There are probably a hundred ZZ Top tribute bands one of them must have a Dusty. You cannot have ZZ Top without those vocals. Elwood is doing his best but it is not to the standard set for 50 years. That’s a fact. Fix it or bill the show as Billy Gibbons

Elwood's Neice Deidre is a friend of mine. She never imagined her Uncle would be in ZZ top. But there he is. Doing a fantastic job 🤠. RIP Dusty....you are missed so much.

Man Billy's Tone!!!!!!!! He can still do it when he feels like it!!!!!!

We just saw them play in Corpus Christi last night. It was an amazing night. Dusty was in the air. Elwood honored him. So glad I got to see them now!

One of the greatest American Bands.

I can listen to Billy Gibbons play guitar for another 50 years!

I have to say Elwood Francis is a perfect 👍 fit for the band and he looks great 😊.I definitely want to see them again if the opportunity arises.😊

One of the coolest shuffles. EVER!!!

Coming back to the first video that I seen of Elwood in the band after seeing others, I'm amazed how much he's gotten better with the band, can't wait to see him get even better.

Elwood fits in like a glove. RIP Dusty.

It really sucks not seeing any hearing Dusty with them, no body can replace him, but Elwood is doing a great job, and playing great.

​@@philipbassist8255 Yes, it is not as "on the spot" as normal shuffle. Maybe he overshoots a bit in this recording... The late "one and" upbeat makes it more kinda walk with a limb. I mean that feeling that also has the guitar in "La Grange" where not only the upbeat is muted, it is also very laid back. I get what your a saying. What I mean is Frank's snare notes have the same volume and the spacing makes it feel straight and not swing feel. The other video you sent is a regular old shuffle. A Texas shuffle has the snare playing a 1 and 2 and 3 and feel. With the notes on the and before the 2 and 4 being softer more like an accent note. The notes are also played closer together on that tune versus what Frank is doing. A oney and a two e feel rather than a straight 1234.

I have always loved this riff. On KZread check out the coolest guy on the planet Justin Johnson playing La Grange on his amazing twin neck guitar. As usual PLAY IT LOUD

This is quite an organic change, very natural - Elwood was a member of this close family for 30 years. Smooth transition.

As a bassist who's always loved Dusty Hill all I can say is I'm glad ZZ Top is still out there kickin it and Elwood is OK. But imo his tone is too clean and doesn't get under and push the band like Dusty did. Of course your opinion may vary and that is fine. I'm sure that dusty is up there and happy. there's no question he has a lot of fine quality musicians up there to jam with. Rip Dusty Hill you are missed!
