LACo.FD 3-Alarm Fire Response: Marina del Rey
Los Angeles County and City Fire Department units responding to/from a 3-alarm apartment fire in LACo.FD 110’s area on the 4600 block of Via Marina.
Units featured include LA County Quint 51, Quint 116, Engine 7, Engine 8 (using a reserve engine), Engine 9, Engine 70 (using Engine 570), Engine 164, Engine 236, USAR Task Force 103 (Engine 103, USAR 103, Rescue Tender 103, and Heavy Rescue 103), HazMat 105, ESU 159 (picked up from FS 58 by E236), Mobile Air & Light 165, Squad 173 (in a reserve squad), various admin units, LAFD Battalion 11 (using a reserve), Rescue 63, McCormick Ambulance, and LA County Sheriff.
E110 was first on scene of a 3 story apartment over parking with smoke showing, Q110 confirmed and established “Harbor IC”. BC1 arrived on scene and assumed command from BC20, and reported fire on the first and second floors with extension to the third.
1 patient was transported with burn injuries. 1 LAFD firefighter was injured and transported by LAFD RA63, unknown disposition.

Whenever I see LA County Fire Trucks or Paramedic Units responding I immediately begin humming the theme song to EMERGENCY One of these days I will make it out to the LA County Fire Museum to see the EMERGENCY display.
That rescue unit is a beast-incredible footage.

Station 51 in “Emergency!” was actually Station 127 in Carson, which is STILL an operating fire station. Years later, at Universal Studios, they RE numbered the station there to 51 in homage to the show. And yes, as a huge fan of “Emergency!” It was cool to see something from that station responding!!

i'm not a huge fan of the Firehouse Fabs grills either, they are indeed hard to see. i prefer the Code R Decals but i believe they age and fade quickly. thanks a bunch john!!

@@Stargazzer811 They did have steady burns prior, they were on the lightbar, but one is barely working and the other is out and it seems they're not willing to repair the lightbar.

almost all of the tillers are quints except for Truck 82 (acquired from Vernon Fire Dept.) and the few reserve Simon Duplex trucks left in the fleet. thanks for watching!

that's right! Q116 is the only frontline rear mount quint of the fleet, the very few other rear mounts are in reserve status

they responded to the scene but were assigned to pick up ESU159 from FS58. so they left, went to get it, and came back with it.

LACo.FD has an automatic aid agreement with LA City in that jurisdiction. on all structure fires in LACo.FD 110's area (Marina del Rey), an LAFD battalion and task force are requested. however, this was a working fire and additional LAFD units responded.

the one with E236 was INFO4, only assuming because they radio'ed that they were on scene shortly after filming that clip. not sure who the other one is.

not exactly sure. fire house fabrications (the manufacturer of their current grills) has been making quite the rounds around the county. i would like to assume companies decide on those based on the fact that they don't necessarily age or fade from sun exposure like the decals that are painted/stickered on. thanks for watching!

Not overkill, run cards. Everything above a 2nd alarm in LA County gets Hazmat, USAR, and a handful of other specialist units, that way they don't have to waste time waiting for them to arrive on scene. Also helps because they bring added manpower, which is always useful at a scene. Would rather have too many hands than too few.
