Just FYI the laser on an infrared thermometer is not the actual part that reads the temperature. It's just a laser pointer. If you want to get the actual temperature down in the glow plug hole take the little domed part That's either above or underneath the laser which is the actual sensor end Stick it directly on the top of the head pointed down into it.

What do you think about the engine temp? Would it be ok to be sitting around 160-180? I have the same buggy and noticed it runs too cold compare to the other nitro engines..🤔it runs perfect and I can’t lean it out more than it is but still runs cold.

I played with RC a little bit in 2008. It was fun but I dropped the hobby due to limited time. I recently started thinking of coming back to this. Can someone explain to me why nitro is getting so much hate these days? Back in the old days nitro and electric were more or less on the same footing - both had their advantages and disadvantages.

I want to get into nitro for longer practice sessions. I can't be sure based on this video, but I think my 8b4.1 E would whoop the thing, but at such a low price for the chassis. One could add to it to enhance offvthe line speed. Question??; is it that your tires are breaking traction when you get on it from dead stop?

The ke engines run so well for rtr and tune so easily. The inferno series are amazing values. I like my inferno neo buggy and USA-1 nitro, but overall I think my neo st truggy is my favorite nitro basher. My traxxas tmaxx 3.3 engine runs terribly, tune does not hold and overall the traxxas is over complicated with the silly easy start. The neo st also out handles it and has been more reliable. Seems odd to compare my truggy to a monster truck but the tire size is not that far off and the neo st can handle the same terrain as my tmaxx, so....

They need to break the engines in at the factory. That is a stupid amount of time to waste just to make it run correctly. Would be cool to take it to a track and see what you think of it.

Can you imagine a manufacturer taking that "stupid amount of time" to break in all those engines? It just ain't happening! And, if they did, expect to see a significant increase in price and most people are not willing to pay that! The work involved is a small price to pay for optimal performance, though! 👍

@@BMfins Nah, dude, I think you're expecting too much. The problem is no one wants to put in the work these days. Electric has pretty much raised expectations for performance, reliability and ease of use! Still, there is NOTHING like the sound and smell of a Nitro engine, screaming down a straightaway! I think you're seeing a resurgence with nitro and I expect that will grow in the next few years 👍.

@@BMfins No manufacturer has ever done that or ever will, nor should they. The reality is that the infrastructure required to produce all these parts is a far bigger endeavor than someone sitting on their couch at home usually realizes. Adding the fuel and man-hour cost to break in each engine individually would be ridiculous. It doesn't take that long, this 10-tank method is a little on the safe side, realistically, 3 or 4 tanks is usually just fine. If you don't have the patience to spend a few hours on the break in, maybe nitro rc cars are not for you. I'd suggest an electric kit.
