I don't want a fat Lab, so this forces me to get off my butt and take her on adventures. She has a ball that she loves to retrieve that we use between adventures. Big Adventures has been added to our vocabulary after watching your videos. My dog isn't as perfect as the dogs you show on your videos, but we have both keep practicing and learning from watching them. Thank You

Clearly uncle Stonnie taught George good gun safety. I noticed even though he was carrying it open he was cognizant of where the barrel was pointed walking behind Dad.

Love the tip about laying down. My Golden Retriever puppy gets a sad face and hurt feelings very easily too. in a crazy world of dog trainers arguing about what methods work best. Its nice to see Stonnie having fun and kindness with the dogs.

My vet once said, "Your dog is overweight." I said, "I don't know how much to feed. She eats and eats and eats." The vet said, "Read the table on the dog food bag. Pick a row corresponding to a target weight and stick to it every day for a while. Adjust later depending on results." Duh. He was right.

Good ol' common sense strikes again. Maxie's got his champion hat on today. Lookin' forward to seein' Lola settle in and learn the ropes too. Good ol' No Name, always eager to please and do. That's a fine trio of helpers you have there with ya today. Charlotte the JR wrangler, Georgie the marksman, and the Mrs. mastering the art of walking backwards. Love videos like this one Stonnie.

I have a 12 year old black Lab (American). She was a rescue who I got when she was 6.5. A couple of weeks back she was at the vet, and honest to God the vet had her get on and off the scales several times and then even weighed herself as she thought they had suddenly broken! She couldn’t believe that I’d brought in an older Lab that was still at the correct weight! It really does massively help. Until she was 11 she was still walking miles and could out play most dogs years younger than herself. She is slowing down now, but still has minimal arthritis for her age, especially given her previous history.

A lot of people free-feed, meaning they put food in the bowl whenever it's empty, and the dog can decide how much to eat. Some dogs like Jack Russels never feel full, so free feeding for them is out of the question already, but a lot of dogs seem to be fine and healthy on this method. But studies have shown that 25% less than that results in two more years of life, on average. Replacing a quarter of their kibble diet with meat also gives them extra years.

Hi Stonnie, I have watched many of your videos and they are all very helpful. Thank you. One question I have for you is regarding Barking. I'm assuming you have a kennel full of dogs. How do you address, if at all, a dog that just continuously barks. Or maybe a question for just an owner at home. How do you address the barking issue? Thank you.

@@StonnieDennis the rate of lymes is extremely high here. I had to take a round of prophylactic antibiotics. I’m originally from Tennessee and that stuff never concerned me. But here it’s a whole different story. Any advice? It didn’t stop it. Just spoiled it. We still go.

I’ve heard about Lyme disease being awful in the North East. I wear a hat, long sleeves, and knee socks most of the time and I very rarely have any problems. I can understand why you wouldn’t want to dress like me though!
