Ólafur Arnalds - Zero

Музыка

Zero is one of the songs from 'some kind of peace' that I cherish the most, especially due to the fact it serves a very significant purpose on the record as a whole. It represents the lowest point of the album journey, but it’s also the moment when everything starts to turn around - a reminder of the contrasting struggle and hope we all find within ourselves and our relationships.

I’m physically crippled now because of it. And this particular video and song. Water is the only place I am free from my body. And that’s what it looks like in the video is dancing underwater. Omg 😭😭😭 so breathtaking and heartbreakingly beautiful 🥲

Sometimes I get an overwhelming feeling of "knowing" something, and I'm not sure how I know what it is....but that's what I felt from this experience. It's like a combination of conflicting emotions dancing along with the two in the video, dancing to the beautifully haunting music. It made me happy, and sad, and angry, and I had to hold back some tears...still have to hold back some tears. I didn't know that I needed this right now, but I did--I do. Thank you.

What a beautiful piece... The music is beautiful. The dancers are beautiful, as well as the way they move and their symbiosis. The cinematography and the way the light moves with and around the characters. It shows there are struggles in love, but there's also play and support. It's a peaceful but strong music and video. Thank you for this.

I’ve never been able to see choreography or dancing as anything more than moving to music. But this choreography has actually allowed to see a story in the performance and its truly beautiful. I don’t know what they were trying to portray, but I saw a story of a relationship from when they first meet, through sickness and caring for one another and holding each other up, but ultimately they truly move as one and rarely have any distance between them. Almost like watching birds fly together. Again, just a beautiful performance to an already deeply moving piece of music.

I believe true art is meant to speak to the soul without necessarily uttering a word. This to me is a perfect example of true art. As the notes play, it's almost as if you picture them dancing in perfect harmony; and the dancers in this video did a perfect representation of that. And as the dancers move, it's almost as if they are communicating with the audience saying, "It might be zero hour right now, but do know that it's always darkest before dawn. " This is a beautiful masterpiece Olafur.

"The lips of wisdom are sealed except to the ears of understanding." Some choose to see with their hearts, some with their minds. But if your mind's eye is blind, if your heart is of stone, how can you appreciate such piece of art? You cannot. That is why some people dislike this, because it is not within the power of everyone to internalise such sublime level of art.

Huge credz to @joshuastocker ‘n team that made the music video~! It takes a director whose vision as a graphic artist can drive a talented group of folk to materialize a timeless love of two people as the world spins upward and upward. The dancers and camera runners could’ve easily performed to the pure sound of nature leaves and steps and branches cracking under their feet as they move around, and the video would’ve been just as beautiful. Try to mute and watch without audio.. you can hear their breaths as life notes how their carry the melody together! Amazing..

Out of all of the great music I've found throughout my life , yours is the most treasured it's very dear to me and all music kind of puts you in a feeingl and for the most part you can ignore and block those feelings but your music olafur it can't be ignored , if I'm at work and a certain piece of yours comes on i have to change it because it moves me to tears . I've never understood life the way I do when I listen to Olafur Arnold's. This piece zero is an all around masterpiece . This is what I wish my heaven to be like . If you pay attention to their movements they're actually telling a story . Thank you Olafur for everything, you really are a legend and an all around beautiful person.

If you let yourself go and free you mind to feel the depth of the music you will find yourself dancing freely like them . No care but the moment entwined.
