Lamborghini Miura S: Brought Back From The Ashes
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Join this Lamborghini Miura S and it’s owner on an evening drive through Northern California and learn about the amazing story behind this amazing piece of automotive history. Enjoy full-throttle fly-bys, start-up, raw exhaust clips, onboard driving shots and cinematic clips featuring the detailed lines of the Miura S.
This Miura S originally was owned by an Abarth racing driver in Northern Italy where it was crashed during a track day at Monza. The car was taken back to Lamborghini and rebuilt using the same VIN to avoid additional taxes and counted twice in the production run of roughly 748 Miuras ever produced.
The Lamborghini Miura S is one of the most significant pieces of automotive design thanks to its ingenious group of engineers and designers that took part in its development. Gian Paolo Dallara, Bob Wallace, Paolo Stanzani, Marcello Gandini, and Giotto Bizzarrini all played a major role in its development. Dallara, Wallace, and Stanzani developed the prototype, while Giotto Bizzarrini developed the V12, and 25-year-old Gandini was in charge of the interior and exterior design. In the end, the car was given a mid-engine layout, a tremendous V12 (that was in use through 2011 in various iterations) and stunning design cues still in use today.
Enjoy raw engine sounds, startup, full throttle flybys, backfires and onboard footage.

Yep. Sex appeal on four wheels! Only ever seen one live here DownUnder... and it was dented! 😎
My favorite Italian car. This was way ahead of it's time for just it's looks. It looked like it was going 200mph just sitting.
The starter motor whine is epic.
I think I found a replacement for Petrolicious :)

Thinking the same thing. This format is what made them special to me at least.

Cars like this never age.
pure magic DTS, thank you... what a gem... I totally get it, our only car (slightly earlier) was an Aston Martin DB 2/4, we picked up my sister in it when I was almost five from the hospital (she's adopted) so as far as she's concerned, she was born in it... she also used to "live in the steering wheel" totally daddy's girl. He too used to race, mainly hill climbs, but this thing was our only family car at the time. Some time later, a very special project was bought home... and progressed over a year or two (like many projects that progressed in the garage, dad was an automotive engineer) only this was a scale model... of a Miura ... its incredible shapes completely engrossed us, of course it had to be the original burnt orange that Marcello Gandini chose for the prototype... even though many years later dad is no longer with us, I still have it together with its little brother an S which like yours is yellow. One day a couple of years ago a good friend who's a mechanic sent me a random text out of the blue that he'd just seen an espada, and he thought he should steal it for a crazy adventure over the hills, I happened to be passing about an hour later and had to stop.... utterly dumb founded with Gandini's beguiling shapes... ... it was not for sale, as it had already been sold, but a guy in the shop (x Ferrari racing driver) was about to take it for a run, realised I was totally smitten, and invited me to join him on his weekly run... so I got to witness the incredible beauty of the engine, its sounds combined with the gearbox and the intoxication of this extremely low and wide four seater, such extreme and extraordinary shapes. The heady mix of Gandini's talent with the brilliance of Wallace, Stanzani and Dallara at that time is hard to comprehend today... thanks for sharing your family's history with us - Bravo!
One of the most beautiful cars ever made. My older brother had scalextric one in yellow. As young boy I remember looking at that in awe.
Visited the Lamborghini factory the summer of 1981. Saw the Countach being built. To think that the Muria was developed in the 60's is the original super car indeed.
The Miura IS The Most Beautiful Car Ever!
Absolutely gorgeous. Dream drive! More old cars 😉

Still pinching myself after filming this. That engine is something else. There is so much depth to the sounds from the carbs, transmission whine, intake, etc.
The quintessence of design, a treat for the eye, unrivaled, will probably never be surpassed.

You'd wonder how the first owner blew the engine up at Monza with all that oil in the sump. It doesn't have the split sump that the later SV had! Very strange as there was a huge amount of oil in that sump to supply the transaxle and the engine. Can't understand why Bob Wallace di properly restored restore the car as he was its' development driver in period. A strange tale. I can understand why the Illinois loca thought it was a spaceship as it's definitely an UFO!

Really interesting. Your father has exceptional taste, choosing both my favourite Italian cars. I love cars from this era, they are so mechanical and involving from a time before driver aids, just man and machine, producing a sensory overload.
My favorite car of all time. ❤
Incredible car made better by the quality of the content and film quality. Great job.
Derek, thank you for such a personal story of your family's car. The video and sound is so amazing!
I really love this video. A spectacular machine, gorgeous photography and a very interesting description of it's history and personal connection. top job! I hope I see it running the Bay Area back roads someday.
Awesome video I really enjoyed this, the Miura is one if the most special cars ever designed and built i helped restore one 15 years back il never forget it.
gorgeous. I could sit in a chair and look at the car all day the way somone could llook at a monet painting in a museum. IAwesome video as well. Great job capturing the engine sound all throughout the video. Please take me for a ride one day,

Yes! A both beautiful and accurate story of a Miura. May you keep your father's legacy forever! Ex-4142, current 3261
As I watched this, it hit me; was this filmed on highway 9 along the San Lorenzo River, around Ben Loman and Boulder Creek?? Beautiful setting and wonderful sounds! Remember running my 2001 Mustang Bullitt on that road about two months after they'd resurfaced it. It was magical!
I love Miura!
The best lambo ever

A great story and a lovely film. Obviously the car is not too bad either! Subscribed.
This is an incredible video
Solid car story!!!
Finally an owner talks about his car video setting returns!! Petrolicious lost that opportunity before, it took away the passion and personality of those who dared own these magnificent cars.
bodywork was done excellent

One of the best videos on Muira bar NONE ! As it seems maybe hard to compare. But the truth is a Datsun 240Z is the exact same driving experience. In everyday clothes! Yet still as analog ,still as attention getting, still attention demanding. But can be driven not only all day. But it takes hours to get the smile off your face and off your mind. Try one, you WILL wax poetically upon one ! Just as " beautiful"....
Lovely car color and imagery. And local. Too bad title talks about the V12 but no footage of the hood open or shots of the engine tho.

I know, I’ve been kicking myself for not including that 🤦🏻♂️
A great story. Forgive me if I sound uninformed - I was always under the impression that the fins on the doors are always in black. I've noticed that this car's fins are body colour. Was this an option or a choice to paint it body colour instead of black? Ever since this video I've seen that some cars have the fins in body colour. I hope someone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks.
Beautiful car! Yellow is a very good color for this car. However, the original eye lashes should put back in. That's how it was made.

@@tomdujardin1554 To be honest, no, but it doesn't have the more dramatic fender flares I've seen on SV's so I'm quite sure it's just an S, and the SV has a wider track than the S does, which shares its dimensions with the normal P400 to my knowledge. Also the badge says S on the back lol.

It's an S with an SV nose. The lack of eyelashes and the front bumper, turn signals, and fog lights are SV, but the rear clip and wheels are S. Understandable given its history.
