Could you do something on skin brightening for semi darker skins? I used the proactive wipes (which they don’t sell anymore) and it basically gave me splotchy lights spots that are semi permanent now. It over lightened.

I just found this video and I learned so much. I've been using L'Oreal products since I was 13, which my mum bought it and introduced me to skin care. She bought the Hydra gel and I've been using it until it was discontinued. Now I'm using their Hyaluronic Acid and Centella essence, at 27 I have to say my skin don't have that much problems.

"It's just a list of irritating ingredients" LOL. I think this explains why so many men seem to have better skin despite their almost non-existent skincare. Women have been slathering their faces with expensive irritants packaged in shiny jars.

Women goes through hormonal sh*t. That’s why most of them have bad skin conditions. Skincare is great. And many ppl swear by L’Oréal. It’s all about finding what suits your skin (which is a difficult part). I’ve been using The ordinary and my skin is great but it’s getting a little dry lately. So I’m trying to get back to L’Oréal again cause this serum is ✨✨ I’ve used the red bottle around 2 years ago and I loved it. That’s why I’m looking through videos cause this 1.5 serum is different than red bottle.

I worked for the body shop for 2 years. A major selling point for the drops of youth was that there was one sold every minute. I had to literally stop and rewind the loreal commercial about their revitalift product. I’m just over here thinking how sad is it that two brands by the same company have to use the same selling tactic to sell their products. Obviously people who don’t work for the body shop who’s never know this and just fall for it. Drops of youth does nothing. If you want something to work, get Botox...it’s only $11-13 per until and goes on sale at medspas all the time and it will actually work unlike anything sold by loreal or the body shop is my advice.

Dr V, thanks for the videos you keep on making, so that we consumers can learn what is good and bad for our skin. Because of your reviews, I have virtually become more circumspect in my skincare products and tend to gravitate towards Cerave, The Ordinary, and Vanicream. I also watched your video about Paula's Choice, but personally am forsworn not to use the brand myself. I find it a dodgy company when the original founder, Paula Begoun, wrote a book reviewing the major cosmetic brands and flamed their products with an agenda while claiming that every product in her brand deserved five stars!

Thank you for this information. There are many derms that proport, that if formulated correctly, denature alcohol is not as bad as many make it out to be -- and that it serves a logical purpose in the product. It is confusing.

I'm so glad you popped up on my recommended videos on to watch. I've been watching religiously for the past 2 weeks. You give such great information. I'd like to ask is it possible to get acne after age 45? Even if you haven't had acne in years? I wasn't much into skin care before but now I've gotten older, I noticed a grey tint that I hated on my skin. Since I started a skincare regimen, now I notice I have frequent breakouts. In my teens, I kinda understood what to do with my oily skin. Now, so many years later, having extremely dry skin, I'm confused about the acne. Extremely confused since I'm now on the opposite side of the spectrum. Please help lol

My skin changed at 28 (now 39), always dry type, but at 28 I suddenly had acnes (which I didnt got at teenage). When I changed to more rich moisturizer, the acnes gone by themselves.. so reading ur comments, I think u need to find out more about hydrating your skin properly, learn from many videos about basic skincare and skin barrier, so u might find d suitable basic products (Im also just learning this past month, hahah)

Hi Dr Rattan, I am so happy to have come across your channel. I love your honesty and willingness to share your knowledge. I would be grateful if you could do videos on Korean skincare. I came across a website - Wishtrend and have been using Klairs products. But is it good for me? (FYI I have dry/sensitive, Fitzpatrick type 4 skin, 28 years, from UK). Another question/video idea is Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair, is it still good? Could do ‘oldies but goodies’. My mum wanted to know about that serum in particular, since it’s been around for a long time. Other suggestions: french pharmacy brands, and lip care. Thank you! 💜

Dr. Rattan I try to go through your channel to find the answer to my questions and I stumble on dark spots video. I have really bad hyper pigmentation dark spots on my jaws but not from acne bumps. My jaws look as if I have bad acne. You mention to wash you face with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid but can you be more clear. Did you mean double cleanse first with a benzoyl peroxide 2nd with salicylic acid cleanser? on the same day or do you mean use one cleanser in Am and the other in Pm on the same day? then can I follow with a 8% ascorbic acid+arbutin, niacinamide HA? I really would appreciate if you can confirm the clarity of that dark spot video so I can know what facial wash to choose to treat my dark spots. Thank you
