i just got my rig 2 days ago. i got the charcoal black version. i saw some parts on Ebay for the mini-z 4x4 and i ordered them before the truck even came. i ended up waitng for 3 months from A-Main hobbies. i would love to upgrade it as you have shown. ive done a lot with scx24s as well. now its the mini-z 4x4 turn. awesome informational video as always.

thanks for the hex adapter video! it really optimized the performance. next is the weight distribution ;) and i got some heavy duty grease for the shox to stop the jumpyness.

Thanks bro, Brian has came up with some good mods for this truck. I really like the electronics replacement kit from him. Let's you put in a 3 wire servo and get rid of all those batteries. I used an Axial esc and a 2s lipo in mine. Got rid of a bunch of weight and gave it better low end with more top end

I just picked up a charcoal version not too long ago, I love the Yoda! So I got the crawling bug and also picked up the 118 scale RC4wd Gelande 2. Have To admit, I enjoy driving the Yoda better, it just looks so much more cooler with the long travel shock flex. Selling Gelande, its looking like. Great info here buddy. I just got a mini z clone. It’s good but the electronics aren’t great. He still sells the parts and more mini z stuff on his eBay page.

Hi. I recently picked up this truck. Did you know that it has a stop feature? That 1st push of reverse often turns on the stop gear built into their ESC. Then the 2nd push goes into reverse. I think that is what you were experiencing. Cheers. Thanks for the video, I want to upgrade my tires now!

Yes, I know about the brake feature. Seems like a hold over from Mini-Z cars or something. Kinda inconvenient for crawling in my opinion. I like for the drag brake to become active when I let off the throttle, and for it to go directly to reverse when I want reverse. New tires made a good improvement, but then the steering servo was weak. As I understand there are a lot more upgrades now than back when I did this video. I may have to explore some of them in the future. Thanks for watching bro 👍

any tips on installing that servo? i bought the same one and the screws provided in my Sleekun kit slip right through

It has been a while since I did that build, and Don't remember the specifics, but most likely I used some washers or different screws

What size are these wheels and tires?

Really surprised at Kyosho not using decent parts. Made it look very toy-like :( nice of on fixing it up

At first, not as capable as scx24, but it is a hard body, so it's to be expected. Now, i will have to give it a proper shake down run to see. I think it has good potential.

@@TJthercGuy lol, did they have their radio in crawler mode? If light on radio is solid, that's not crawler mode. Light must be flashing. You hold radio in full reverse and turn it on for crawler mode 😎
