congrats on the finality of the hustle and the beginning of the enjoyment of the hunt. You've obviously put in the miles.
Bucks friend: hey go talk to that girl what's the worst that could happen? Buck: sure why not. Buck now....

What an absolute magnificent Buck!! Congratulations Steve!!
Steve plugging his boy to the ladies during the show, lmao..What a good friend.
I can't believe how much I was cheering for Steve to get that buck. What an awesome deer. I think I was more excited than he was.
We need a Meateater Bachelorette for Ryan. Hosted by Steve with special guests 😀😀 Seriously tho, I hope Cal finds the one for him.
1. Steve is the buddy everyone needs. 2. That might be the best buck I've ever seen. Dang!! That's a great buck!
The pure happiness in Steve’s face about that buck is something I really look forward too for all the same reasons.
I enjoy this show because he shows everything including his mistakes when he is hunting or whatever he is doing
Congrats Steve, I know this was a huge dream of yours.
Congratulations Steven on a mullie of a lifetime !! At least the one you've been waiting for !! Doesn't get any better than that to be with a good close friend to get a trophy like that !! Awesome hunt
2:52 is the moment ol'Cal killed a buck even tough he already used his tag 🤣
One of my idols… what you’ve accomplished is astonishing what a buck
Awesome Mule Deer. Congratulations. 2020 I got my first eight point buck White Tail in West Virginia. Hunting 40+ years. What an awesome feeling.
Dude! Dandy, unique, mature. I truly am happy for you Steve. Your path to that buck, through the years, could almost be summed up as one long hunt. You were at that point of desperation where we all get on a tough hunt sometimes. Feeling like we aren't going to see anything. Whether it be a mature or even a legal buck. Only you were talking about your search for that one buck. I thought that was poetic and somewhat ironic. 😊 I have shared this with all my buddies. I've been long time fan of your hunting shows, hunting philosophy, ethics and how you process and cook game. My grandfather taught me all I know about hunting and cooking deer. It's nice to see others that share the same philosophies, processes, and responsibility of being a hunter. Congratulations again!!!
“We drove the deer out of the country” He now lives in Canada and has a family he supports and is enjoying his northern life.
Mule deer + traeger grill = meat candy. At least that’s what we call it. NICE buck!
I had a "stay calm pick a spot" or some such sticker on my bow when I was younger. I used to get so excited haha
I teared up because I know how special this was for him. Steve has changed the way I hunt and the way I look at taking an animal. What a great role model!
I mean, even without wingman Steve's comments, Cal has long been my top celebrity crush.
Those backstraps are absolutely gigantic.
That thing is a proper serious unit man, I absolutely would’ve had to kept that thing in a full head mount. Once in a lifetimer there.
That is one heck of a Mule Buck! Steve finally got the one he has always been looking for!
This is the best show on any platform. TV….Internet…..doesn’t matter. Nothin touches it 👌🏼👌🏼

Steve's deer looks like the muley that callahan went after in the beginning of the episode.
i love Steve looking out for his boy Callaghan lol!. Hey you single ladies hit your boy up.
There are serious mule deer hunters that will never see a buck like that in their life.
lmaao i love Steve haha, being a great wingman. Im so glad to see the episodes reposted here ♥ thank you.
Started hunting a year ago and killed my first and only deer. This year i plan on hitting it a lot harder and looking for some bigger bucks. I come from a family that does not hunt and did not grow up in this passion. It is challenging learning all that needs to be known by yourself but i will continue chasing that feeling i had when i walked up on that little spike buck last year. The off season hunting has really grown into a huge passion of mine and i am waiting with baited breath until hunting season. Part of the reason i went in the first place is because of Steve and Cal's passion for hunting and the outdoors. I can definitely say now i am a lifer when it comes to hunting.
American Buffalo was the best book I read this year, and I read a lot!
This group of guys and gals... Top notch human beings. To work for them must be the greatest job in the world

I want SO MUCH to hunt mule deer ! I better get on it ! I am No longer a young man . That was one HECK of a Mule deer !! Congratulations.
Neck roast on deer, moose, and elk are by far my favourite. I used to never keep deer shanks, but tried to cook them like a lamb shank and now there's no going back they're delicious!
What an incredible deer! Every time I saw it on screen I was able to count more tines! XD
Congrats Steve, big mile deer are special animals...especially on public land. Well done
I love how the pretty much just highlight the while Frank Church to say "yeahhh we're somewhere in there, that's all the hints you get"
Great Buck Steve! That is an absolute stud and will be a life memory. Congratulations
Wonderful! Waidmannsheil!
Kudos on a dandy muley Steve. I got spoiled at the young age of 15 when I shot a heavy and wide 5x5 near Shell Wyoming on a trip with my dad. I’ll never forget how happy I was and the pride in my dad’s smile.
I realize that laws vary from one state to the next, but I'm surprised that Rinella and crew don't wear at least a little blaze orange. Especially on public ground. Great hunt, fantastic series. These guys rock.
I’m headed to this unit tomorrow from TX. I know lots have changed since this was filmed but I can’t wait to experience it first hand.
Steve is the only guy I know that would not mount that deer 😂
Congratulations on the muley of your dreams Steve. Good things come to those who wait.
