Kyrie hits game-winner, crowned ‘most skilled ever’ & Mavs defeat Nuggets | NBA | FIRST THING FIRST

Спорт

Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes react to Kyrie Irving’s left handed hook shot at the buzzer to lift the Dallas Mavericks past the Denver Nuggets. Postgame Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard tweeted: “Kyrie the most skilled ever.” Which prompted the FTF crew to decide if Kyrie is the most skilled ever.

I used to rate Broussard but my guy fell off. Kyrie's been making left handed floaters from the free throw line since his cleveland days. He literally has a stretch in game 3 of the finals against golden state where he makes like 2 or 3 impossible floaters on like 3 defenders, hes been doing this. His opinion is invalidated right when he compared Nash to Kyrie in terms of SKILL. It's not even close.

It's debatable. Kyrie has more creativity for sure. But if you evaluate skill in specific areas there aren't many that Kyrie is clearly more skilled at. I will give him ball handling but it's a tiny edge. Kyrie has a deeper bag. Let's say it takes 10 moves for you to be unguardable against an average defender at the rim. Steph might have 25, but Kyrie makes you feel like he has 100. But at the end of the day both are unguardable. On the other hand Steph is a clearly better off the dribble 3 point shooter and playmaker. At first I felt like Kyrie and Kobe are the most skilled ever but thinking again there are other players on that level.

Also do you think playing great defense, team of individually, in today's game take more skill then in the past because you have to be less physical and a bit more crafty so is a defender like Holiday more "skilled" then a great defender from the past? In the playoffs momentum is key. If a team gets hot in april it can carry them a long way. I like that the mavs still fly under the radar. Broussard and Wildes not realizing that since the trade deadline Mavs play a different style of basketball. They bullied the Nuggets under the basket. They had 21 offensive rebounds. The game wasn't stolen, it was taken with their hustle and efford.

Dang, Chris didn't even mention my guy Stockton's name even though he still has the all time career assists and steals.

Mavs also haven't had a consistent regular season. While they may not have played down to their seeding they also weren't a high seed to begin with. We've seen the ceiling with Luka and the Mavs and it's Western Finals. Feels like Luka will need to seek another home in 3 years.

The terms skill, does it comprise handles, passing and shooting, or just handles?

Assists don't necessarily tell how great a passer you are... You can make the perfect pass and if the guy doesn't make the shot then no assist

i hate when people talk about kyrie and don't realise how versatile of a scorer he is. This man is way more versatile and skilled then steph is, because he has such a complete mid range game and post game, finishing bag, ball handling you name it. the only 2 things i will give steph is 3 point shooting and passing. Every other name mentioned in this video when comparing kyrie i will not bother as that's just disrespect.
