Thank you for this drone footage and your comentary. I did not loose my home. (thank God). But many friends did. I did not have work for 5 months... But I have my home and my dogs. My heart is broken for those suffering so much loss. Lahaina is so special. I hope it is honored properly when being cleaned up and rebuilt. We do not want it to look like Waikiki or Wailea. Please honor Lahaina properly. 🙏

Are the local authorities helping those who lost their homes to rebuild? It seems they dropped the ball in defending the neighborhoods from the fire and should take responsibility to get people back into homes where they have lived for generations.

In 1972, July 2-12, I was 6yo, my brother 8yo. My mom took us to Hawaii on vacation. Her boyfriend, Harry, a PanAm airline pilot. He lived in Lahaina. As this video approaches the Lahaina Harbor, Harry's house is just behind Front St about 100yds South of the harbor. Dottie's Beach is the little triangle of sand as the breakwater goes out from shore. We sat on that little beach as the full moon was on the horizon directly in our line of sight looking through the harbor. When inside the harbor, suddenly a massive Manta Ray breached fully out of the harbor water, before dropping back into it with a huge splash. The moon was momentarily blotted from the night sky. It is a memory I will forever have. I couldn't believe it when I heard Hawaii, then Maui then Lahaina! I was crushed. The wonderful people of the area... So sad

Yes shortly after the fires there were at least two very detailed and long videos of Drone footage of the area ... and one of somebody photographing from a motorcycle going up and down each and every street and that was on Hawaii Real Estate channel . He interviewed a number of people about their personal experiences there with the fire and the aftermath . At one point he was dealing with them ( you tube ) either threatening to shut down his channel or they removed his videos when I'm saying is a number of his videos came down . I know he did also have another channel but I couldn't remember the name of it to find it ... but Eric on Hawaii Real Estate channel was very proactive in reporting what was going on

Thank you again for your time and efforts and please know the American people love you all and want to help, we just aren't sure what is still needed and where to direct our efforts. Having lived in an area destroyed by a hurricane, the initial progress of rebuilding is painfully slow, and time for grieving for lost people and pets takes time. But once the insurance and FEMA money comes in rebuilding will take place and in 2 years from the fire, Lahaina will be fully rebuilt and open for business. You can’t rebuild lost history, but can rebuild to make new memories that will make Lahaina a beautiful place again.

Thank you Jesse for the video and commentary. We have visited Maui and Lahaina dozens of times and watched in horror as the town burned last year. From you survey and commentary about the pace of clean up it seems it will be at least a few years before the area is cleared and many more as it is rebuilt. So sorry for all the locals impacted by this devastation from housing, work, entertainment, health care, etc.
Aloha Jesse! Thanks so much for the great up date! Really good work! You are always in our thoughts and prayers! Blessing to all the wonderful Maui people!
Thank You so much for doing this. I am working with a group from the mainland to offer some alternative sustainable technology solutions to the people of Lahaina. This video really helps me to understand the devastation. What I noticed in the areas being cleaned are a couple of things. 1) There was only water being sprayed in one site. 2) I was told the dump trucks that were going to be loaded with the debris were to be lined with 80 mil HDPE film so the material could be wrapped in transport (like a burrito) to keep ash levels down on the way to disposal. I saw none of that in the 4 or 5 sites we passed. Thank you again for doing these videos. Regards, Skip Rochefort, Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR
Excellent overview, thanks!
Thank you so much for this update!!! Your drone footage is awesome and your work in doing this is much appreciated!! I'm so happy Lahaina is on the mend!
This is such a help for those affected by the fire. I know they appreciate your time and effort! Everything seems to be going extremely slow, but considering the monies that need to be processed through the insurance companies, plus appropriating help with the cleanup, it is understandable! I think at the end of that period people will start to do their own cleaning up , because I am sure that commercially it would take forever. The only good thing out of this disaster is there will be no shortage of work to be had.
Mahalo Jesse for this footage and work. God bless you.

My heart swelled when you showed us the Banyan. I have been thinking of her. She looks like she is regenerating. I had no idea, like so many of us who are not there, the extent of devastation. It was difficult to watch the footage at times but for me it's important to be informed. My heart is with the people who need to rebuild their lives in Lahaina.
Thank you SO much for this thorough coverage and narration. A non-bias video was greatly appreciated. Looking forward to more videos like this and see more progress.

theres no progress.just the opposite..its getting worse...much worse.
Wow.. what a great video tour.. I am blown away at the properties that were spared. no rhyme or reason.. just random houses that look untouched.. I am glad that they are starting the clean up process.. I feel like that is the first step to healing this beautiful place.. looking forward to more updates. Mahalo
Thank you for keeping the public informed and the explanations. I was there in Kaanapolli (SP) area in March 2024. This was so sad to see but so glad to have participated in a small donation of food for the people of Lahaina. Everyone was so gracia and appreciative. They are the sweetest people on Earth! Mahalo and Aloha!
Excellent update. Looking forward to watching the ongoing progress.
Wow! Clean slate now.... so sorry for the uprooted people!
Excellent coverage, Jesse.
Well done!!! Thank you very much for sharing this video.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to create this amazing piece of work.
I'm still shocked at the extent of the area that was damaged, greater than I imagined. Almost the entire community has been destroyed. It's heartening to see that the banyan tree has survived. My sincere condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives, their homes and their livelihoods. Aloha from Canada 🇨🇦

They are destroying the mother reef by dumping all the nano sized toxins in to cinder cone 600 feet from the mother reef of maui that feeds lanai and molakai ???
Jesse, great job of remaining neutral while reporting on this. I think that's important. You're providing a great service!

Right. Neutrality about a tragic event. C○○L. He's in sales. It's a sales voice.
Awesome footage. It’s amazing how some homes burned to the ground and some didn’t.
Thank you for the informative drone work. We were just on Maui for a week and went by that general area a couple times. To see it (well the parts from the bypass that we could) in person was a bit overwhelming. We did notice the memorial up by the bypass that was put up of all those lost. After the initial shock of the loss of lives and property when the news of the fire hit the various media sources, my next thought was about the run off and what impact that would or could have. Glad you mentioned it and that it is a concern to the powers that be. We found a Coconut Line location by chance and saw the list of items needed for donations and promptly went and got stuff that was on the list to donate while we were visiting.
Thank you for showing us what's going on. Wishing them a speedy recovery and success for the people there.
Great drone footage!! 😁
Thanks for posting these very clear images. Been to Lahaina a couple of times, and hope to go again once the cleanup is complete. All the best to everyone affected by the fire. You are strong. You will get through this.
Appreciate the update.
Thank you for sharing this Continue to send positive loving thoughts to our neighbors
Thanks for sharing this information. The devastation is heartbreaking but it’s good to see progress. Hopefully things speed up now that they are in phase 2. 🙏 🤙
Thank you. So needed! I am a tourist this week. I truly have all its citizens in my mind and heart. Please keep up the documentation. I feel disappointed about the slow progress.
