NHS, immigration and no trust in politicians: Key takeaways as parties went head-to-head | ITV News

Seven party leaders and representatives took to the stage for ITV's second General Election debate on Thursday night, covering topics including tax, immigration, and the cost of living.
They were also each given the opportunity to ask another representative a question, with some responses prompting loud laughter from members of the audience.
The debate was moderated by ITV News' Julie Etchingham, who posed questions on key issues chosen by members of the public ahead of the event.
So what were the key takeaways from tonight's debate?

I'm 33 years old and have never voted. I served 9 years in the Army. Like most, I feel betrayed by the Labour and Conservative governments as I've gotten older. Both parties have dragged us into pointless wars. Increased tax. Created a wealth divide. Destroyed the middle class. Without ever taking a step back. I'll be voting Reform. So will my parents, siblings, wife, colleagues and former colleagues. I don't know a single person voting Conservative and just a few people voting Labour.

Brits are outraged after discovering that up to millions of foreign nationals have the right to vote in our elections. including hundreds of thousands of international students on visas who come to the UK for just a few years, get to help decide who the ruling party is. Commonwealth citizens(India..) can vote in all elections, including general elections. Qualifying Commonwealth citizens must be resident in the UK and either have leave to remain in the UK or not require leave. Your leave to remain can be indefinite, or time limited (international students, HongKong BN(O) visa...). So Sunak needs mass migration.

@@colofsco1 That’s neither here nor there, it doesn’t matter whether his beliefs are amazing or ridiculous or whatever. He and his party are simply irrelevant so won’t be on the debate, because compared to the amount of seats that the other parties on the stage have have in various parliaments and governments combined with their respective polling numbers makes them more relevant than him and therefore deserve to be on the debate. There are hundreds of political parties in the UK so they can’t just put all of them up there, they have to be the most popular ones only.
