@@gwynedd-1 I know the theory, but, the truth is exactly what I've said. By folk voting Green last election, where I live, the Tories got in. It was a double whammy for the Greens, they didn't get their lady in and they lost a lot of the Labour policies that were harmonious to the Greens. I want my vote to get rid of this awful shower in government. I'm voting Labour. If you live in a Tory ruled constituency by all means do vote Green, etc. However, consider how quickly the Lib-dems sold out.

When he was a lawyer, Kier Starmer specialised in human rights. For him and his party not to give a response to the ICJ request tells me everything. I am not voting Labour.

And the Tories. All they do is criticise but never ever offer a solution to the perceived problems. Never offer a policy or how they are going to pay for anything. You wait, the moment the election is over and Labour are in power they are going to say 'Oh things are far worse than we ever believed from the Tories mismanagment so we can't do anything we said in our manifesto.' We are going to have to raise taxes to pay for the demands made by the Unions our paymasters. Watch VAT, petrol, diesel, heating oil, gas, airline taxes, corporation tax, and multiple other taxes rise by an alarming amount raising the cost of living to ever higher levels. You ain't seen nothing yet.

I think the big missing factor is there are very few politicians with any integrity or principles. Andrew Bridgen comes to mind but he was vilified. Seems these are undesirable traits for a 'public servant'🙄 these days.

Shareholders have taken it and spent it... its gone. In terms of the original underpricing, some of that was recouped by Gorden Brown's windfall tax from the original investors. It has been 30 years now, money distributed all over the world and spent. Gone.

Just take it back, it belongs to us the people, not shady foreign entities. We just take the entire system back including any profits generated by it and start ploughing those profits and dividends into the infrastructure and adding staff to sort the issues out. It will prove to be very lucrative for us, the paying public

What policies do those independents have though? It's okay saying "let's boot them both out", but it comes back to the same reason groups like Novara are attacking Labour on not committing to anything big before the election has actually taken place. If your vote for an independent pays dividends and does boot a labour candidate out, they're going to have to actually play a part in fixing this country. So you're essentially trading one unknown for the other.

So pleased to see Novara exposing Labour as being as utterly unelectable as the Tories. What we need is objective media and put all the partisan stuff to one side. The people of this country have had to put up with some of the worst politicians I can remember in my 53 years and the country is in a really bad place so these people need to be scrutinised and exposed at every opportunity; for too long they've been able to get away with abject failure and society has been the loser as a result. I've never been more disengaged from politics than I am now and I feel it's probably how most people are feeling these days, that their vote means nothing anymore.

this is what I am looking for in the labour government, if they fail to do so and our bill sgo up again I will NEVER VOTE THEM again - only green beyond that regardless of vote share out of principle.

There’s such a lack of actual honest journalism in the UK. I’m so grateful for Novara Media and Double Down News, but it’s not getting to enough people. But I am thankful for you guys!
I can’t stand Labour. And I have voted for them since the 1980s. I would vote for Andrew Feinstein - but unfortunately I live in the constituency next to Holborn and St Pancras. Or if Owen Jones stood I’d vote for him - or anyone from Novara Media !

I left school at 15 (then the minimum leaving age) and bunked off most of the last year anyway. So can all you people with "A" levels, degrees, PhDs, etc, tell me if you can get away responding to questions with such deflections, evasions and vague ambiguities as the aspiring Sectury of Stake for Ejerkayshun does? Can you imagine a minister in Atlee's government being asked how they were going to pay for rebuilding huge swathes of Liverpool, Portsmouth, Swansea, London, Coventry, Clydebank, etc. and housing people, but all they had to say was that bastard Goering shouldn't have bombed them in the first place? No, they had a programme and means of financing it, very difficult as they were. Banging on about breakfast clubs, you have school infrastructures collapsing. Labour needs to stop with the silly tinkering at the edges and put forward some bold plans that will actually benefit the majority of the public that has to vote for them and start paying for it by taxing and enforcing those taxes and stop with the pandering to private companies and outside interests.
It is the easiest job in the world to sit on the fence and criticise , let’s see what happens when Labour get in power, no difference !!

Rachel Reeves starts rambling on about something totally different too the question she was asked about..

I am very concerned that Labour will not commit to fixing sewage, university high fees,and most important housing in the UK. Could the reluctance to commit be in part due to contract law? Have the Tories signed us away to punitive contracts that would cause the UK extremely high costs fighting these expert Corporate layers representing water companies. universities, NHS private contractors, property developers...and on.???

I had no interest in UK politics, until Jeremy Corbyn emerged & I found hope I'm the U.K & it's politics & set an example to the world. Now I watch it with sadness. I'll never forgive the vicious way by which Corbyn was crucified from the labour establishment, or the media . It's a shameful period of UK politics of how they tore down one of the kindest, most gentle, passionate politician in the world .

Corbyn asked some uncomfortable questions about certain illegal and secret NATO operations across Europe back in the 90s that resulted in civillians being murdered by far right extremists, after that there was no way he could ever be allowed to be PM.
Funny how they can’t answer hypothetical questions about arresting a criminal, but as soon as they’re asked a hypothetical question about ordering a nuclear strike ‘Yes!’ immediately.
Im a traditional labour voter ive voted labour for 30 years. I dont see this party as labour at all, they are a small step to the left of the most right-wing government in my lifetime. I will be voting Green 💚 the only left wing party left ... we need proportional representation asap and end this 2 horse race.

James Ball talks in the 'New European' about the reasons for labours reluctance to discuss its economic plan. But not once does he discuss their failure to support human rights and international law, I wonder why? Labour like the main 3 parties are a disgrace and will not get my vote. QT should demonstrate democratic credentials by sharing its chairs with the smaller and independent parties.

The water companies need to be held accountable for incompetence and failure to invest and taking profits it should be a criminal offence to buy a public service and run it into the ground
