Yes, I have turned my 75 year old mother into a Lana Del Ray fan. I played all this for her last year when we visited. When I saw her earlier in the week sh asked me to play that "really pretty girl who sings real slow" for her. With pleasure, mama.

Sentiment.
i'll never forget the first time i ever heard lana del rey. i was reading a newspaper at the local club and on the last page saw a small article with title going something like "rich daddy's girl thinks she can make it a music industry" and saying how her dad paid producers and what not. i think to myself "i bet she's got no talent and sounds like shit and make some silly pop music". i go home later that day i search lana del rey in youtube and this song pops up. it was just pure magic, something you'd never in a million years expect to hear going in thinkin "let hear this new cheap pop girl". it's to this day one of my all time favorite songs, it give me goosebumps ever damn time. this song will never get old.

I found her through the SNL performance. I don't ever watch SNL, but they were saying this singer did worse than Ashley Simpson, so I looked it up expecting something horrendous and it was Lana. I thought it was very good, very unique and soft. I've been a fan ever since.

ngl I missed this kind of cinematic and romanticized Lana. She's so distinctive from all the artists both before and her current times. Although her newer albums are great too, Born to Die and Ultraviolence are just unique pieces of art.

Why? (Got that?) Who, me? (Louder) Why? (Got that?) I feel so alone on the Friday nights Can you make it feel like home if I tell you you're mine? It's like I told you, honey (louder) Don't make me sad, don't make me cry Sometimes love is not enough And the road gets tough, I don't know why Keep making me laugh Let's go get high The road is long, we carry on Try to have fun in the meantime Come and take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane, so (louder) Choose your last words, this is the last time 'Cause you and I, we were born to die Lost but now I am found I can see that once I was blind I was so confused as a little child Tryna take what I could get Scared that I couldn't find All the answers, honey (louder) Don't make me sad, don't make me cry Sometimes love is not enough And the road gets tough, I don't know why Keep making me laugh Let's go get high The road is long, we carry on Try to have fun in the meantime Come and take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane, so (louder) Choose your last words, this is the last time 'Cause you and I, we were born to die We were born to die (We were born to die, we were born to die, we were born to die) We were born to die Come and take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane So, don't make me sad, don't make me cry Sometimes love is not enough And the road gets tough, I don't know why Keep making me laugh Let's go get high The road is long, we carry on Try to have fun in the meantime Come and take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane, so (louder) Choose your last words, this is the last time 'Cause you and I, we were born to die We were born to die (We were born to die, we were born to die, we were born to die) We were born to die Why? (Got that?) Who, me? (Louder) (We were born to die, we were born to die, we were born to die) Why? (Got that?)
The melancholy in her songs are so magnetic.. they pull you in closer and closer and you want to hear more of her.. until you feel really sad and depressed and yet you want more and more of her cuz it somehow connects you to yourself.. the "you" you abandoned deep deep inside, the "you" that needs healing and thus you come closer to spiritual evolution through her music. Lana Del Rey is a wonder that we are blessed to have in this era. A woman with an old soul.. with more alignment to the source energy and thus you feel "high" listening to her, because she without a doubt is spiritually on a more elevated level to be able to create masterpieces of art. True art like hers comes from spiritual awakening, no one can be faking stuff like this.

I don’t think she means dying literally. She means their relationship is meant to die. So she’s asking, just keep making me laugh, don’t make me cry or sad because eventually this will be over so let’s just fill it with what we want. Whether she’s leaving him, or he does, it’s coming to an end.

The beginning of this song will forever send chills down my spine. The first Lana song that made me realize that she was for me. Someone who so effortlessly captured my feelings for life and my confusions. All of my questions about life and death and purpose, reason, she also has those same questions. Brilliantly and poetically crafted into a marvel of beauty. This song means more to me than any other song could. This is my truest testimony, my modern manifesto. I am eternally grateful to have lived in the same time as Lana Del Rey and even more-so that I was able to listen to Born To Die. This is art, this is love, this is our lives. We were all born to live and we were all born to die.

Tell that the the Grammy Award is like the Popular Kid at school... Just because they're popular, doesn't automatically mean they're a good person. Just like an album or artist not winning a Grammy doesn't mean they aren't absolutely amazing or deserving of it. (or, take the other approach: comparing how good people might not be popular, in the same way good artists don't always get awards, even though both are deserve it.)

You think you can hurt me? I'm listening to this music every day for 4 years and I releate every part of this masterpiece.
Lana from 2012-2014 was from another world. This 50‘s vibes, with this Hollywood attitude are magical. Doin‘ Time was maybe her last song with this powerful magic. She perfected Dreamcore, that's what she did best and that's what defined her. Her new Songs and her voice Are still good, no question. I think she would not be Not that famous, if she started with her new Songs. The unreachable, iconic, vintage girl has gone.
This is not depressive but melancholy, nostalgic, poignant and intense. It gives you the feeling of something lost, something that used to be beautiful and mesmerizing but now it's gone like a childhood sensation. It makes me think about the time I visited the place I grew up in thinking I would feel the same as when I was youg, but it didn't happen.

lana del rey sings about grief in her songs the thing with grief for me is that its about loss but when grief is felt its transformational . We can go back to the places in our childhood and see them with eyes of joys. The feelings of joy and wonder and curiousity of the inner child are available to when I start loving , reparenting and protecting and speaking up for that inner child it becomes safe for him, to come out and express himself more

I remember listening to Born To Die for the first time. As soon as Lana started to sing the first line, I was blown away. It felt like I have waited all my life for this kind of song/voice/music/singer. It was heavenly.

Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets taugh, I don't know why 😢 I will never forget you, my dear Marina. Saturdays at 11, Lana del Rey, Disney and an immense love between us. No words can describe how much I miss you
My late fiancé and I had such a crazy relationship he ended up passing but the love we had was so much of this intensity. He was my best friend, my love, my soulmate, and before he passed, before I met him and I heard this song and it was so intense to me.

Really a beautiful song...great vibe. Really has a 1960s sound to it....very well done.
this song makes me feel something I've never felt before and it's so intense. It's like... the situation with this very special person to me that I consider a soulmate. We met in a different country, spent time together for four months, and then I had to go back to my country... And this song plays in my mind every time I miss her. It's been 6 months now.
It feels so good to be sad while listening to this song :(
