Yeah that brushed motor is quicker than the brushless. Still amazed on how quick they both are on 2s batteries, really really cool man!

Yea man the brushed setup was 5km quicker which surprised me , absolutely love building good kit buggies and these are awesome ! Thanks man

Oh, that's a nice one to watch, Saturday morning, hangover, with a coffee, great! I love the sound of these, especially the Turbo sounds sooo smooth! Yeah, the track is terrible, it could kill a 10th scale buggy with all those rocks bared, but happy they survived.😃

Great vid mate,might have to finally bite the bullet and buy one of these,just been on the fence a while because they are rather pricey for what they are. Very impressed by the nimbleness of that brushed setup. On a final note what exact lipo battery where you running that fitted well in these cars so I can know what to look out for if I end up buying one or both these kits? Keep up the great videos bloke😎👍

They are both great to build and fun to run .... my personal fav is the optima mid ... the brushed setup is plenty enough imo for what i need ... i was using a 2s 3300mah lipo

Ripping! Loved the back to back comparison. Did you change to a different size pinion gear on the Mid for that motor or just running the kit's pinion?

Cool video! Your Kyosho Turbo Optima and Optima Mid are both pretty quick. What motors and ESC did you use if you don't mind me asking? I have both RC's but I haven't started assembling them yet. I want to get the same motors for my units if I can.

@@tm_vis-rc on this day it was faster , i have since turned up the timing on the optima turbo and now it is faster .... All completely box stock as far as pinions etc 👍🏻

awesome thanks for the info! Yeah im running the le mans 240sESC and 15.5T and its quite undepowered, unless i use 3s For the mid, i have the 1080 and super stock RZ on a 28T pinion that ive yet to take out for spin!@@kaosr.c

Thanks for the info! yeah im running the Le Mans 240s ESC and 15.5T motor on the turbo, and its underpowered, unless i use the 3s ( 42kmh on that). For the mid, i have the same setup, with a 28T pinion, but ive yet to take it out with that updated setup. :) @@kaosr.c

If you never built one before then maybe the plasma Edge tamiya , awesome fun car and then move up to getting the Kyosho optima mid 👌🏻

Honestly get yourself one .... It is pure satisfaction building it .... All you need to buy to get it running is the motor/esc , servo and radio/receiver.... Have a good set of hex drivers and take your time building it

You could get the proper kyosho esc/motor for it ... The LeMans.... Or go what i put in mine , hobbywing 1060 with a tamiya super stock RZ motor .... Works great and quick

Optima mid is a great looking buggy, no need for brushless in that one. How do you get on with dust & grit getting into the motor not causing damage to the motor.

Optima mid is awesome 👌🏻 I give them a good clean and use a air blower and hopefully that works to keep them clean

@@kaosr.c ah damn. I'm torn between the optima mid and the turbo optima. I was convinced I was gonna get the turbo optima but then I came across your video. I just built my first Kyosho turbo scorpion and I love it. Although I needed to add some weight to the front end to keep it drivable. I also have a tamiya hotshot blockhead and I thought it might be similar to the mid. Although mechanically I'm sure the mid is way more advanced. Any thoughts would be appreciated

optima mid seems having a better handling than turbo optima, i ve seen that it can wear team associated shocks

I use the rz in my Tamiya Frog and that hits close to 50km , real fast for brushed ... ill do a video at some point ....
