Great, I didn't know that the boas on Lake shoes are bidirectional, and they really are! BTW, I also have that foot shape, i.e. wide at the front, but narrow at the back of the feet, almost like a triangle. Lake should really consider adding this moldable heel area feature also to the 238 series. Thanks!

Thanks for a review. I have non-standard parameters are big size of foot and at the same time big width. I've bought Shimano XC 702 with normal width cause Shimano doesn't have a wide version for my size. It's not extremely uncomfortable but I see that an insole is significantly narrower than my foot. So I'll try order lake wide version. BTW I see that you use specialized insole. Standard insole doesn't support your foot enough?

I got the road version of these shoes few months ago, the CX238 and I exactly had the same problem with sizing. The forefoot was wide enough and very comfortable. However, the hind-foot area was too wide for me and on a moderate effort my heels would slide out. I ended up selling the shoes because of this issue. I followed their online sizing guid for the shoe and I would say I got the right size, length and shoe width at forefoot area were correct and comfortable.
