They're thinking if they just tie it up, that Mahomes will at least drive for a field goal, so you're trying to score touchdowns fast to get ahead. The taunting call maybe not, but I think a lot of the mistakes made by both the Bills and the Ravens looked a lot like teams being worried about a tie game and Mahomes getting the ball on the last drive. And honestly, even with the Ravens defense pitching a shut out in the 2nd half. Would you place a bet that if they had tied it up that Patrick wouldn't drive them down the field on the last drive and got a field goal? That's the problem with Mahomes. He's got such a legend for being clutch already you can't feel confident making the "smart" football decisions because you feel like he'll beat you if you do. Instead teams feel pressure to put the game out of easy reach. At least force him to need a touchdown.

If you can't win against the Chiefs only scoring 17 and at home you are never beating them.

The biggest mistake the OC made was not calling more plays for Odell. He is the highest paid WR on the team who you signed to be a big play, clutch, veteran play maker, but they play Agohlor and Bateman more than him and they constantly drop passes. Lamar made some mistakes but he also masked the mistakes that his offense made and he shouldered the offensive load by himself. This was the equivalent of watching Mahomes vs Tampa in the superbowl.

No, the biggest mistake was not establishing the run game. You know, the reason to how they got here? Chiefs are 18th in rushing yards allowed. The Bills gashed them 182, and Todd Monken decides to just throw and throw.

We have to acknowledge the shortcomings of teams aren’t always on the players. Patience is a virtue (understanding time cannot be rushed or slowed so slow down and control NOW). It’s inexcusable for the Ravens, the NFL’s top rushing team, to have only handed it off 6x in a 17-10 ball game. That tells me the moment was too much for the coaches. They allowed KC to “speed” them up unnecessarily and divert them into a game that was entirely out the norm. BAL went down outside of their identity. Coaches should’ve gotten the players and themselves, under emotional control, then you live with them results as long as you’re true to yourself.

The reason Ravens held Chiefs to no points in second half is KC was playing it safe. When the other team can’t score, no reason to risk things by putting the ball in the air. Proof? Once they needed to seal the game, Pat goes deep…game over. Chiefs dominated this game from start to finish and could’ve scored another 10-14 points in second half, if necessary…just wasn’t.

The playcalling was terrible. There were times Lamar could’ve actually ran and got it first down, but I think he tried to win so bad from the pocket that it cost him the game. But Zay Flowers made some bonehead plays in one drive gets a big run and then gets a 15 yard penalty. Gets a great and then fumbles into the endzone. That changes the game completely!!

He’s an incredible athlete, but his best throws are when he’s playing backyard football and you can’t build an offense like that. His numbers are mediocre at best, it’s just never been proven that you can win a Super Bowl with a run first qb

When the Big Lights shine Lamar just can’t get it done It doesn’t make him a horrible player it just means he can only take a team so far Some players just aren’t built for pressure I believe he still should be the MVP of the regular season

I'm trying to figure out who is more annoying. People saying "the refs were fixing the game to get Taylor Swift to the Super Bowl." No, a few close calls (or non-calls) not going the way you wanted DOES NOT EQUAL a game that was being fixed. or All the people claiming ABSOLUTELY NOBODY WHATSOEVER AT ALL picked the Chiefs to win that game, and that they were, if you asked them, pretty much the biggest underdogs EVER. Less than a majority picking you and therefore, not favored (which yes, they were not) DOES NOT EQUAL nobody at all anywhere picking you and the biggest underdog we've ever seen. The number of people that seem to need to learn one of thoes two things is astonishing.

Give them the ball with 1 minute left in a one score game and EVERYONE in the stadium, including the opposition knows how it’s gonna end. That is what being HIM means.

They certainly did abandon the run game, with the RB anyway. I just needed Edwards to get 25 yards and couldn't even do that lol. And I needed Mahomes to get 2 more rushing yards. Sad, both parlays ruined. Rough night.

Every year Lamar plays like MVP in the regular season but plays like average QB in the playoffs.

I’ve been a Colts/Ravens fan since the 60s and don’t think I’ve ever witnesses a worse offensive game plan as the one yesterday. How does a running team hand the ball off SIX TIMES to its DB’s. Absolutely the most pathetic play calling I’ve ever witnessed. Also the bone headed penalties gave KC five first downs. Just a very undisciplined effort.

Put some respect on the Chiefs you’ve all told us how we can’t play and aren’t good enough

The Ravens beat themselves by deviating from using their running backs who only carried the ball 6 times when they usually carry it 35 or more times. Like Lamar just had to prove that he could win this game by himself through a combination of throwing the ball and running it HIMSELF. So in REALITY buddy, KC didn't beat the Ravens, Lamar's deviation from the use of his backs did the offense in. Running the ball is what got the Ravens there in the first place and they only uncharacteristically ran the ball 16 times on KC

Andy Reid has always been a good coach but unfortunately eagles management and quarterback weren’t as good to get them a Super Bowl win during his reign with them. Although Philly fans were really tired of him losing in important games by the time he was fired but we are back on board again lol

@@DavidLee-vp3nr I do agree with this statement but only time will tell. Having Travis Kelce certainly doesn’t hurt. Would Mahomes do as well without a Kelce? Andy Reid also drafted Travis. Tom Brady went onto win with Tampa and with the patriots he quantitatively proved he was the key in all of those scenarios. Mahomes May end up playing in Kansas City for his entire career through although my guess is Andy Reid will most definitely retire in the near future so it’ll be easier to gage how much of a diff the coach made. Some of his success is def coaching. Andy Reid couldn’t get the job done in Philly but he did have 4 nfc title appearances with a mid quarterback. I honestly don’t personally think if Nick Sirianni was Mahomes coach that they would be in the superbowl but Mahomes is that good that maybe they would be.

I have no earthly idea why it sure seemed that the Ravens did not take the Chiefs seriously. This, when what separated the Chiefs from the regular season record they had, and a much better one, was frighteningly little. They were far better than their record suggested. You just can't win as many ballgames when your QB is laying passes right in recievers' hands and they are dropping them. Now his receivers are catching again. They are dangerous.

Been a fan since the Steve DeBerg era. WE went through some terrible teams. It was the Chiefs kingdom that sent a message saying we want better team. Now our "worst" year means the kingdom still is going to the super bowl. You may hate us, disrespect us, but you will still have to deal with the chiefs!!!

I hate that kind of narrative: Fully willing to give the ravens defense their due against an offense that was trying to run out the clock, but not giving the Chiefs defense their due when all year they've been the best 2nd half defense all year. They showed up tonight against against a desperate explosive offense. If the ravens D gets credit, the Chiefs D also gets credit.

The Ravens did not pound the run game ??? Chiefs defensive coach Spagnola had an excellent defensive plan for Lamar. Lamar looked flustered and did not have anywhere to go with the ball. I was quite surprised how Good the Chiefs defense was.

A great pocket passer will beat a great running QB EVERY TIME ...... Lamar will NEVER win a Lombardi

Thats why Lamar and Josh would never get to a super bowl with that run first mentality. Mahommes can run but his not running because he wants to run he is mobile extending the play or being efficient on his feet while lamar and josh is trying to much and ends up flat.

Lamar left himself open to criticism with the lose. That being said, Hasselbeck can't stand lamar. During the contract negotiation Hasselbeck said lamar shouldn't get paid because he might be over the hill at 26. Just remember you aren't a failure unless you stop trying.
