La domus dei mosaici a Carsulae
Il video presenta i risultati degli eccezionali ritrovamenti nell’area archeologica relativi alla scoperta della prima domus romana a Carsulae. Attraverso le foto dei cinque pavimenti a mosaico rinvenuti e alcune ricostruzioni virtuali dell’edificio, elaborate sulla base delle indagini tecniche e scientifiche eseguite sull’area di scavo, si è ipotizzata la struttura architettonica della domus, restituendo l’antica atmosfera domestica del tempo. Il video è stato realizzato, grazie al contributo della Fondazione Carit, dalla società Euromedia con la collaborazione scientifica della cooperativa Astra.

Hablo español y he quedado sorprendido de poder entender casi todo lo que decía el narrador en italiano en tal vez un 80-85%! I speak Spanish and I'm amazed at how I was able to understand nearly everything the narrator was saying in Italian, at a rate of maybe 80-85%!

Beauty and harmony were important to the ancients in their architecture. We went away from all that in the 20th century as architects tried to out shock each other with new twisted and bizarre designs. Did you know that much of modern architecture (with no ornamentation) was devised by Hitler as housing for the lesser races? True story! However, I do think modern skyscrapers are often very beautiful, like giant crystals in the sky. But if you look at personal dwellings, most people still want something traditional and harmonious.

I wish artists would stop putting candles in ancient renderings. They weren't there. The ancients didn't have or use candles. Once upon a time, historical accuracy was a baseline standard, now nobody can be bothered with those pesky little details.
