Always the delta for me when I was about 14 the first car I ever drove was a 1.3 5dr I'd imagine rarer than a intergralle now

But, people forget just how light cars like the Integrale was, compared to modern cars - 218hp enough for sub-6 seconds to 60.

Love hearing Tiff tell the stories of racing days of yore. The automotive racing history he shares is lovely and brings back fond memories of watching the sport back then.

Love the history lessons from Tiff...bring back memories of old when the Scooby, Evo and Celica ST205 were tearing the tarmac in Msia...that was when i first saw Colin McRae and Kenneth Eriksson... Years later i finally bought an Evo...just so that I can cherish the rally of yesteryear...Tq guys...

between these two, i'd take the delta hf integrale every time.

This brought back memories of the WRC in Kenya back in 95, great times!!

I've never been a great fan of Tiff Needell but I have to respect his encyclopedic knowledge of cars.

This makes me want to just ride around with Tiff in old sports cars and listen to him talk.

Anyway here is a message for Tiff : I really hated the Group-B banning because after Group-B we all suppose to have the Group-S witch they were literally mid-engines 4x4 PROTOTYPES of Supercars at WRC rally : Audi Quattro group-S, Lancia ECV 2, Peugeot Quasar, BMW M1, Ferrari 288 GTO, Seat Ibiza BiMotor, Lancia Beta S2 4x4, Opel Kadett 4x4 GSi, Toyota MR2 222D 4x4, Mazda RXT7-S 4x4, Lada Samara EVA 4x4, FSO Strato-Polonez 4x4, and finally but not as less impressive the Ford RS 200 Group-S Evolution recreated by it's father John Wheeler the man behind Ford RS 200.. ;0)

Lancia everyday of the week. Iconic in it's form & function.

The comparison no one asked for but everyone wanted!! It's really difficult to choose between the Delta and the Impreza but I'm leaning towards the Subaru just because I grew up in the late 90s watching the Impreza slaying WRC.

Very entertaining and informative video. Loved seeing both these rally legends on the road in such good condition with insightful commentary to boot. Takes me back to the days of late 90's Top Gear.

It's a lot but I absolutely love the gauge cluster on that Delta Integrale. That throbbing flat four from the Subaru is so nice to listen. Have to say I love that bug-eye look ( Corolla had one too ) more so than the later versions. Next time test drive new WRC warriors Toyota Yaris GR and upcoming 2020 Hyundai i20 N. Love your show!

I agree, love the fussy old clusters. I like the bugeye front too. The blob eye actually looks too bulbous to me at the front. Hawkeye after was better but I love a bugeye sti! Great cars really. I had a very rare JDM bugeye sti wagon which was awesome.

I felt like Tiff was my uncle teaching me about rally :)

The similarities between the GD and the Integrale in the fenders are pretty cool - the Impreza was definitely inspired by the Integrale

The Integrale is also a car of the 90’s 👍🏻

And 80's my first integrale was an 89' the original Hf 4wd was 86", the integrale took over in 87'.

I had a red Integrale poster in my room! I loved that car. Still looks good today.

This is magic! Equally jealous and happy for Paul! The Lancia is of course the greatest, but I have loved the bugeye WRX design since it launched and it has only improved with age. Hugely underrated.

I'm not old enough to see the Lancia Integrale dominate during Group A rally but a lot of my time in younger years was spent watching Solberg on the telly driving the pants off the various WRXs. I never really got the hate for the Bugeye WRX, for me it was the MY06-07 Hawkeye that was the ugly one of the GDB Impreza.

I grew up during the era of Colin McRae, Petter Solberg, and Richard Burns. As an 11 year old, I got the chance to go watch the Welsh rally. We sat on a grass verge overlooking the track, drank tea, and every so often the stewards whistle would go off, and you'd hear a load of downshifts, anti-lag popping away, and then suddenly a bright blue Impreza or a battle scarred Focus would come out of the dark and four-wheel drift past, grab traction and shoot out of the corner. To go from playing Colin McRae Rally on my playstation to seeing it all happen infront of me was amazing. I also had this VHS tape talking about the Group B era and earlier, and that was when I found out about 'Climb Dance' showing Ari Vatanen driving a Peugeot 405 T16 during Pikes Peak in 1988. I lost interest the moment McRae's death was announced.

I don’t know much about lancia so it is good to learn especially learn great car history in WRC

As a 40 year old car enthusiast i am a bit shocked about Paul. A professional petrolhead of his age not beeing able to name Juha Kankunnen and Mikki Biasion? And them beeing less known? Maybe in Britain, but not in continental europe. (at least among rallye fans) Kankunnen for example was Richard Burns' Teammate at Subaru and was 4 times World Rallye Champion and won the Paris Dakar once!

I've owned 3 integrales and I currently drive a 2004 Prodrive-tuned WRX STi. Only because I can no longer afford an integrale! The Impreza is super impressive, very quick and tons of torque. But turn-in is woolly and it has absolutely zero soul. All my Lancias fell to bits, near-constantly. Once a door handle snapped, so I was frightened to open the door after that! But I LOVED them all with a passion. I felt like Miki Biasion every time I popped down to the shops. It sounds silly in a way for a piece of machinery, but Lancias have soul. Drive an integrale and you'll understand. The fiery devil-may-care passion of those engineers and designers still burns fiercely everytime you turn the key.

Les poignées de porte se casses, ça ne met jamais arrivé en 30 ans,la refabrication en alu anodisé nouvelles. Après faut pas exagérer,la voiture est de construction de qualité.

I had that same Prodrive Impreza in black. It didn’t look too bad at all in the metal. Mine was the PPP version so over 300 bhp and 0-62 in 4.52 seconds 🚀

Great video. I love the blobeye. I currently own a 2003 jdm sti v-limited Peter solberg edition. The one to celebrate his wrc win.

When the various Group A Delta's were being homologated the Build Number required Was 5000 in a year, 2500 came in after 1992.

Several videos down since we last spoke.. And still showing "Latest video".. I think you've got it nailed finally!! 😉👍

Hands down couldn't click link quick enough. Would love Tiff to work his way through modern classic race and rally cars. In particular please get Tiff to do a feature in his old Sierra Cossie touring car or a similar speced one to what he drove and get him on track doing us a history lesson whilst ragging it round a track.
