Omg, that was horrifying. Two of them were literally stuck on the ladder engulfed in flames. Trying to get off but covered completely, so scary.

After watching NYFD for twenty years fighting fires you guys are outstanding in your actions and professionalism. Godspeed to the recovery of the injured firemen.

LA Firefighters cover an area with a high variety of threats any city can face. Station 9 Skid Row in particular. These guys are amazing. Huge respect to the LAFD and all Firefighters. Get well soon.

I am a resident of downtown I live on the street of Ceres cross are 6th & Central. I seen that tall blaze so much black smoke billowing out into the air, it was indeed very horrible and tragic scene. I commend the L.A.F.D for all of what they do to keep our city of Downtown LA safe🙏😊 Thank You gentleman 👍👍

Praying for all involved for physical and emotional healing and return to good health

This hits home for me, I and a few others custom build La tillers the truck they were on, here in appleton wi. My deepest sympathy to all those brave men.

I commend those firefighters that ran back into the fireball to help those still on the ladder, they deserve medals

LAFD did an amazing job despite the conditions that affected those brave firefighters that got got up in that explosive fireball. Seeing this on live video recording, well my heart stopped for those guys retreating back across that ladder. I prayed for their safety, it was really traumatising to watch! This fire was so terrible. I watched 'Boyd Street' - a documentary about this fire and the firefighters that were caught up in it - it is amazing that those firefighters made it out alive. Absolutely amazing professionalism - way to go LAFD!

@@apburner1 , sorry I didn't realize I pumped myself up. Just letting you know where my involvement with the fire departments comes from. As a first responder for the gas utility in the St Louis metropolitan area, we are dispatched to all fires that have a gas service, no matter what the cause. Having worked hundreds of fires ( suburban and City) I hope it's understandable to you that the inner city Fire Department get far more real-world experience then they do in the suburbs and rural communities. It's not that they're training is any less extensive, it's just the inner city Fire Department get more experiences ( industrial, commercial, 100 year old residential and high crime areas). Our gas company has a extensive training facility on our property for all fire departments throughout the metropolitan area.. So now you know my expertise what is yours?

Damn, those firefighters on the ladder were being roasted like a hamburger on a BBQ. Hope they all survived and don't have serious lasting injuries from that.

I used to be a fire/incident photographer. That right there has to be the most devastating incident I have ever seen to date & I have seen plenty of videos I hope all went well for each of the brave firefighters that went through that incident. I hope the investigators were able to find the cause.

One of my buddies were supposed to be working that day but just so happen to get the day off, but his friends were the ones who helped looked for all the firefighters who station 9, and for most of them they are going to have a long recovery and won't be able to return to work on the fireline so my buddy as well as many others are going to have to transfer until they can find some permanent firefighters to stay at firehouse 9. It was a rough few days not just for me but for a lot of my buddies friends who didn't hear or even know if it was him involved, hoping that the family and friends of these firefighters can find some peace and comfort in knowing that there is so many people not just here in LA but around the world that wishes for a full recovery

Probably because there are STRONG chances that criminal charges will be filed even if this fire started accidentally. It sure looks like they had lots of butane stored in the building, which would be highly illegal. If any of the firefighters die, homicide charges could (and should) be filed.

This is an example of why good bunker gear (fire coats, bunker pants, helmets, tools, etc.) are so important. You never know when something like this is lurking, waiting to attack. Good gear, apparatus, and training are so essential to the firefighters' safety. Congratulations LAFD on your good job handling of this near tragedy.

One fire-fighter recalled the only reason he didn't get his hands burnt was because he changed to structural gloves and another reason something they usually don't do on arrival is mask up straight away this time everyone did and that saved there face & airways, that procedure is mandatory at every fire...it took 42 sec to alter 12 mens lives forever, the take home is wear your bunker gear properly, don't be complacent because the monster is just waiting to catch you off guard

My Prayers go out to those whom were injured an to their families.. and I wish them all a speedy recovery..And hope that the Investigators do come up with the outcome.
